My Skincare Regimen ~ Part 2

Happy Thursday Everybody! Glad you guys enjoyed Part 1. I have to tell you, I really enjoyed reading your comments about the different cleansers you're using and your skincare regimen. I'm always looking to test new stuff out and you guys gave me some great suggestions and tips. There were some brands you mentioned, that I forgot about. So thank you.

Well, today is Part 2 of my skin care regimen. There was another editorial, I was itching to post but I don't want any riots on here ;) hee hee So let's get started and I'll post it another time! :)

SCRUB-A-Dub-Dub
Once a week, I'll exfoliate and scrub my skin (not my face though). Body scrubs have been hit or miss in my book. Either they're too oily, leave a film, too abrasive, or not abrasive enough.

If you're looking for a designer brand, I really like Laura Mercier Creme Brulee Sugar Scrub (her honey bath and souffle body cream is divine). If you want an excellent inexpensive scrub, go to Bath and Body Works and get True Blue Spa Toe the Line. It's specifically for your feet, but I use it on EVERYTHING. It's perfect, rinses clean, doesn't have a harsh scent, is not oily, sticky or heavy and did I mention I love it!?!

Also, don't forget about your back! It needs to be kept clean too. I purchased a brush from my local day spa. A picture of it is below. It's great to use when scrubbing your back.

Smooth As SILK
Let's talk hair removal (ummm yes, i won't do outfit posts, but i'll show my legs...go figure! haha). There's waxing, laser hair removal and many other ways to get rid of hair! But for the most part I shave. I was a Skintimate girl for years! I didn't think ANYthing was better. I was wrong. I tried Pure Silk by accident and I've never looked back. It's cheaper and (in my opinion) better than Skintimate. Wonderful lather, nice choice of soft scents, great coverage and no nicks. You'll have silky smooth legs always. And BTW that's the brush I use on my back.

Cracks Are Whack
It's springtime!!! I hate to see cracked heels on a man or woman. Feet should look cute in sandals, not tore up. Runnnnn and buy this if you want super baby soft feet. It's called Surgeons Skin Secret ( it's a twist up stick: i use the vanilla but there is an unscented version)! You can use it on your feet and hands.

Before using it, file your feet first. I use Flowery's Swedish Clover Foot File (it's so good you guys, and it has a 5 year guarantee). It's also at Amazon. This file will NOT hurt you at all. It get's an A+++ for sloughing off dead skin. You'll thank me! I promise!

Afterwards lotion your feet. Apply the Surgeon's Skin Secret balm (at night) on your heels, toes or wherever you want it soft and sleep with a sock. When you wake up, you will see a miracle.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE both of these products!
I get pedicures, but both are great to use in-between visits.
What do you use to stay smooth?
Part 3 (my beauty regimen finale) will be tomorrow!

  3. Love reading posts like this. Always learn something new and it's also like having a peak in somebody's bathroom (in a perfectly nice girly way, don't get me wrong :D )

Personally, as far as my feet go, I can't get enough of Margaret Dabbs products. I use two, scrub and moisturiser, both last forever and are miracle workers! I am sure you'll be able to find them in the US or on the web. Another great thing about her products is that she doesn't use any parabens etc., so it's more pure and better for the skin. :)

Off to read your previous post now.

  5. I may have to try out that Pure Silk! I use razors with the shaving cream built in (Schick Intuition) to save time but it's getting to be so expensive! Looking forward to part 3, Kim!

  6. Thanks for sharing your regimen with us Kim! I love how my skin feels after a good body scrub, but I always get lazy about exfoliating. My favorite exfoliator is definitely the shea butter one from The Body Shop!

  7. i don't do anything for weeks at a stretch for ahir removal..i mostly do my upper lip area and trim the eyebrows(i like mine thick as you may have seen)..i shave the legs every 3-4weeks i think..hands can go this way for a couple of months..:)
my cracked feet are something i need to take care of though..i just keep forgetting to do anything!

  8. I am so obsessed with my skincare. Like, it isn't even funny. The only stuff I use on my face is by Clinique or Oil of Olay because my skin is sensitive.

  9. That Laura Mercier Creme Brulee Sugar scrub honestly sounds divine. I want to try it now. And so funny that you mentioned you use True Blue spa on everything, not just your feet! I've used it before and often thought about using it elsewhere but never did. So thanks for confirming that I can! Lol. And when it comes to shaving, weirdly enough I use my hair conditioner instead of shaving cream. I dunno, most of the shaving creams I've ever used always irritated my legs. Maybe I could try the pure silk though, and stop using my hair conditioner! Lol. Thanks for sharing Kim! Looking forward to part 3! :)

It's magical! Your hands will feel smooth within seconds. I highly recommend it. My favorite scent is the honey and coriander. Can't wait to read more awesome posts.:)

  27. i use a honey and brown sugar scrub once or twice a week. it's just a drugstore one...can't remember the name as i type this, but it works well. it's my first time using a scrub on a regular basis so i'm sure i'll be trying many others until i find one i stick with!

  28. I always have a pumice stone in the shower and use it every day like brushing my teeth--even so the cold weather has made my feet dry and it's a struggle to keep them smooth and pretty until it gets warmer and I can stop blasting them with the floor heater!

p.s. Thanks so much for stopping by this morning, for some reason random images posted to my blog last night so a bunch of comments had to be deleted but I appreciate you stopping by!

  36. I love scrubs...I love my skin after using them. And I agree with you, I hate cracked up feet. People spend all that time on the rest of themselves and you look down at their cracked up, dry, yellowing feet, makes no sense!! LOL! Feet need love too, Ha! ;-)

  37. Great post! That Creme Brulee body scrub sounds divine. Laura Mercier is very expensive in Ireland though so I probably won't get to try it for a while.

  41. Oohh Kim! Love these tips! My feet always look tore up - I know, bad on my part! I'm pretty lazy about taking care of my feet. But I haven't found a good foot file yet - I'm going to check out the Flowery's. My mom gave me some stuff called "New Feet" by Bette K. I really like how it works to soften my skin!

And your legs looks super smooth! :)
