Lady Gaga's Fame Perfume Launch at Harrods

What are your feelings and thoughts regarding Celebrity Perfumes? Love them? Hate them? Everyone seems to have them. Madonna, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Rihanna and don't mention all of the perfumes Jennifer Lopez has created. Even Justin Bieber has a perfume! The last celebrity perfume I purchased was M from Mariah Carey. That was a long time ago! LOL It was a nice scent, but I've never been a BIG fan of celebrity perfumes overall. I just feel so many are fads that come & go. Maybe I'm wrong? People are still purchasing Elizabeth Taylor's Diamonds perfume and she's gone...God Bless Her Soul.

Well, the launch for Lady Gaga's FAME perfume was held at Harrod's Department Store in London (the US launch occurred months ago). She arrived by horse drawn carriage, stepped out on BLACK carpet instead of red, and wore her signature sky high stilettos minus any egg or meat attire. HaHaHa From the pics on Harrod's website, loads of people attended (they state 3,500). However, what they failed to mention was fans were NOT HAPPY. Fans waited for hours. They were very upset because she was late, nor did she greet or take pics with them. Read HERE. This resulted in a lot of Boooo's! In one of the pics below, it looks like she's connecting with the crowd. Hmmm. Did anyone else hear about or witness this event? Enquiring minds want to know! HaHaHa

  1. That’s an awesome launch and Lady gaga was also pretty with all her jewels. Looking at the crowd and launch I think the perfume is going to be quite popular.

  2. I remember when Britney Spears perfume came out. That's the last celeb perfume I bought. I haven't smelled her perfume, but my guess is that it would be strong and stinky, lol! Heather

  3. I've seen this for sale - have to say the black perfume intrigues me, haven't tried it though.

    Her hand jewellery/hardware is amazing!

  4. Kim hi! I'm back and ready to catch up. Lady Gaga is an attention junkie but we all can be at times. I am not a fan of her gimmicks but then again she is laughing all the way to the bank. I did buy Ed Hardy and J. lo's perfume but they were the last celebrity perfumes I am buying. I love Calyx by Prescriptives and Haiku by Avon. They suit me just fine. I love your new blog design, it is gorgeous. I love the photo of you on the right with your great smile and skin. Your designer is smart and got it just right. Lots of love, dawn suitcase vignettes xo

  5. I've never purchased a celebrity fragrance. Never really found one I liked so I stick with the classics like Chanel. But I do think her bottle is really cool!

  7. I thought she looked fabulous. Big hair and all.

As for celebrity perfumes, I don't mind them. If it smells good, I'll buy it regardless of the celebrity.

  9. I smelled this in the store the other day, it actually isn't that bad, but I said this about a few celebrity perfumes and ended up chucking them out after a while because the smell went off, quite bad. The Britney Spears one went off quite soon as well. Not a big fan of celebrity perfumes...I prefer people who have made it their life's work and craft to learn, know and create a scent. I think some celebs just want fame anywhere they can get it. I heard about the fan thing to, wouldn't surprise me if it was true. People put celebs too high on pedestals and then when they don't act the way we want them to or expect them to, we get pissed off, we should just like them, but not go all crazy on it, then we won't be disappointed! Their people just like anyone else. I like the bottle most of all if I'm honest, it's a slick design :) Have a super day doll xx

  10. I have to say this is the MOST NORMAL i have ever seen her....
I like her music and think she has a voice but opaques herself doing all of these crazy things...
Now, in regards to her perfume.... I would not even try it. I read somewhere that the notes include sperm and blood and its just not appealing to me.

  13. That's really awful if people waited for hours and she showed up late. I've always wondered what celebrities know about perfume. Clearly they're not the ones concocting the scent!

  14. Oh Lady Gaga. I love her, but sometimes I think that if she isn't careful, she'll spiral into madness. She looks great with her new hair color though, and that black number is amazing on her!

  19. This seems rather low key for Lady Gaga lol. It's shame to she didn't really interact with her fans though. I'm not one for celebrity scents. I agree with you that they seem to be mostly fads.

I love the site redesign Kim! It looks fab as does your new profile pic!

  21. Kim honestly I am prejudiced towards celebrities' perfums. I see them as the umpteenth publicity stunt. I have this traditional idea of perfume as a precious gem delivered by skilled masters of the art working for well established brands. Plus, I don't like when stars don't remember who made them stars. xoxo

  22. Be curious to know more about the notes in the fragrance. I'm such a traditionalist though. I love the designer fragrances like Chenel and Dior!

  23. I love Lady Gaga - read about this but didn't see these images. I like fragrance based on scent - so if it smells good I love it :) I don't like all the flack Gaga has been getting about her weight - I think she looks great!

  24. Hi Kim, I LOVE your new layout! Are you using Wordpress? I'm hoping to change my blog too but not anytime soon.

As for Gaga, I haven't check out her perfume yet because I'm not a huge fan of celebrity perfumes. I'm still using my Jo Malone. I love Gaga though! Can't wait to see her in January! Have a great week!

  26. Great pics, Kim! Like you, I've never been a fan of celebrity perfumes! I tried a lot, but never seemed to like the scent, and I'm so disappointed with almost all of them that I don't even think of tying this one!! Moreover, with all due respect to Ms. Gaga, the very thought of someone wearing a meat dress and promoting a perfume kinda pisses me off!

  29. I work in the beauty industry so I'm really close to this topic. Honestly I'm kind of sick of celebrity everything whether it's fragrance or gracing magazines covers.

But that being said, I do make my living partially because of celeb fragrances.

I was really surprised with the scent of the fragrance itself. The description that came out way before launch was that it was supposed to smell like blood and {sorry to be explicit} semen but it's actually quite pleasant.

  30. Gaga looks amazing! I feel like every celebrity has a perfume line nowadays, but I never really buy them, even if it's someone that I really love. I don't know why, I think I just prefer the other brands.

  34. Overall, I also don't like celebrity perfumes...I feel like it's just about "Me too...Me too, I have a perfume that my fans can buy solely because they love me and they are my fans". Most of these perfumes, even the celebrities themselves can wear it. However, some of them are descent and have won high appraisal from buyers like Britney Spears perfumes :)

  35. I have to say...I'm not a fan of celebrity made fragrances. I'm not sure if any of them even smell good because I decline to smell them! There's nothing wrong with them...but I'm a bit tired of having celebrities collaborate on everything.

Having said that, I am curious to know how Lady Gaga's fragrance smells. haha...

  37. LOVE the new layout girl! (Sorry if it's been a bit since you changed it..)

I don't wear perfume so the whole celebrity scent thing is pretty much lost on me. It just seems like a silly way for them to make money. Do any of them actually even wear their own scent? And when they have 100 different scents (like Paris Hilton) are we supposed to believe that they wear all of them?

I can see why they do it though & I can see why certain people (devoted fans) buy the perfumes & the shoes & the bags & the ...

  39. i've not bought any celeb perfumes but i was given the first one by SJP, i think it's called lovely - finished it ages ago and actually really liked it.

Not really a Lady Gaga fan but the launch event looks awesome! I heard the perfume sprays on black but fades when dried.. so weird but I guess that's kind of cool in a Gaga way..

    :)

  40. That's possibly the prettiest I've seen Gaga look, I really like her big hair and hand piece. Celebrity perfume has never appealed to me, although I did like SJP's perfume for awhile years ago but I'd be curious to smell Gaga's!

  45. I love perfumes and right now, I am using Bvlgari. Among celebrity perfumes, I have not bought any but I feel that Chanel no.5 is really awesome. There is a Swedish brand called Oriflame and this season they have launched a really good perfume which I intend to buy because never before I came across such a lovely scent as this one { I tried a sample}.The name of the perfume is "PARADISE".

  46. i'm not big with celebrity prefumes - i just don't necessarily want to smell like lady gaga. i feel like her scent would have to be out there, like crazy out there. i wonder what this smells like

  47. I've had her perfume since early August, and I gotta say I really like it. It's not as sweet as other celebrity scents usually are nowadays, but not as dark as you would expect from Lady Gaga.
