When they get the chocolates normally they eat and enjoy them because of their sweet nature. Sadly, when children finish eating chocolates they normally wipe their hand on clothes rather than wash. Removing such chocolate stains could be a hectic if you are not aware of the easiest ways you could use to get rid of them from your clothes. Hopefully, you do not need to worry because I am going to take you through simple steps you can take while washing your clothes to free them free chocolate stains.

Easiest ways on how to remove chocolate stains from your clothes.

Here's a list of steps on how to remove chocolate stains:

  • The first step is to first put vinegar or lemon on the spot where the stain is present and leave it for approximately a period of five minutes. This will break down the particles of the stains decreasing its intensity.
  • Using a small brush such as toothbrush you scrape gently the stains immediately the five minutes after you applied vinegar are over.
  • Rinse the clothes with cold running water or just submerge it in plenty of cold water to loosen the particles from the cloth fiber and further prevent the lemon or vinegar from destroying the garment,
  • Next step is to thoroughly saturate the fabric with washing detergent or 'biological' laundry detergent. Please make sure you do not apply it roughly in order for stains to be gently removed.
  • To make the garment clean, soak it for about 15 minutes in cold water while rubbing the stains gently and consistently until they are completely gone.
  • Once the stains have been removed then you can launder it with a washing machine as usual and it will be absolutely clean.
  • However, if the stains persist then try applying commercial stain removers or enzyme based ones and leave it for about 15 minutes to dissolve the stains.
  • If the stain still remains then I would recommend you use bleaching agents like chlorine to apply to the stains. Do not let this bleaching agents stay in your clothes for more than one minute. Make sure you rinse with warm water as soon as possible.
  • When it's finally free from stains then you can launder it with washing machine, otherwise take it for dry cleaning.

Being clean is important and now that you are know how to deal with chocolate stains, then you are free to allow yourself and your children to take chocolate without any limitation because it is super easy to clean chocolate stains.

  1. Ooooh it happened to me! Both with my children and with me since I love chocolate ice cream and several times I have stained some garment, if they are difficult to remove spots, so the tip of the vinegar suits me and I will consider it next time.

  2. Great tips for removing chocolate stains! Stains can be difficult but most of them can be removed if we really try. If everything falls (like in the cases when I accidentally stain my clothes with permanent paints or Domestos) then I do some embroidery or sew a patch over it to cover the stain.
