Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Luminous Blush in Blushed Copper Review and Swatches

Despite having dry skin, whenever I see words like "shimmery" or "luminous" I get a little nervous. Nobody wants to look like a disco ball. I've always gravitated towards matte blushes. Whenever I saw a sparkly blush, I stayed away. So when Becca came out with six (6) Shimmering Skin Perfector Luminous Blushes last year, I was like PUMP THE BRAKES...STOP...REALLY...THESE ARE BLUSHES AND NOT HIGHLIGHTERS!?! OK! The colors were beautiful, but shimmer on the cheeks??? I don't know. Plus they cost $34 each! When you pay $30 UP for a blush, you want that sucker to work! So I waited for Sephora's VIB ROUGE Sale towards the end of last year and purchased ONE! I purchased a safe color (for me) called Blushed Copper. I felt if anything went bad, maybe I could use it as a highlighter. Well you guys, I just tried it and I am very pleased. NO SPARKLE! NO FALL OUT! NO GLITTER! The key word here is LUMINOUS! They BLEND WITH YOUR MAKEUP! IT'S ALL A PART OF THIS GLOW TREND THAT'S GOING ON! These blushes can be used as a blush OR blush topper. They are a powder, but definitely not powdery. If you want a change from a flat matte blush, try these! Right now with the whole sun-kissed look, I think I can get away with this blush during the day. I used Becca's OPAL Highlighter on my nose and my lip gloss is Kylie's LIKE lip gloss. I included all the blush colors below (from Becca's website). So now, I'm not afraid to get Tigerlily. HaHaHa Have you tried these? Do you think this look is too much for day? Is this more Winter? Let me know your thoughts.

  1. This blush is beautiful Kim! It looks great on you! I like luminous blushes just as much as my matte ones. They are a nice change from a flat color like you said. I also love to wear shades like that all year, so I don't think it's too wintery lol! I'll definitely have to swatch and check out this blush, since I know we like the same shades!

  2. As someone that rarely uses highlighters I like a more luminous blush. These look very pretty, and the one item from Becca I own has pleased me greatly, so I will see if I can swatch them someday. Not that I need any mire blushes, but...

  3. I actually love blush with a little bit of shimmer - I always have. As long as there is no glitter fallout, I'm all for it. I keep hearing people say that older women "shouldn't wear glitter make-up" and wondering where the imaginary cutoff is, because I'm definitely not as young as I was when I bought my first sparkly blush, but honestly - life is too short not to try new things and have fun with your style. I love this shade on you!

  4. Love your whole look in these shots, Kim! And thanks for the review. I've always loved the BEcca products I've tried, but have not tried this one yet.

  6. The disco ball look is probably something we would all want to stay away from. I could see why you had some initial concern with this blush Kim but it's a good thing you took a chance since it worked out so well for you. The wear and finish look and sound amazing. I bet you would rock Tigerlily as well. I actually don't mind a blush with a little touch of shimmer since NARS Sin is one of my go to blushes.

  8. You're making more intrigued withe BECCA, girl, you really seem to love their products! The last time I was at Sephora with my mom, we were both going to get a highlighter, but wasn't sure, that was obviously before I've read your posts on how much you love Opal and now this gorgeous blush. Thanks so much for sharing, beauty, and I hope you're having a great week so far!

  15. I don't know if I can pull off a copper blush but you look great in it Kim. I am so used to pink girly blush shades, I might not have the confidence to rock this one. I like to use shimmery blushes as a highlight or blush topper. ;-)

  16. Yay for super sweet Kim. Like you, I shy away from anything that may add disco ball effect to my face.
