Benefit's Sugarbomb, was one of the items I won in the Klout Benefit #Curlfriends Contest. I thought it would fit in nicely with my Go Nude Week (makeup of course) this week. You may remember my review of Dandelion! Well I like Sugarbomb better. The color is more pigmented and richer! It's described as a pinky nude (pinky brown) with shimmer. It felt really good to my lips! It was creamy & moisturizing without feeling STICKY! There's no taste to this lip gloss, but it does have a candy scent just like Dandelion. I think it's great if you want to enhance the natural color of your lips. I love the whole dripping melted chocolate packaging, it comes in. Is this something you have to have in your life? No. But if you do want it, this lip gloss (and all the other ones) are currently on sale for $8 (regularly $16). But only for ONE DAY (today 7/31 11:59 PM Pacific Code JULYSHIP)! Yes, I know about all the beauty sales :P I'm going to pair this lipgloss with the Sugarbomb blush that was in the Cheeky Sweet Spot Box O' Blushes I purchased last Christmas :) Be sure to follow me on Periscope and Snapchat (averysweetblog) for my makeup stories ... behind the story! Have A Great Weekend Everybody!
This is GO NUDE WEEK (makeup of course) on A Very Sweet Blog! So, today I have products from THE QUEEN of nude makeup...Bobbi Brown! Ya, hardly ever see blog reviews on Bobbi Brown products because they are SUPER DUPER EXPENSIVE! LOL I purchased these products earlier this Summer. They are from her Sandy Nudes Collection. I just tried them out! Let's see how it went!
Telluride (Illumniating Bronzing Powder) & Elvis Duran (Bronzing Powder)
I LOVE THIS! Let me tell you! When I received my order from Nordstrom, I looked at this and almost returned it. The two shades looked so DARK and DEAD! I was like, I picked this? Bobbi made this? This must be a mistake! It looked lighter on the website. So I pushed it aside and never looked at it again until now. WHY did I doubt Bobbi? This palette is so awesome! When I purchased this, it was the only palette. Now it comes in an assortment of shades (3 other palettes + this one)! I treated this like a contour! Here are the steps I took to achieve the look below.
Bobbi Brown Sandy Nudes Brown Shimmer Lipstick #9 - Supersweet
Step 8. Add lipstick. Isn't this shade gorgeous! It comes across really dark in the tube, but it looked really nice once I applied it to my lips. It was creamy. Just the right amount of sparkle. And it lasts a really long time (even after eating). The color is also buildable. One swipe on my lips below. Three swipes in the pictures above. This lipstick makes a statement, but is very soft.
Bobbi Brown Naked Nail Polish - Bittersweet
This is the dud of the collection. It's available in Naked and Nude. I think someone mixed up my order, because I wanted NUDE. NAKED is peachy pink! But I'll live. What's wrong with this? You need 2-3 coats. You also either have to give it some serious drying time or purchase some drying drops. I thought it was dry, and it dented and peeled. So Bobbi does makeup, but her nail polish...IFFY. I did have good results with one of her other nail polishes. But it was a darker color. These really light colors are always trouble. So skip the nail polish. I also didn't buy the eye shadow palette for this collection, because it was like $70!!! Ok, so tell me what you think? I'm feeling very sophisticated right now. LOL I think this makeup look would look great for Fall also.
I purchased this Tarte Tartelette Eyeshadow Palette a looong time ago. At first I wasn't going to purchase it, but SO many people liked it I fell for the HYPE and got it during Sephora's last 15% off sale! For some reason, I never got excited about this palette. The packaging is really cool. Very sleek, sophisticated and grown up. It contains 12 MATTE eye shadows in neutral shades. They're great for all seasons. The shades are very SOFT! I think they look better on the eyes (applied), than swatched on the back of the hand :) They're ok. I like my Tarte Poppy Picnic Palette better. I'll have to play with this one more! Do you have this palette? Do you like it? I really just started trying Tarte products this year.
Tartelette Eye Shadows L-R: Free Spirit, Force of Nature, Dreamer, Multi Tasker / Caregiver, Natural Beauty, Best Friend, Bombshell / Super Mom, Wanderer, Power Player, Fashionista
PR Sample - I was sent an assortment of Eat Nak'd Bars to review. Natural Balance Foods, the maker of Eat Nak'd, is a British company that makes gluten free snack bars. Not only are they gluten free, but they contain 100% natural ingredients, NO added sugars or syrups, and they are wheat & dairy free. Bottom line, they are 100% VEGAN. As the company describes them, they are fruits and nuts 'smooshed' together. So how are they? The only way to describe them is HEALTHY. They LOOK healthy. They TASTE healthy. I'm not going to lie! I loved the packaging, but when I saw the bars I didn't feel very hungry. LOL They look like smooshed stuff formed together and they're dark. As I tasted each bar, some were a little better than others. However, I never completed eating ANY of the bars (they're very dense). I didn't enjoy eating the bars. I just ate them. You know how you just eat something, with indifference? They're CHEWY. The CRUNCH only comes from the nuts in them. So don't worry about them being CRUNCHY! They are not. On a more positive note, I will say this! I LOVED how I felt after I ate them! I had ENERGY! I felt GREAT! I didn't feel hungry! So, that was really good. I don't think I've ever had a vegan food product, so maybe it's just a personal adjustment on my part. And some of the flavors, were just not favorites of mine, so I tried to not let that affect my review of them. These are just VERY HEALTHY snack bars. I did like that they have the percentage of fruit, nuts & cocoa on the back of each label. Eat Nak'd products are available for purchase across the USA at www.eatnakd.com and on Amazon.com. Have you tried Nak'd Bars? This is the kickoff to GO NUDE WEEK on A Very Sweet Blog :)
