Why You Should Buy Tarte Shape Tape Concealer From QVC: The Tarte Quickie Blending Sponge Review

Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links. I get commission for purchases or clicks made through links in this post.

Not Sponsored: There's no denying, I LOVE Tarte Shape Tape Concealer. It covers everything I need for it to cover, without any hassle. I've purchased it so many times and it's the first concealer I reach for. You can read my review here. I think beauty enthusiasts will agree with me, that we purchase a a lot of our makeup from Sephora and ULTA. Since blogging about makeup, I also purchase from Nordstrom and Macy's. But there are so many other places to shop. I want to share something with you! I haven't been paid. I'm not working with QVC. etc. If you purchase Tarte Shape Tape Concealer on QVC ($28) it comes with a Tarte makeup sponge (Quickie Blending Sponge (QVC & Tarte), which retails for $16). Yes, Tarte Shape Tape regularly retails for $27, but for $1 more you get a great makeup sponge. I've been using this sponge and I absolutely love it! It's angled like Real Technique sponges. It also has the same firmness as a Real Technique sponge. It's slightly larger than a Beautyblender. I took the picture below to show you a comparison of each. I use to roll my eyes, when brands came out with different size sponges. I would say REALLY? REALLY? You just want us to buy stuff! But having the right tools makes a difference in your makeup application. I love the way this sponge fits under my eye, but I can also use it all over my face. I love Beautyblender sponges, but I use my Real Techniques and now this one more. I believe the tools you use is truly a personal preference. Use what is comfortable for YOU! These work for me, but may not work for someone else. I use a lot of Tarte Shape Tape Concealer, so to get a "free" sponge is worth it for me. That means I don't have to come out of pocket and purchase one. I've been using the IT Cosmetics Confidence In A Cleanser, Moisturizing Cream, Eye Cream and Bye Bye Makeup Remover Cleansing Balm. At QVC, I can get the Bye Bye Makeup Cleansing Balm, plus a travel size Confidence in a Cream for only $34.54! The travel size Confidence in a Cream is $16 alone. The Bye Bye Makeup Cleansing Balm is $38 alone. I pay $4 less and get a $16 product THAT I USE! I bring all of this up, to remind you to STAY AWARE...LOOK AT OTHER SITES for products you use AND see if others have a BETTER DEAL. That's SMART SHOPPING! Sometimes it won't work. If you have points or someone offers free shipping, then that may be the better deal. I just wanted to share my experiences. I also want to mention that BECCA (on QVC) often gives you a free makeup brush with certain products (like I received here). So shop around my friends! Shop, Shop around!

3 Self Care Solutions After An Injury

No matter how your injury happened, you're going to want to return to normality as quickly as possible. While doctors are essential to help you recover from an injury, there are a number of self-care steps that you can take as well. These will help to speed up your recovery time and see you regaining your health much faster. Even if your injury is going to be an unpleasant factor in your life for a long time, the following self-care solutions can improve your quality of life and see you take your first proactive steps on the road to recovery. Make sure that you follow this advice and your injury will have a much smaller negative impact on your life.

Beware inflammation
For any soft-tissue injury, you’re going to have to deal with and tackle inflammation. Sprains, tears, strains, and tendon damage are not minor injuries and should not be treated as such. While some swelling is to be expected (after all, it’s part of your body’s natural healing process), excessive signs can be an indication that your body is not reacting well to the injury. Make sure that you eat plenty of fruit, vegetables, flax seeds, and chia to reduce excessive inflammation. Avoid foods like:
  • Donuts
  • White Bread
  • Margarine
  • Lunch meat

Financial help
Being injured can often mean that you lose the ability to return to work. It can have a massive impact on your quality of life, and financial stress will not help your recovery time. Make sure that you receive any money that you might be entitled to. If the accident that caused your injury was the fault of someone else, then speak to The Compensation Experts and your bank balance could end up being the least stressful part of your recovery. Having financial support during an injury gives you the time and the space to work on getting back to full health.

Use Technology
You might think that your phone isn’t going to be much use for when you’re trying to get better after your accident. Think again. Have a look at the following apps that have been designed with the injured person in mind:
  • If your goal is regaining your pre-injury levels of fitness, then check out Fitnet. These short, app-based workout plans are great motivation, and the camera on your phone will help you keep the right postures and forms for each exercise that you try.
  • Your diet is going to be an essential factor in your recovery. Making sure that you’re eating the right foods can be difficult for many people, but Fooducate can help make it all easier. More than just a calorie counter, Fooducate also gives you valuable info about nutrition and even helps you build the best menu options for your goals.

Any injury is going to cause frustration, and recovery can be a challenge. As long as you take your time, and have the freedom to be able to do so, then your recovery from injury will be a much smoother process. Always get professional advice if you decide to tackle your injury proactively, and remember that pushing yourself too hard can make your injury worse. Be patient, and recovery will follow.

Yoplait Oui French Style Yogurt Review

Not Sponsored. I've been wanting to try Yoplait's OUI French Style Yogurt for awhile. So I purchased 5 of the 12 flavors they offer. The first thing you notice is the cute packaging. Honestly, that is what made me buy them. This yogurt comes in cute little glass jar pots. At the bottom, you see a layer of fruit. The yogurt is then added atop. You then notice the cute labels that display "handwritten" names of each flavor, and drawings of the fruit (that's inside the jar) both on the label and lid (which peels off). Yoplait really paid attention to every detail. They are a pleasure to eat from. How were the flavors? Delicious. The yogurt is creamy and not overly sweet. I wish there was a bit more fruit. It's a very small layer at the bottom of the pot. I love eating yogurt for breakfast and as a snack. My favorite out the group was strawberry. Don't be afraid of key lime! It's more like the meringue from a key lime pie. All that's missing is the graham cracker crust. LOL All the other flavors tasted very natural. The flavors that I picked up were 160 calories and 15g of sugar. According to the American Heart Association, women should only take in 25g a day (sugar) or 6 teaspoons of sugar (source). I regularly eat Fage Total Split Cup yogurt, which contains between 100-150 calories and 11g of sugar. I love the way it tastes. Oui is cute but I think I'm going to stick with Fage. Some other things to note, is OUI is NON-GMO and contains real fruit and yogurt cultures. Plus no artificial flavors and no colors from artificial sources. The glass pots are reusable (you can fill them with snacks, spices, even grow succulents etc) and there are plastic lids you can buy from Yoplait that fit these pots (in blue & clear). Yoplait has come out with dessert-themed OUI flavors such as chocolate with shavings, caramelized apple, dark chocolate raspberry and sea salt caramel. Very interested in trying those. I just wanted to share my thoughts with you :) They both look & taste good. Just trying to watch the sugar.
