Marc Jacobs Style Eye-Con No. 7 Plush Eye Shadow 220 The Lover Palette Review & Swatches

The shades in the Marc Jacobs Style Eye-Con No. 7 Plush Eye Shadow Palette (220 The Lover) are soft in color. Sometimes when eye shadows are soft in color, they lack pigmentation. That is not the case with the shades in this palette. They are richly pigmented and very beautiful. There are 7 shades altogether. They are not named, but described as a matte baby pink, sandy pink shimmer, light caramel sheen, matte apricot-rose, copper rose shimmer, seashell pink sheen and matte cappuccino. I love all the colors except the first one, which comes off very white & chalky against my skin tone. Be aware, the pinks can also be tricky. So, if interested I would swatch this palette in the store to see if it works for you. I think the winners in this palette are the shimmers. They adhere well and are truly beautiful. The packaging for the palette is very sleek. It's the least cumbersome eye shadow palette I've ever seen (except maybe for it's length). It has a mirror (I placed the Marc Jacobs placard in front of it to take pictures) and the palette snaps tight. I was pleased with this palette. In the past, I've tried a Marc Jacobs lip gloss, two lipsticks and his foundation. All were of excellent quality. I'm now interested in purchasing another eye shadow palette (The Lolita 206) from him.

  1. His line has such beautiful packaging doesn't it! I've been drawn to so many Marc Jacobs products that I'd love to try, but have been too scared because of the hefty price tags haha. The swatches you took look beautiful though, and I'm thinking I have to muster up the courage to finally splurge on something because most of what I want seems worth the money!

  2. I love Marc Jacobs designs, but I never knew he had a makeup line out. This palette looks very luxurious because of it's smoothness. I am not much of an eye makeup person because of my sensitive eyes, but I'd be willing to give this one a go. Have a great new week Kim!

  6. I do like his lip product but as per mascara, foundation and his palette did not work for me I was not impress. Great review and I have to agree the pink is chalky very powdery.

  12. Pink shadows, sadly, don't work for my skintone - I always end up looking like I've been crying when I wear them! (Not a good look and it leads to a lot of confusion, ha ha.) I'm so impressed by the colour pay off from these shadows, though, I just may have to see what else Marc Jacobs has to offer from his beauty line!

  18. This looks like such a wonderful neutral palette! I'm glad you did the swatches because you can really see the shimmer on your skin more than in the palette. I was reading that frosty pink eyeshadows are supposed to be huge this winter and the one in this palette looks perfect! Thanks so much for sharing, beautiful; you always provide such wonderful and helpful reviews! I hope you're having an amazing day so far!

  25. I hear mixed reviews from Marc Jacobs, mainly to do with the lack of pigmentation.
Personally that is something that would just make me say no.

  27. Good morning, Kim!
I remember when he debuted his collection at Sephora. I wonder if one can really go wrong with Marc Jacobs products. I am glad the pigmentation works for you. I love, love the packaging. It looks so fancy. Then again, I did not expect anything less from Marc Jacobs.
    Lots of hugs, hun!

  33. I'm surprised that the swatches are more pastel than how it looks in the palette! I have only tried Marc Jacobs lipstick but I definitely have one of of his eyeshadow palette in my list to try.
