Too Faced Melted Lipstick, Benefit Tinted Lip Balm and Philosophy Fresh Cream Review & Swatches

Hey Everybody! I'm out of town (that's why blogging is erratic), but I found an ULTA yesterday (our ULTA in New Orleans doesn't have a cute fountain)! HaHaHa Beauty lovers will FIND an ULTA or Sephora no matter what city they are in. I found Sephora, but it's in the mall. So, it's a little harder to get to. But anyway, right now I'm in Cincinnati, Ohio. So you may see some Cincy sights on my blog. I ran into ULTA to pick up Philosophy's Fresh Cream (one of my wish list items) and to swatch Too Faced's Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick. Here are my thoughts!

Sweet-Bittersweet-NotSweet
supersweet(run & buy it) sweet(really good,buy it) bittersweet(ok, issues)not sweet(not good,don't buy this stuff)

Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick - $21 - Sweet
The quality of these are excellent! I was impressed! There are TEN SHADES (but Ulta only had SIX displayed). These have a nice gloss/shine, but they're not over-the-top glossy and shiny that you'll get the color on your front teeth, hair and/or anything else. HaHaHa That's what I was worried about. Have no worries about that. Plus, they're highly moisturizing and pigmented! Now, what you do have to worry about is COLOR (some are BOLD!) and these colors look DIFFERENT on every skin tone!!! If you go to their website (they have swatches on two different skin tones). Those swatches look DIFFERENT on all three of us! So you'll HAVE to go into the store to get a TRUE reading how the color will come off on you. Here's my take! The melted nude is like a peachy clay. The melted peony is like a dusty or petal pink. The melted coral is like an orange coral. The melted violet is a lavender purple. The melted fuchsia is a SUPER (more than the picture shows) BRIGHT hot pink. The melted ruby is a berry red (prettiest out the bunch). I don't really need any of THESE colors, so I skipped purchasing it. But I thought I would share my thoughts and swatches with you (as promised yesterday).
Benefit Tinted Lip Balms - $18 - Not Sweet
Benefit just released these lip balms and I'm not impressed. I quickly swatched them. Love the packaging! That I do LOVE! They swivel up just like a lipstick and properly cap. But look at these swatches!!! I believe lip balms should be lightly tinted, but this is WEAK as far as color goes. Plus, do they look moisturizing on my arm? I'll answer that for you! They are NOT (dry and a little sticky). Save your $18...add $4 more and go buy yourself a FRESH Lip Balm! You'll thank me!

Philosophy Fresh Cream - $17 - Bittersweet
And THIS is really what I stopped in ULTA for! There were only 2 (body washes) left in the store (no body lotion...what I went for)! I Rannnnn (Flock of Seagulls Song - I Ran) to the 2 bottles of Fresh Cream left and started sniffing. I'm a minimalist, but this barely has a scent at all. HAHAHA I kept sniffing! It's TOO SOFT for me! It's nice...but. I know this doesn't make sense, but imagine yourself sniffing clouds (in the sky). HaHaHa Hardly any scent at all (that's what I would guess)! HAHAHA I will tell you this! Pink Frosted Animal Cracker was nice (it's much sweeter)! So in the end, I struck OUT at Ulta and didn't buy anything :(. Can you believe that? But I hope this post helped you! I'll let you know how I make out at Sephora. My Archipelago review will be my next post ...

  2. I wish my Ulta has a fountain nearby. That really adds a nice touch, but then I'll want to go all the time, so maybe not, lol! Thanks for the review on the Philosophy, i would have bought that because I normally like most of their scents. The name itself was so enticing, so I wouldnt have thought twice. Now, i'll make sure it's off my list.

  3. Shame you didn't end up buying anything, but at least you were informed so you didn't buy something you'd end up not using :)

Hope you are having fun on your trip - hopefully it's for fun reasons that you are out of town :)

  9. What a great day out shopping (sorry about no body lotions, though). Loved the lipstick shades, especially the nude one - the rest would look to bright for me, but I just adore the swatches, I feel happy looking at them somehow. :)

  14. Ahhh I love these Melted's. I wasn't sure on your wish list but I love the swatches and the fact that they are called Melted totally has me. It's like lipstick melted on your lips. I especially like melted nude and melted peach (can you tell I'm a sucker for neutrals)? Thank you for trying to vote for me on Cosmo by the way. I think the form is offline cos voting is closed but I really do appreciate the effort. Thanks, and hope your week is going sweeeell!

  26. Not sure there's an ULTA or Sephora in my country. But I do like the lip balm. One of the things I can't live without is a lip balm or a lip gloss coz my lips always get chappy. Thanks for sharing, maybe I can find them online.

  30. Oh, I'm a sucker for bright lips. I would probably end up walking away with the melted fuchsia and melted ruby. Seriously, in the summer (once I'm tan) I like to wear BRIGHT lips and mascara, maybe eyeliner if I'm feeling fancy, and that's it. :) Then in the winter I do all my focusing on eyes. haha, I don't know why I flip-flop depending on the season. Lovely reviews!

  34. Re: your comment on double cleansing. I have pretty sensitive skin and I haven't experienced any irritation since doing this. The key is to use products made for your skin type. Exfoliating with an oil cleanser is actually gentler than other methods.
