LUSH Yummy Mummy, Wash Behind Your Ears, Chocolate Lip Scrub, Oatifix and Charity Pot Review PLUS LUSH Magazine Street New Orleans (VIDEO)

Hey Everybody! Today's review is a little different! Do you like field trips? I hope so! I'm taking you today to my local LUSH Fresh Handmade Cosmetics Store on Magazine Street, here in New Orleans, Louisiana [Not Sponsored]. PR emailed me an invitation last year (when the store opened), but I was unable to attend because I was remodeling my home. Then my mom had hip replacement surgery. So a couple of weeks ago, I stopped by on a whim (looking tore up, from the street up LOL) and the two ladies that work there Brittany & Deveney couldn't have been more kind, helpful or knowledgeable! There were  a number of products I wanted to purchase, and before I knew it Deveney had prepared a bowl of water with an assortment of LUSH products for me to try. I was tickled pink! Below are my thoughts on each product I purchased and be sure to watch my short video of the store.

LUSH Oatifix Fresh Face Mask - Supersweet

I was so enamored with LUSH's 'Feed Your Face' display (see picture below)! The bowls of assorted face masks looked SO EDIBLE! I asked the ladies there, is this for your face? LOL You're going to want all of them! They asked me what my skin type was and I told them DRY/SENSITIVE and they recommended Oatifix. I expected an Oatmeal scent, but you guys this smells like banana nut bread (it contains oatmeal, bananas, vanilla). It smells SO GOOD! And it FEELS GOOD! It's so creamy. Just apply it to your face. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes and you're good to go. It's moisturizing without feeling greasy and it exfoliates. I love it. But guess what? THIS IS ONLY AVAILABLE IN STORES (IN SHOPS ONLY)!

LUSH Chocolate Lip Scrub - Sweet

You guys may remember my review of LUSH's Bubblegum Lip Scrub. I loved it and when I heard they were coming out with a Chocolate lip scrub, I flipped. This is dark chocolate, orange & tangerine oil and vanilla. It's really nice. Just enough exfoliation to polish your lips and moisture to soften them.

Charity Pot Body Lotion - Sweet

Charity Pot is a very nice lightweight body lotion. It's ylang ylang, rosewood oil and cocoa butter. It provides lightweight moisture (at least for my dry skin), but what I really liked was how soft it made my elbows and hands feel. SO SOFT! I like it for certain areas of my body, but I still love my Archipelago Botanicals OAT MILK LOTION, Aveeno Daily Moisturizing and Farmhouse Fresh Sweet Cream lotions better for all over. I love that LUSH gives back! 'With every purchase of Charity Pot, we donate 100% of the price (minus the taxes) to small grassroots organizations working in the areas of environmental conservation, animal welfare and human rights.'

LUSH Yummy Mummy Shower Cream - Supersweet

LUSH Wash Behind Your Ears Shower Gel - Sweet

I always hear people rave about Yummy Mummy! It's not available year-round! Only around Mother's Day! So I had to try it! It smells so good! It's purple goodness! LOL It's sweet. It's fruity. It's candy to my nose! LUSH describes the ingredients as geranium and brazilian orange oil, tonka and cocoa butter. I use this at night right before I go to bed. Gotta go to bed smelling sweet! >.< Wash Behind Your Ears was new for Easter this year. I was going to order it online, but when I saw it was FLORAL I stopped. LOL I was thinking ORANGE & CARROTS! LOL But thankfully I tried it in the store. I was pleasantly surprised that I liked it because I detest FLORAL anything. It is nice and the scent that's left on your skin afterwards is awesome. Yes, I was smelling my arm! Wash Behind Your Ears is jasmine, rose oil, neroli and sunflower oil. I use it in the mornings! It lifts me up!

LUSH Cosmetic Catalogue & Samples

So those are the things I purchased! I wanted everything Deveney tried on me and showed me (she included some really good samples). LOL Brittany talked about their composting program. They use the same company that Hollygrove Market and Farms (<--- remember my post) uses. I was so impressed that they use a local vendor. Dev also gave me a book that contains ALL of LUSH's products and explanations of everything! I knew LUSH had a lot of products, but I didn't realize they had THAT MANY! So this book will be very helpful with my future purchases. Get one if you stop in one of there stores. It has pictures and explanations for each product!

LUSH Fresh Handmade Cosmetics Store, 3129 Magazine Street, New Orleans, Louisiana

I can't wait to go back to my local LUSH store on Magazine. I was very impressed. I even loved their shopping bags! HaHaHa The dark floral & bees are so pretty! 3. Dang! This must be one of the biggest ones I've seen, Kim! The Lush stores by me are tiny....huhuhu....anyhoo, I have always been a big fan of Lush:) Great products for sure, and all the stores I've been too have great staff to boot. Will definitely be keeping that Oatifix mask on my to-try list!

  5. So you know which one of the three I feel the most curious about trying, right?! Lol! You hardly ever give a super sweet rating, so I'm so intrigued by this one! My mom loves Lush, but the thing with her is that I'd need to go WITH her because if I gift her something or give her a gift card, for some reason, she's not as enthused, she's so complicated, lol. She likes when things are either handmade or when I go shopping with her and she gets it with me. I'll have to visit our local Lush, perhaps this weekend, with her. Thanks for sharing, beautiful, and I hope you're having a great week so far!

  6. I have loved every LUSH product I have ever received as a gift. Unfortunately, I have a lot of trouble shopping there for myself, because the scent in the stores is so strong and something in it seriously aggravates my allergies - every time I go in, I leave a sneezy, watery-eyed mess! I hadn't considered the possibility of looking online for their products, but I admit that I'm tempted now :)

  7. This store looks so fun! Very colorful. I love when samples are out so you don't purchase things blindly and hoping for the best. It must smell divine in there too.

  8. This was such a fun field trip Kim! What a treat! We have LUSH stores in NYC but none of them are this impressive or big. It's one of those stores that makes you want to touch and try everything. TBH I kind of avoid going in there because inevitably I end up buying a bunch of things LOL I think I need to venture in again because everything you got sounds amazing especially that Oatifix Fresh Face Mask.

  14. Hi Kim! I just started this year to step foot into Lush. I was always afraid of their scents, but I actually don't mind them now. I will check out these products. Btw, you should do a post on how you organize your makeup. I'm just curious :)

  15. Great video Kim! The oatfix mask sounds so good! I've heard such great things about lush lip scrubs too, I really need to go in store and check out some of their products! They had a big opening event for one here that had to be cancelled after the cyclone hit which was a shame, I haven't had time to go visit since though.

Hope you are having a lovely week so far :)

  16. Your Lush store looks sooo nice and pretty! It looks a lot bigger than the ones that we have! I love charity pot, and I'm definitely going to have to try the chocolate lip scrub. I absolutely love their fresh face masks! I haven't tried the Oatfix, but if sounds amazing. If you bring back 5 (I think?) cleaned out containers that the masks and hand lotion come in, they give you a free fresh face mask too!

  25. For starters I love Lush and the concept of fresh handmade products. I must admit that I mostly find them a bit pricey. Otherwise I would raid their store every time I step into one. That said, I would love to try that face mask and the Yummy Mymmy shower gel! Wash behind your ears has such an hilarious name :-) much love, Valeria

  26. I still haven't managed to try their famous bubble gum or popcorn lip scrubs, but I'm a regular buyer of their Mint Juleps! Does the chocolate lip scrub taste bitter like dark choc?

  27. To tell you the honest truth Kim, I have never used any Lush products. I always feel overwhelmed in the store and I never know what to buy, lol. I really need to take the plunge and buy a bath bomb. 😊💕
