Makeup Revolution London Conceal & Define Full Coverage Concealer & Contour Review and Swatches

I kept hearing Makeup Revolution's NEW Conceal & Define Full Coverage Concealer and Contour ($7) was a dupe for Tarte's Shape Tape Concealer ($27). That's a HUGE cost savings! So, I found my shade (C10) and gave it a whirl. I loved the wand. It's short, so application is precise. The formula is super creamy. It laid well on the skin. It's a very nice consistency and covered areas evenly. As I finished applying this concealer, it changed on my DRY SKIN before I could even put setting powder on. It went from a creamy consistency to a powdery consistency.  It creased under my eyes. It settled in my fine lines and emphasized those lines. Not a good look. Not a good look. So I said to myself, I can't use this under my eyes. What about the rest of my face? You guys know that I recently had a bad breakout because of a product. Well this concealer emphasized those problems as well. So what I want you to know, is this concealer will emphasize problems! I also wouldn't recommend this for dry or mature skin. Dry skin need hydration, so I would love for Makeup Revolution to develop a hydrating concealer. I think this concealer would work better for Oily/Combination Skin Types. Some people have had luck with it. For $7 it's worth a try! As much as concealers cost nowadays, it's worth the try. This concealer is suppose to be long lasting. You're also suppose to be able to contour with it. This formula is just not compatible with my skin type. Have you heard anything about this concealer?

  1. I couldn't get on with this either! It creases so badly on me and highlights my texture too!

  3. I tried this recently for work and found that it creased really badly on me. I was so annoyed as I love the coverage it gave. x

  4. Oh such a shame that this isn't a great product on you Kim, although you're right it's good that it's not too expensive, so worth trying! :)

I need a new concealer but will give this one a miss - i need it to cover the odd breakout and this sounds like it wouldn't do the job for my skin.

Hope you have a had a great week and have a lovely weekend ahead of you! We have a quiet one planned after being a bit unwell the last few days.

  5. So sorry to hear this one was another dud for you, Kim:( Thanks for giving us the heads up...I have enough wrinkles on my face. Don't wanna highlight them, amirite? I have heard of this brand before but have never tried it.
    Anyhoo, have a lovely weekend!

  7. Thanks for testing this and sharing your experience Kim! $20 is a great savings in cost but the performance of this concealer sounds pretty awful.

  8. I generally don’t think concealers are the bets to used under eyes. As you mentioned they can emphasis lines rather than conceal those. I try to leave under eye area free from any foundations / powders / concealers and this seem to work the best, just a face cream xx

  12. Oh man! I just ordered this today...I LOVE my shape tape concealer. The one I use more often (because its cheaper) is the ColourPop No Filter Concealer which to me is good for the price. It does crease a bit though. Hopefully I have better luck then you but if not at least it was only $7.00 like you said. Thanks for your honest review.

  13. I keep hearing wonderful things about Make-Up Revolution products, but when I try them myself, they don't seem to deliver. I don't know what it is - maybe they are made for younger skin, which would explain my lack of success with them. Either way, I'm glad it's not just me...!

  18. I have heard mixed reviews but not tried this myself. However if it accentuates problems / dry skin, then perhaps it's not for me . Thanks for sharing x

  19. Hello Kim, I had not heard of this corrector, but it is a pity that has not worked if there is something that I do not like is to emphasize the lines of expression when what I'm looking for is the opposite effect, thanks for the sincere opinion.

  20. I really haven't seen the hype with this concealer, it's so hyped and it's definitely not a dupe! xx

  21. Thank you for this review! I've heard only positives about it, my skin is oily but skin under eye is bit different and if it's not a hydrating product then it's no for me - too heavy formula under the eye is a big no for me.

  22. Wow, I really thought this concealer was a dupe for Tarte shape tape as people hyped it up so much. I hate when concealers crease and are drying under the eyes.

  23. sorry to hear you had such a bad experience with this concealer, looks like it isn't a good dupe after all. But as you say, since it's only 7 dollars, it might be worth a try for those that don't have dry skin. My skin is super sensitive right now because I'm on steroids so I'm not willing to take any chances with anything.

  24. I would try it out for the price and not expect too much. Lol.
