Skin Food: Tea Tree Cleansing Foam, Banana Yogurt Mask, Coconut Body Scrub, Avocado Rich Essence Mask Sheet Product Review

Skin Food is a South Korean company located in Seoul, known for producing skincare and cosmetics made from natural food ingredients. The owner of the company has been involved in the skincare business since 1957. Their logo is a guardian angel and it was designed to convey the message to their customers of the purity and goodness of their products.(source)

The words food and natural are what peaked my interest in Skin Food. This company  has a HUGE range of products, so you definitely want to read up on what will work for your type of skin. Many of their products will work for various skin types. I ordered an arrangement of goodies and was VERY impressed with Skin Food's products! I will be ordering more and doing more reviews on their products. Here's what I tried and how I rated them.
Tea Tree Cleansing Foam
Skin Food's Tea Tree Cleansing Foam is SUPERSweet!
I'm extremely smitten with the Tea Tree Cleansing Foam cleanser by Skin Food. I haven't had one break out! My skin feels super smooth & soft. It has a very soft tea tree scent and it lathers up nicely. This tube contains a lot of product! I've been using it for a month and I still have 1/2 the tube left. Your face feels clean, but not dry after using it. For the record, I have dry & sensitive skin. I experienced no adverse health reactions while using this product. This cleanser has tea tree extract, a natural antibacterial agent and AHA to effectively exfoliate dead skin with deep cleaning. This cleanser is about $8 - $10 on eBay.

Banana Yogurt Mask
Skin Food's Banana Yogurt Mask is SUPERsweet!
If you're looking for moisture and soothing for your skin, this is the mask for you! It feels SO good when you apply it. It has an AUTHENTIC banana scent. You'll go bonkers over the banana scent!!! When you twist the lid open it smells like bananas. Nothing phony or fake about it. It even has small bits of granules in it (like banana pieces or something).

This mask never dries on your face or peels! It's not that type of mask. It's also not one that will exfoliate. Again, MOISTURE and SOOTHING is what it does! A treat for your face. I SUPER LOVE IT! This is about $8 on eBay.

Coconut Body Scrub
Skin Food's Coconut Body Scrub is Sweet!
If you're looking for a scrub to add moisture and softness to your skin, then this is your scrub. This body scrub DOES NOT have a coconut scent (at least not to my nose!). It's more like maple. It looks like it contains two kind of granules. Maybe the white is the coconut. Exfoliation is very light. It's a gentle scrub (more of a moisturizer in my opinion). This scrub makes your skin feel smooth and soft. My skin had a glow after using it.

This is about $12 on eBay! I really like it, but I was disappointed it didn't  have a coconut scent.

Avocado Rich Essence Mask Sheet
Skin Food's Avocado Rich Essence Mask Sheet is Sweet!
You will look like Jason from the movie Halloween (all Asian masks look that way) when you put this mask on, but your skin will feel so soft afterwards. This sheet does smell like avocadoes, but it's a very nice and pleasing scent. It's dripping with product. It adheres to the face well. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes or more and rub the remaining in. It feels cool to the skin. This mask contains avocado oil essence, Vitamins A & D, hyaluronic acids (moisturization) and beta glucans (skin resiliency). Once I removed the mask, my skin looked plump, had a healthy glow and felt very moisturized. Once it dries, you still feel the product. I really liked it. These masks cost from $4-$8 on eBay. You only get ONE, so I thought it was expensive.

Tomorrow, I'll start with the popular Etude House brand!
It's geared more to teens, but a LOT of adults buy from them too! HAHAHAHA
If you have a favorite product from Skin Food, let me know! I'm a NEWBIE!
Have A Great Day!

  1. Wow Kim these look good enough to eat. I am really into organic skincare at the moment (fed-up of paying for products that smell lovely and don't deliver ;-)
You mentioned you can buy on e-bay. Is it safe to buy from e-bay i.e are these the genuine product? Always a bit wary of e-bay for some things .

  3. Ooh I really want to try these products Kim. I love how all the foods they use like coconut, avocado and banana are all so soothing and smell good in the first place. I'm always on the outlook for new skin products, especially if they make my skin smoother.

  9. I love Skin Food products. My favorite product from them would have to be their Skin Food Lime Secret Shine Base in Pearl. It is used as a primer but gives you an extra wow factor because it gives you a certain glow. I also super love the Skin Food All Over Muffin Cake Finish in nude hues. It is perfect for contouring! And as for Etude, I have their BB Magic Cream. I used it for a couple months but I stopped using it because I fell in love with a different Korean Brand, MISSHA. I do love Etude's cute packaging. You should try Missha products too. They are a bit more expensive compared to Skin Food and Etude but it is absolutely worth it. I have Missha's Signature BB cream and it comes in the most gorgeous package ever. The BB cream is super light weight and very spreadable. I heard Skin 79 is a good Korean product too but I haven't tried it yet. So far Missha has really won my heart. =)

I dont remember what exactly i bought a few years ago. It was some sort of emulsion which worked quite well. I am on a hunt for a goos Korean BB cream next.

We have Skin Food stores here and their products are reasonably priced. I use to buy their mask in sheets and my favourite was the one with Aloe Vera. If I'm out in the sun the whole day, I would take a pack and put it in the freezer and after shower, I will put it on for about 15 minutes. Feels really good!
