Disney Villains Makeup Collection Review

Do you have a favorite Disney Villain? Mine is the Evil Queen of Snow White. Over the years, Disney Villains (at least in makeup) have become just as popular (or more than) the Disney Princesses. MAC came out with a Disney Villainous Villains Collection years ago and many pieces from that collection are now selling for $50 - $195 on eBay. The 2015 Disney Villains Collection (featured below) is a cheaper limited edition collection (sold at Walgreens drugstore and Walgreens online), but nonetheless as popular (the lipsticks are already sold out online and everything is selling for quadruple the original prices on eBay). I purchased several pieces (not to wear...but) for collection/packaging/picture purposes ... but since it's almost Halloween I thought it would be fun if I swatched everything for you and host a giveaway for anyone that also loves collecting limited edition makeup.

Sweet-Bittersweet-NotSweet
supersweet(run & buy it) sweet(really good,buy it) bittersweet(ok, issues)not sweet(not good,don't buy this stuff)

Disney Villains Lipstick: Ursula (Majestic), Evil Queen (Potion), Maleficent (Dragon's Liar)  Disney Villains Lipsticks are Bittersweet

All of these lipsticks are matte! Dragon's Liar is definitely a muddy brown. Potion is a true red. Majestic is an orange-y red. Wet N Wild is listed (on Walgreen's website) as the maker of the Disney Villains Makeup Collection. These lipsticks have excellent pigmentation. But I definitely suggest moisturizing and prepping your lips because these are not very moisturizing LOL (very matte).

Disney Villains Evil Queen Jealous Blush - Bittersweet

The Evil Queen (aka Wicked Queen) was very jealous of Snow White. "Magic mirror in my hand, who is the fairest in the land?" The mirror replies: "My queen, you are the fairest here so true. But Snow White beyond the mountains at the seven dwarfs is a thousand times more beautiful than you" The look on the Evil Queen's Face is always PRICELESS after he says that. LOL But anyway, this blush is a dusty pink shade. The color is pretty, but it can be powdery. Again, I only purchased it for the packaging. LOL

Disney Villains Makeup Remover Wipes - Sweet

These makeup removing wipes proved to be VERY good! I used them while removing makeup for these pictures. One wipe removed all of my makeup. Impressive!

Disney Villains Spellbound Sculpting Contour Palette - Bittersweet

Gotta love Maleficent! Was she a calculating b*witch or what? HaHaHa I can see why they chose her for the contour palette. The contour (brown) and highlighter (beige) are really good. The strawberry pink blush requires a really light hand. Again I didn't purchase any of these to wear, but instead to use for pictures and collection purposes.

Disney Villains Brush Sets by SOHO - Sweet

Last but not least, we have the Disney Villain Brush Sets. The SOHO Beauty Brand actually made these brushes and cosmetic cases (not featured) for this Collection. I've never tried anything from them. I will say the bristles of the brushes are soft and make for a great travel size collection. I will be using these. The sets are as follows: 3 Piece Contour Set (Maleficent) includes a stippling brush, angled buff brush and a concealer brush // 3 Piece Face Set (Evil Queen) includes all over face brush, curved foundation brush and an angled brow brush // 4 Piece Eye Set (Ursula) includes an eyeshadow brush, crease brush, pointed eyeliner brush and angled smudge brush.

For the most part it's the PACKAGING that is the real winner of this collection (so much fabulous detail and illustrations) and that's what I purchased it for. The quality of the makeup is just ok (but I didn't expect a lot from it). Loved the brushes! Loved the makeup wipes! Everything else is just PRETTY TO LOOK AT :)

  1. Ahhh this is so awesome! I've went on Ebay a few times to look at some of the MAC pieces but couldn't ever justify the price of them so this is a great alternative, I just really hope my local Walgreens will still have some of these in stock now lol. Kind of a shame the quality is just subpar, but I'm definitely with you on just buying it for collection purchases more than anything!

  3. These are pretty cute. Not sure about the brown shade though. It's overly dark (and I love dark lipsticks). Re my fave villain? I have to think about that because I'm not sure I have one. I always favored the protagonists. I used to love Angelica from The Rugrats. Would you consider her a villain lol? She's not Disney but...

  5. This is a great giveaway & looks like an awesome collection. I adore Disney and I see videos and blog posts about these collections all the time it's such a bummer we can't get them here in the UK. I'd probably be like you and just use them for the packaging lol. Ursula is my favourite Disney villain & I think her lipstick is my favourite!

  8. That is some great packaging, I can see why you had to have it!

A shame the makeup isn't the best, but you still get to keep the cute cases and boxes etc so you got what you wanted out of it :)

Thanks for your comment on my last post about blogger struggles too Kim :)

  15. I hadn't heard about this collection but it's quite brilliant. It's a shame the products weren't quite as good as the packaging. Izma from the Emperor's New Groove has to be my fave Disney villain. Eartha Kitt was awesome :)

  16. I'm such a sucker for these collections because I love everything Disney lol!! And I have to agree with you Kim that I really only buy them for the packaging and to collection, but I still love to have them. I wanted to try to find the Ursula palette from this collection but never did. Ursula is my favorite because I love little mermaid haha!

  17. I think Disney villains are more popular than princesses because their characters are so much more interesting - they have flaws and failings, while their poor princess counterparts are so perfect that its hard to stay interested! Maleficent has always been my favourite, I even dressed up as her for my first Halloween. I'm not really a collector except for lipsticks (and I have way too many right now) so I likely won't be rushing to get these products, but they do look cute.

  26. In all the pictures you look super sweet. It's a pity they just care about the packaging. I would love to use a contouring palette and think all the while I'm turning into a drop dead gorgeous evil queen. If I don't remember wrong, also Cinderella collection by Mac hadn't got a good rating! Much love Baci, Coco et La vie en rose fashion blog - Valeria Arizzi
