Benefit Cosmetics Dandelion Ultra Plush Lip Gloss Review & Swatches

Benefit's Dandelion Ultra Plush Lip Gloss was one of the items I won in the Klout Benefit #Curlfriends Contest. The only other lip gloss I've ever tried from Benefit was Coralista (2012). It was a really pretty, soft coral color on the lips. When I swatched Dandelion on the back of my hand, it looked peachy. When I applied it to my lips, it was a soft pink. That's why I appreciate when beauty bloggers show lip swatches, because swatches on the back of your hand can truly be deceptive. In bright sunlight, this lip gloss comes across clear. So there's definitely a play on color when it comes to this lip gloss. How does it feel? Pretty good. It's a little heavy for my taste, but I find it to be creamy & moisturizing. It has a delightfully sweet candy scent to it. It moisturized my lips for hours, before having to reapply. However, it's easily transferable on utensils, drinkware, food etc. The tube is small, but it's packed with product (you don't need much). So this will last for a VERY LONG TIME! I also love the angled applicator. Overall it's nice, but there's nothing about this lip gloss that has me swinging from the chandeliers or wanting another one. Maybe paired with the Dandelion blush, it would have a better affect. I was also given Sugarbomb and I think I'll like that one much better because of the color (we'll see). So those are my thoughts! Hope you're enjoying my Great Beauty Outdoors (but Indoors) Theme This Week :) Wish I had some dandelions nearby, to make a WISH! HaHaHa

  3. That shade is absolutely beautiful! It's a shame that it transfers so easily, though.

  4. Nice review Kim! I agree that Glosses can be deceiving. I bet this would look pretty over top of a lipstick though, one with a lighter/sheer formula!

  5. Maybe it would look great with the blush, though it looks great on you. It's a nice neutral pink on the lips, but a bit brighter on the back of the hand. I don't like heavy glosses either, so I'm with you there.

  8. I am with you on the swatches, I always like to see different swatches too, especially on different skin tones, so that I can decide whether or not I will like it for me. Thanks for the lovely review Kim. /Madison

  9. I agree that it does look different on your lips than on your hand. I think the color on your lips is much better. I've not tried this product. It sounds like a good lip gloss but I'm not much for lip gloss. I just feel like they make your lips slick and then get on everything your lips touch.

  11. It looks lovely on you, Kim! I've recently begun wearing lip gloss, again; myself--after receiving one in a Birchbox. It's a fun alternative to lipstick. T. http://tickledpinkwoman.blogspot.com

  13. Kim, I think this actually really looks great on you. You're probably right thought that it might look better paired with the Dandelion blush, but on its own, it still looks fab:)

  17. It is a cute little tube and a lovely colour on you, just a shame that it transfers so easily, you'd be re-applying it all day!

  18. Looks gorgeous on you! I hate most lip-gloss because they begin to taste weird with an uncomfortable consistancy.

  19. I don't own any blushes at the moment. I guess that's kind of weird, but they scare me because my cheeks are already a bit red from old acne scarring. Anyway, I've always wanted to try the Benefit Dandelion blush because it looks like a very light and lovely shade of pink. The Dandelion gloss looks very pretty and I agree that both hand and lip swatches are super helpful when deciding if a shade is really something you'd be interested in.

  20. Ah I need to try more Benefit products! I'm not huge on lipgloss but I've been really wanting to try the matching blushes, Dandelion looks so soft and natural :D

  24. It does look pretty on you Kim. Maybe it would last a little longer with a lip liner. Does it have a smell?

  25. You're right - it's definitely a softer pink on the lips! It looks great though and so versatile!

  26. Thank you for a honest review, Kim. I'm not a fan of gloss at all so tho product will definitely be giving this product a miss. I am giggling at the thought of you swinging from the chandelier though. Haha!

  28. There's lots of Benefit products I really love, but their lip glosses have never really gotten me excited - sounds like I'm not the only one :) Thanks for another great review, Kim!

  31. It looks beautiful on! I have learned to accept color transfer over he years. Those that don't transfer color seem to dry out for me fast!

  32. ''Swining from the chandeliers'' - you do make me laugh, Kim! haha :) Personally, I think this lipgloss looks fabulous on you. You're quite right too, lip colours need to be shown on bloggers' lips or else they can appear incredibly different.. I'll start showing my reviews on my lips always from now on I think! :)

  34. Too bad.. for some reason I am not attracted to this gloss tube packaging, sorry to hear it was bittersweet.

  35. Another one of your helpful reviews, Kim! I agree that colour on the hand can be deceptive. This is a lovely summery shade and so glossy but disappointing that it transfers so easily. I'm gradually catching up on my blog reading after taking an unexpected break. I really must find time to start posting again too!!

  36. It looks like a pretty color! Im always amazed by how different a color looks on the back of a hand vs. the packaging vs. on the face!

Dear Kim, what about testing blotting paper or did I missed a post... if so shame on me! ;-D
