Lucky Charms

Lucky Cat...Rabbit's Foot...Lucky Horseshoe...Four Leaf Clover...These are just a sampling of good luck charms people from various cultures believe in. Do you have any personal good luck charms or superstitions? Did your family pass any of them on to you? I've adopted some practices from Chinese New Year (CNY) and I pray, but that's about it. Tell me your feelings about this, your story or if you know someone that does believe in good luck practices.

  1. Haha, I think all I do is to keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best ;-) Maybe a little lucky charm might help... Have a lovely start to the week xo

PS: I've emailed Bloglovin' as I'm having trouble "claiming" my blog since it's self-hosted. Hopefully it'll be sorted soon xo

  4. I have to admit, I'm not a particularly spiritual person, and I'm definitely not superstitious. Practising yoga is about as close as I get to anything like that :) But I can't resist that good luck cats - Vancouver has a large Chinese population and we see them everywhere. That charm is just too cute!

  8. I think in our family they were all passed down to us! I know if anyone is taking exams or starting a new job we send a card often with a four leaf clover on the front and the bride and groom often receive a horseshoe on their wedding day. Cute charms here Kim.

  10. I'm Christian, so I pray, but even in my younger, more "heathen" days I didn't really have a good luck charm. I'm loving the kitty one here though :) (This is reminding me vaguely of a post I wrote over a year ago: http://bikbikroro.blogspot.sg/2012/01/on-superstition-and-faith.html )

  11. The lucky cat is so cute! I gave my bestie a lucky cat charm and she used to clip it on her bags for interviews to give her luck, I thought it was so sweet she did that :)
I make sure to take a bag or a bag with a charm that reminds me of her when I feel I need a little luck too, hehe!

  12. I quite like a lot of the feng shui practices for good luck, keeping doormat and entrance area dust and debris free (especially if you've got a business) two pillows or pairs of things in a couples bedroom, not sitting with your back to the doorway or sleeping with your legs/feet pointing to a doorway! I'm also superstitious about the number 11, and enjoy seeing the time coincidentally if it's 11.11! I also have a little beaded bracelet I wear to work if I think my stress levels might rise, and it reminds me not to stress! Funny. Xx

  13. I'm not one to be too superstitious, but I do wear my horseshoe necklace. You never know, right? Heather

  14. Ohh these are absolutely adorable, I wouldn't mind a closer or horseshoe and luckily Pandora is a brand we actually get here in SA!

  15. i used to be somewhat superstitious during school, specially around exams.i am not so now. i don't believe in lucky charms or colors or objects. i feel like that way i am expecting for something that may not be and i am opening myself to disappointment in case things don't go the right way.

  16. My boyfriend brought me a four-leaf clover pendat from Ireland and I always wear it whenever I'm flying somewhere or having an exam :)
I love Pandora's ring collection and these charms are very beautiful as well!
    Have a lovely week, Kim!

  17. I have to be honest, I don't believe in charms unless, of course, somebody is convinced that the one they've got brings them luck. However, I believe in signs and certain things like stones (not too much, but I enjoy learning the meaning of stones, flowers etc.) and I carry two little soft bunnies in my bag and, if I have an important meeting, always wear a necklace given to me by my husband. :) Every little helps, you know. :) :) :)

  19. I love charms, Kim ... I've never really had a true charm bracelet that's filled with charms signifying important times in my life but I've always wanted one and I'm sure I'll end up starting one some time soon ... as far as lucky charms? I sometimes save my fortune from fortune cookies (have been known to frame the really good ones!) but no lucky charms that I know of. Just prayer and trusting that all will be fine ;) Thanks for your sweet comment, Kim sweet ... have a great new week! xo ~S

  21. I used to carry a felt good luck charm with a few Japanese words in it that was made by one of my good friends. It's too faded and worn out to tote around with me now, but I still have it.
