Tarte Tartelette Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

I purchased this Tarte Tartelette Eyeshadow Palette a looong time ago. At first I wasn't going to purchase it, but SO many people liked it I fell for the HYPE and got it during Sephora's last 15% off sale! For some reason, I never got excited about this palette. The packaging is really cool. Very sleek, sophisticated and grown up. It contains 12 MATTE eye shadows in neutral shades. They're great for all seasons. The shades are very SOFT! I think they look better on the eyes (applied), than swatched on the back of the hand :) They're ok. I like my Tarte Poppy Picnic Palette better. I'll have to play with this one more! Do you have this palette? Do you like it? I really just started trying Tarte products this year.

  1. All shades are very natural and wearable too but how shameful that the quality is not as good as it should be. Thanks for sharing Kim, have a great day. Kisses <3

  2. Ooo these shades look so matte- I think it's sometimes difficult to find shades that don't have any shimmer

  8. I think the palette looks really pretty. I agree with you that the eyeshadows look better on the eyes. I have never tried any Tarte products but from other peoples reviews it seems to be a good palette.

  9. I like the packaging but when I was in Sephora swatching I did not like the pigments to powdery for me. Very detail review Kim I hope it works for you when you try it out.

  10. They look like lovely shades in the box, but I can see what you mean about them looking soft on your hand. Still, I'm guessing they are easy to wear because they aren't too overpowering :)

  12. The shades are in enough but need some glimmer in them, instead of matte. Think using a glimmer eye dusting over the top would make them look really nice.

  14. The shades are really nice, but they look like they would just blend into my skin and look like they disappeared like a lot of eye shadows do. But, they are lovely shades and tones. I like the packaging and the names of the shadows, that's really cute :) Happy Tuesday x

  17. I've never tried Tarte before and I've always like the Naked palette so I'm still going to stick to Urban Decay I guess.

  18. There isn't a lot in this palette to get excited about, from what I can see. I can't figure out why all make-up brands seem to be making some variation of the same nude shadow palette, but these shades look so similar to the Urban Decay Naked Basics and so many others that I've seen, I would pass on this palette for its lack of originality alone.

  21. While I love my matte shades, I've learned that I need at least a couple of shimmers to make my eyes pop. Wearing all matte shades on my eyes just don't work the same. I've only tried a couple of Tarte products but the brand that I really have my eyes on now is Too Faced. After reading your reviews, I think it's high time I get my hands on some to try.

  22. I think Id like this because I love neutrals and mattes but I have so many similar colors already. I have one tarte shadow quad and wasn't really impressed with this so that's why I haven't picked up any of their other shadows. Great review Kim, thanks for your honesty!

  23. Looks lovely! I have yet to experiment much with eyeshadow but I'll definitely look into this.

  24. The packaging is really nice and sleek. It's shame that the eyeshadows themselves weren't that exciting. The colors look nice but they do seem a little subtle and flat.

  30. I love those shades! I've just started regularly wearing eyeshadow and am looking for a nice beginner palette. Unfortunately I think this one is a tad too pricey for me!

  31. Kim, I've not tried any of Tarte's products, but I've definitely engaged in some of Sephora's promos a time or two. :) The packaging is sleek and I like the browns featured here. Too bad it wasn't as exciting as you'd hoped! T. http://tickledpinkwoman.blogspot.com

  32. Can't believe how different the swatches look on the back of your hand vs. mine. I was so excited about this palette (love mattes) but when I swatched the shades they all leaned orange on me! How weird.

  39. This is a palette that I think about buying, and then I don't get it. I want to get it, but yeah, it just doesn't look quite special enough for me to fork out the cash for it.
