My Trip to Moody Gardens Resort in Galveston Texas

Jump in the car! We're going on a trip! Watch out, I'm driving! As promised my fashionistas, here are the pics from my trip several weeks ago. I went with my mom to Moody Garden's Resort in Galveston, Texas. She was attending a conference and I thought I would tag along. Instead of flying, we decided to drive there. ROAD TRIP!!! LOL

I DO want to say this about Texas! You'll never run out of gas! There are gas stations EVERYfrickinwhere! I guess because there's so much oil industry there ;) There are also a lot of foodie trucks (as pictured below w/ BBQ)! And you'll see the Texas flag flown everywhere! HaHa I love driving! You can see so much!

BEAUTIFUL HOTEL & LANDSCAPING: The Moody Garden's Resort is very pretty and sits on The Gulf of Mexico.The landscaping of the hotel is gorgeous. There are numerous palm and colorful hibiscus trees. Plenty of sidewalks to walk on, a walking/jogging trail and benches to rest. Very breezy too, because it sits right on the Gulf.

They have 3 HUGE pyramids (left to right): One houses an Aquarium,  the middle pyramid is host to a Bodies Revealed Exhibit and the third one holds a Rainforest Exhibit. I only went to the Aquarium. I had enough Human Anatomy in college not to ever want to see anymore veins, capillaries or arteries. HaHa I didn't go to the Rainforest exhibit, because ummm snakes, bats, alligators and loose monkeys were not my cup of tea.HaHaHa So here are some pics of the landscape and layout of the hotel. We had beautiful weather! Just look at the skies!

YUMMY FOOD! Their food was really good and their prices were amazing. Even room service prices were the best I've ever seen. We had excellent breakfast and dinner/lunch everyday. Their staff was always helpful (the frontdesk people, valet, bellman, golf cart driver and housekeepers were all very sweet). There main hotel restaurant was The Terrace. Here are some pics of the dishes.

THIS IS A FASHION BLOG! I know y'all are saying, Kim did you take any pics of yourself? Well bust out your umbrellas, I surely did and it was an experience. I bow to you daily outfit post fashion bloggers! If I had to do this everyday, I wouldn't make it. HaHaHa

All of my outfit choices came from Target, Old Navy, J Crew, Banana Republic and Gap. I've been working out and losing weight so I haven't spent much on my Summer wardrobe since my sizes are constantly changing. Upon researching the resort, people did not dress up there. So I decided to look fashionably chic on the CHEAP! I think! Y'all be kind to me! LOL

My very 1st pic I cut off my head! LMFAO The 2nd pic, I cut off my feet! OH WELL! Oh and there's a pic of my mom. She's wearing Old Navy too! LMAO My real hair is finally growing out (after the hair catastrophe! LOL).

Outfit:
Target Mossimo Navy and White Striped Maxi Skirt;
Old Navy White Cardigan;
J Crew Navy Sandals (similar)
Outfit:
Old Navy Red Bandana Dress;
Target Black Cardigan (similar);
Banana Republic Black Patent Leather Flip Flops (similar);
Coach Straw Purse (similar)
My Outfit:  Old Navy  Print Dress (similar); Old Navy White Cardigan; JCrew Navy Flip Flops (similar)
My Mom: Old Navy Maxi Dress: Old Navy White Cardigan

Into The Blue! We went to the Moody Garden's Aquarium. It was very nice and HUGE! They have a number of levels to their aquarium and it's filled with the usual and some unusual suspects. I must say, they have the chubbiest penguins and sea lions I have ever seen. HaHa They are eating GOOD! LOL They were very cute. Moody Gardens is a public, non-profit educational destination utilizing nature in the advancement of rehabilitation, conservation, recreation and research.

Somewhere Over The Rainbow! Everything about Moody Garden's is colorful and pretty! Even the tiles on the floor were gorgeous. We only had ONE day of bad weather out of an entire week!!! So they had a 4D show of The Wizard of Oz (what a great thing to see on such a gloomy day!). I walked out to see a rainbow, but there were just dark skies. HaHa They gave us cute room amenities and my best friends for the entire trip were Coppertone and Off Insect Repellant! HaHaHa! So that was my trip! Hope you enjoyed the post!

...And speaking of Texas, has anyone seen the NEW Dallas TV series on TNT? It came on last night. Omg'sh it is SO good! I'm hooked! Love it! It's on every Wednesday night! Check your listings for the exact time. All I can say is Cutie Pie Christopher! And I hate John Ross. LOL
