Wash. Fluff. Fold.

How's everybody doing? Nothing fancy today, I'm doing laundry. I changed my laundry detergent about a month ago. I use to be a "i'll-never-use-anything-else-but-powder-detergent-girl, but now I'm a liquid detergent girl. HaHaHa Not only that, but strongly-scented products are really becoming a turn off for me. I'm looking for anything free of dyes, perfumes AND for sensitive skin! I seem to be in that category now. HaHaHa I'm currently using Tide Free & Gentle, but I'm open to other brands (if you have any suggestions, let me know in my comments section). Is it better to use liquid fabric softener or softener sheets? I have so many questions. I even switched my bar soap from Dial anti-bacterial (which left me too clean) to Dove for sensitive skin. I really like Dove. What kind of detergent or soap powder do you use? How do you wash, fluff & fold? I'm usually in shorts and a tee. HaHaHa The models in the "Wash Away" fashion editorial by L'Officiel NL (August 2014) are all dressed up. HaHaHa Have a BUBBLY DAY and WASH AWAY...WASH AWAY!

  1. That shoot is hilarious! Fashion editorials never run out of ideas do they?? You know I thought I was using an Eco-friendly product for years until I found out it was full of palm oil!!! It was Earth's Choice. I had no idea palm oils would be in clothes washing detergents. In a quandary now. Hate strong perfumed detergents. :D x

  7. Oddly enough, I love scented detergents. I always feel like it smells fresh and clean. I know some people have a sensitivity to the smell though.

  8. What? You don't do laundry like that girl in the editorial? I always dress up like that for laundry day....bwahaha!
And we usually just use whatever's on sale, but ALWAYS do a double rinse:)

  9. Love this photoshoot in a laundry mat. And I know what you mean, I switched to liquid detergent a few years ago and love it. I had to learn all the washing machine terms in German now after I destroyed a couple of my hubby's shirts. hehe

I will have to try this Tide next time I'm in the US.

  14. Wow, what a creative shoot! I am like you - I don't like overly strong scents in my detergent. Best of luck with the sensitive skin!

  15. Very cute post indeed. The photos even make it so much cuter. Hmm..i tend to switch a lot when it comes to cleaning agents like laundry detergents, but after using several different brands in the past, i have just come to the conclusion, Tide it is. It definitely washes better than most in my opinion. Until i find any other one that beats it, i am Tide all the way baby :)). Thanks for sharing darling.

  18. What a fun editorial! Personally, I'm a liquid detergent kind of gal. I've tried detergent pods, too, but in the end I always go back to liquid. And the lighter the scent, the better!

  20. I just did laundry yesterday Kim! It's not on of my favorite chores I just admit. I've used liquid detergent for as long as I remember. I can't stand any scents so I use Method Free + Clear. It's ultra concentrated so so I just need 2 pumps. And I also use their Free + Clear softener. It's a little pricier but totally worth it :)

  21. i'm usually in my pjs doing laundry! :) and i've used liquid detergent for a long time and drying sheets. i actually have no idea why i use that combo. i actually preferred the powder because i hate washing off the cap after filling the washer but never actually used it. oh the way my mind thinks and how my body reacts is sometimes a mystery to me :) happy laundry!

  30. I used to use liquid bc it was easier, but I've been using powder lately because it's cheaper and lasts longer.

I'm not overly concerned about what my clothes are washed in, as long as they're clean and have a fresh scent then I'm happy :)

  39. This is a really cute shoot, I used to love going to the laundry mat with my mom as a kid, I would always find change that someone left in the machine and buy little debbie cakes and cheetos from the vending machine, haha!! I use liquid detergent but as I type I can't remember what it's called, hahaha. My fabric softener smells like flowers. Happy Wednesday doll xx

  40. I usually use Tide too but the powder one. And I don't mind the smell coz they're all ok. I just choose which is cheaper. Ha! But most of the time I go to the laundry shop and have someone else do my laundry.

  45. I use Tied too! But we use their sports detergent. I use the drier sheets, but that's because my washer doesn't have a liquid softener dispenser and I never remember to stop the wash at the right time to add the softener. That makes using the sheets an easy no-brainer. If you've got a dispenser, though, I say go for it with liquid! Largely because then if you have clothing that needs to air dry it will still be soft and cuddly. :)

  48. What a cute editorial! I don't even know what we use, whatever is on sale at Costco I think, hahaha! When we run out, I want to try making my own, apparently it isn't too hard. We use Target (Up & UP?) brand softer, lilac scent. It works well since we air-dry our clothes, there isn't much of a scent.

I use liquid free & clear from Kirkland and Kirkland liquid fabric softener and Kirkland fabric softener sheets in the dryer. So I guess I'm a Kirkland girl that loves Costco! I use Dove soap too for sensitive skin. I'm doing laundry as we speak. Lol! Have a nice night.

  61. The laundry editorial is such a beautiful complement to your post on detergent. I wished I could look that glamorous doing the laundry. I know that powder or liquid would perform better with front load and top load washing machines. Liquid for me since powder does leave their traces at times when the churning of the machine isn't working well due to an overload.

  63. I never look like that when I do my laundry :-) How fun chatting over detergents and softeners :-) by the way... I use liquid detergent because I wash at low temperatures and I find powder doesn't dissolve completely in cold water. In Italy we don't use softening sheets, but only liquid softener or crystals (they are more for the scent than for the softening properties). I go easy both on detergents and softener because they aren't that healthy for the skin. A friend of mine says she uses white vinegar instead of softener, and it makes wonders (she doesn't smell like vinegar so you may want to try this one). I don't use a soap bar but liquid soap, I mean for my hands. For my face I have been using only micellar water. Did I talk too much?? Have a great week my dear!

  64. I prefer using Arm and Hammer, they have a great scent and dye free liquid version for sensitive skin. I have actually used it on the baby's clothes and it didn't irritate her skin so that's a winner!!

Call me old fashioned, but I looove the dryer sheets instead of liquid softener!

I've also made my own laundry detergent and that was pretty cool!
