L'Officiel Netherlands Lais Ribeiro in Toda Menina Baiana

Let's take a blog mental trip to Salvador da Bahia, Brazil. A real trip would be nice, but ummm yeah anyway! hahaha Blogging is escapism for me (that's why I enjoy doing it as a hobby). It allows you to see beautiful places, cultures, people and things. You know you have a FABULOUS photographer, when they mentally transport you to a place you've never seen, heard or been to before AND make you FEEL like you're actually there! You can feel the energy, excitement and emotions coming from each and every picture! That's what I felt when I saw this photoshoot!

Model Lais Ribeiro is lensed by photographer Michael Roberts for the February Issue of L'Officiel Netherlands Magazine. Stylist Monica Pillosio dons Lais in Chanel, Valentino, Giorgio Armani, Versace, Isabel Marant, Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, Gucci, Stella McCartney, Dior, Kenzo, Burberry Prorsum and Victoria Beckham. This photoshoot is absolutely awesome. Makes me wanna go to Brazil and celebrate CARNIVAL! Mardi Gras has already begun in New Orleans. Oh I digress! As usual...but anywayyyy...HaHaHa

  1. What a stunning editorial! I can only think of a few others - An American in Paris from Elle UK a few years ago comes to mind, as does a very old black and white spread from Vogue - that have made me feel so transported to another world. The fashion is almost secondary in these photos because the scenery is so interesting, it's like National Georgraphic meets Harper's Bazaar! I might never have seen this otherwise, so thanks for sharing Kim; it's going straight in my inspiration folder :)

  2. It's a beautiful story, but (sorry about buts...) it's "inspired" by an editorial from Elle USA April 2006 with Ana Beatriz Barros who I adore. Google it - you will be amazed. ;)

  6. I always find it a little bizarre when fashion magazines use local people as props...

  11. This is a gorgeous editorial that makes me want to book a trip to Brazil stat lol. You're right - it's really great when location shoots infuse the culture of where they are. The white fashions look so chic. I couldn't help but wonder if the jewelry in that last photo are heavy hehe.
