Soap & Glory Hand Food Product Review

Will you like Soap & Glory's Hand Food hydrating hand cream ($15 RRP/ $15 USD)? I think it will depend on two things! The level of hydration your skin requires and scent.

Although this hand cream comes out marshmallow-y thick, rich & creamy (it contains shea butter, macadamia oil and marshmallow)...it's very light when it comes to hydration and moisture. If your skin doesn't require much moisture, then this will work for you. If you have dryyy...camel....palm tree ...cactus ... or sahara dry skin, like mine .... it will suck up Hand Food and then laugh at it. This isn't for dry skin girls, unless you want to continuously apply it. You'll need something much richer and definitely more moisturizing.

I like the fact that it's fast absorbing, non-greasy nor oily, but it still doesn't pack a punch in my opinion. There's also the scent. It falls under their Original Pink Fragrance family of scent (in which I'm not a big fan of). So you definitely want to smell this before purchasing. I will say it smells better (scent calms down) after it has dried. Hand Food has a huge cult following! MANY people love and even praise it! I personally think it's over-rated and that you can find much better hand creams out there. To read my thoughts on other Soap & Glory products. Click HERE.

  3. Hi Kim, Id probably purchase it only for the scent since as you said isnt good for dry skin and when it comes to hands, I usually prefer something more hydrating and nourishing! Have a good Tue Kim, hugs! xo

  4. Too bad it's not as amazeballz as the other Soap and Glory stuff you reviewed. The ingredients all sound good, but if they don't do what they're supposed to do....sigh....
Thanks for this honest review, Kim. You rock! :)

  9. Your reviews are the best. If something is not worth it I definitely like to know. I would like to get a product like this though.

  10. I agree -you can find better products out there but at the same time I do love the scent of this….actually most of S&G Products!!

A lot of their products are over-hyped though but that's down to the beauty bloggers who love their products regardless! My favourite hand cream is from The Body Shop…it's actually a Body Butter and it's mandarin, so refreshing with a touch of sweetness…it sinks into skin quickly and leaves them feeling silky soft! :)

    Long comment - sorry!

  13. I've found myself drawn to this at Sephora but wasn't sure how it would work so your review couldn't be more perfect Kim! It does sound lovely but I think this would be a pass for me based on what you said about it's hydrating abilities. Thanks for another honest review!

  17. I guess this would not be a choice for me.
I continue to be a total fan of Crabtree and Evelyn hand creams and if those are not available, L'Occitane hand creams work marvellously well.

  18. Great review!! My hands get dry, but not crazy dry, and this works well for me! I got a small tube of it for $5 at sephora but I don't think i would buy a full size

  20. I love that you're always so honest in your reviews, Kim! My skin isn't super dry so this might work for me... but I tend to prefer more moisture anyway, so I'll probably stick to my old favourites from The Body Shop!

  21. It's good that the hand cream is non-greasy even though it is thick. Looks like a very nice product.

  24. I usually have dry hands. Even after hand washing clothes without gloves, my hands get flaky. So, this probably isn't for me. And I'm very particular about the scent too when I use lotions or creams. Thanks for the honest review.

  25. I usually have dry hands during winter but I use oils as hand creams (coconut being most favorite) and they work very well for me. Love the packaging of this brand. Very honest and informative review. :)

  48. I am probably quite biased as I do love Soap and Glory's body butter...and I remember doing a review on Hand Food some years ago. I have been using Hand Food on and off, as somehow the moisturising properties only seem to last for an initial period before it wears thin again. But I agree its not for everyone. have a fabulous weekend Kim!

  61. This stuff works for me, but in the long run for using it, it's a bit hit and miss. Doesn't give my hands what I need every day. Sometimes they are drier than other days and I don't think this often works and other days it does. I prefer other natural hand creams to this like L'Occitane or The Body Shop even! xx

  62. My hands are very dry even in Summer, sometimes I apply pure shea butter and they eat it up! So this is not the product for me!
