Peppermints and Poinsettias

I'm taking you guys shopping with me today! Only 7 more days until Christmas! Excited MUCH! I made a quick run to Lakeside Mall the other day. I needed a particular item from Bath & Body Works. They were out of what I needed at the store closest to me, so I had to go to the MALL. I dreaded going, because shopping malls are super crazy the week before Christmas. I'm glad I went though, because I would've missed out on all the pretty holiday decorations. Remember Lakeside's Halloween decorations? Well below are the Christmas decorations. I couldn't resist taking a couple of snap shots for you guys. Very Festive!

The picture on your left are Christmas cakes! The one towards the back, is decorated & shaped like peppermint candy. It's even wrapped like one. I thought both were cute and wanted to show them to you. The bakery that makes them is called Sucre (featured here and here)! Sucre also makes pretty "present" cakes :)

Reindeer adorned with ornaments were located outside the shopping mall. Mr. Bingle is a classic New Orleans figure that's popular for Christmas. You can read more about Mr. Bingle HERE. For locals, this doll and other Mr. Bingle Christmas paraphernalia is at Dillards.

Loved these potted poinsettias throughout the mall. There were even Christmas trees with poinsettias around them. Very beautiful. I could've sat all day by the flowing fountains (below) looking at The Nativity Scene. Very tranquil. Very peaceful.

Bath & Body Works was really festive. I loved the giant bows hanging from the ceilings. So pretty. I also got a chance to wear my new Talbots quilted jacket. Very comfy & cozy. Can't you tell I'm thrilled waiting in line? *side eye* LOL

Any gingerbread lovers in the house? That was the theme for this year's mall decorations. I thought they were really cute! It was a joyous mix of gingerbread people, peppermint candy, frosted snow and lighted Christmas trees. Catch them if you can! They're the gingerbread men. :) Hope you enjoyed.

Ugh, we went shopping in NYC this past weekend and Sunday was torturous. I hate long lines! It was nice we got started early though. A poor guy was working at a men's clothing store since it opened at 6 am and we were his first customers at almost 9 am!

Glad you survived a trip to the mall with a week to Christmas too - although I'm going shopping tomorrow I'm heading to the outlets that are a bit out of the way, and crossing my fingers they won't be too busy!

  53. Kim, I love your blog. This Christmas mall one was such fun. Can you tell me how you do the continuous loop pictures? I would love to try to do one of my kids. Another blog had one of her family at the ocean, which I thought was clever. Keep finding pretty things for us.

  54. Hello. My name is Joie, and I'm a Bath and Body Works addict.
It's been 2 days since I last shopped there, and Thursday before last, I may have spammed my husband's phone with texts requesting we stock up on candles.

Seriously...I need a 12 step problem for this...so bad. But so good!
