Benefit Instant Comeback Facial Serum Review

Does this work? Nooooooooo! I LOVE Benefit's Skincare Collection (currently using and loving it), but I have NO LOVE for their Instant Comeback Facial Serum. It comes in a pretty bottle, applies beautifully, but that is where the magic stops. Once applied, it feels heavy & sticky on the skin. Not a good feeling. It doesn't blend or work well with makeup. So you can't use it during the day. It's suppose to plump, hydrate, firm, smooth and energize tired skin. It didn't for me! I've tried this both morning & night since December and nada (nothing). No miracles. No comeback. No bounce back. No fountain of youth. No genie in a bottle. Save your money. Do you use serums? Any recommendations?

  1. Oh no! That's so sad - I love their SPF and had high hopes for this and the rest of their skincare!

  6. Never even seen this before, but I'll look the other way if I do happen to see it. What a shame...I used a serum once before a long time ago and it was nice. Shame this one wasn't!! Happy day doll xx

  7. Oh noes! Sorry to hear this one's no good, Kim:( I love serums myself, and the one I've been recommending to people is the Vichy LiftActiv one. I also heard great things about the Kate Sommerville one but haven't tried it yet.

  10. I love your honesty, Kim and thank you for the heads up on this, I absolutely adore serum and was hoping to get this once my current ones run out. I'm currently bouncing between 3 serums, Korres, Strivectin and Rodial. What can I say, I'm a serum addict. :-P

  11. This sounds like everything a serum isn't supposed to be Kim! I'm using Valentia Even Glow serum which is a vitamin C serum and I love it.

  12. too bad this didn't work for you!!! I've never tried it. The serum I've been using right now is kind of sticky feeling too, so I only use it at night. And then I use my night cream over top of it and it takes away the sticky and feels great. Maybe try using it with your moisturizer and see how it goes?

  13. Oh wow, yeah, I cannot handle sticky on my face, YUCK. You really did well with trying everything with this product, Kim!

  15. I always respect your honesty when you write your reviews Kim. This serum doesn't sound like it would appeal to me either if it feels sticky and heavy on the skin. I've been a fan of Clinique's Reparwear Laser Focus for quite a long time now and it really feels good on the skin.

  17. I'm always skeptical of serums because they promise miracles. The only one I've ever had deliver was one that treated adult acne - the rest are all hocus pocus as far as I can tell. And based on your review, it sounds like I'm right.

  20. I really love their "Puff Off" with the little iron (seriously, AMAZING...though a bit expensive). I'm sad this doesn't work though.

The kit I won from you is fantastic though!!! I love the face lotion!

  21. oh, Benefit what a shame. Somehow I have developed dislike to this brand. Not sure why, maybe because most of the products I have tried have been no worth any hype and usually at the counter works I woulds say unprofessional people. I hope you can be able to return this product.

  22. Aww, it's a shame it doesn't work as it certainly looks adorable! :)

Good on you for trying it for so long to see if you got any results, it's a shame the persistence didn't pay off for you!

I got a gift of a fancy serum somewhere....but I've never used it as I have no idea how to, ha! I keep meaning to look it up but never get around to it :P

That could be a series you could do on your blog - beauty for dummies! haha! I'd have so many questions I could send you for that!!! :)

  23. Too bad this didn't work for you. I use serums religously because my skin gets dehydrated with the change of seasons here. During the week I use the Chanel Le Blanc Brightening TXC and during the Weekend, I use the Chanel Le Weekend. I love them both especially the Le Weekend. I highly recommending the Chanel Serums. Their Hydra Beauty Serum has excellent reviews too.

  24. This sound so sad! Actually I do not use serum.

  25. I have always loved Benefit Cosmetics but never tried their skincare for some odd reason. Good serum can be difficult to come across. Most of the brand I tried either didn't provide enough moisture or was too greasy. What a bummer, Kim. Booo to this serum.

  26. I'm not exactly sure what is serum but my sister-in-law gave me a bottle to try out. It's very runny but keeps my face hydrated. Too bad this one didn't work out. Have a great weekend Kim!

  28. Ah Kim, everytime you did a bad review you made me smile as I totally love how you are honest and fun at the same time. What a shame, for sure it is a waste of money! I have a passion for serums you know, at the moment Im using a plain one from Nivea, it is good and works. Have a lovely weekend Kim, hugs! xo

  29. This does not sound good at all! I have not tried any Benefit skin care, but I will steer clear of this one if I decide to give it a try. Thank you for being so honest!

  32. Oh no, thanks for letting us know. I'm definitely not a fan of serums in general since they all seem really sticky on my face; I hate that feeling on my skin.

  33. Serums are so pricy (generally); so, this is good to know! T. http://tickledpinkwoman.blogspot.com

  34. That is too bad about this serum and I'm surprised because benefit usually has good products. Have a nice weekend.

  39. Thanks for the review! I use the Soap & Glory "Make Yourself Youthful" serum and really love it. Can tell a big difference in my skin when I use it vs. when I don't, and get compliments on my complexion. It's light and works perfectly under makeup. Highly recommend.
