The Very Valid Reasons Why You Don't Want To Workout

The modern-day lifestyle makes us all prone to bad health. It's kind of strange that the more comfortable our lives have gotten, the less healthy we have become. As civilization has advanced, we have almost everything right at our fingertips. We’re not having to work extremely hard for our daily bread, we don’t all need to work physically tough manual labor and even laborious jobs, earn a good salary so you have great healthcare as a safety net. There are so many reasons why we are becoming a more unhealthy society but there’s no one size fits all solution. The fact is, everyone has to look out for their own. Only you can get healthier, no one can force you. And yet, it feels like there is an invisible force pushing you down and not allowing you to workout. Is it all just in your head or are these reasons for not wanting to workout, very real?

Body image confidence
One of the most personal issues we have is our body image confidence. Many of us don’t want to be seen by others wearing clothes that don’t flatter our figure. It just so happens that gym wear fits very snug and fully outlines the shape and size of your body. It's by far the most comfortable clothing style to wear in the gym, but if you’re suffering from low self-esteem, it's not something you’ll feel very comfortable in. One could say that you need to get over it somehow but this takes time. Body image confidence issues are a very real mental health concern for some women. Thus, you need a way to still go out in public, feel comfortable and workout as and when you need to.

Instead of wearing leggings, you can wear joggers instead. This clothing type is made for working out, hence the name. Usually made out of breathable synthetics or cotton, joggers are baggy enough to give you a full range of movement while not being too loose either. High-rise joggers are great for those with a little bit more stomach than they’d like. You can also wear a long sleeve crop top if you have a large upper body. There are plenty of clothing solutions, so don’t let this hold you back.

The long recovery phases
When you first begin working out, you’ll notice a paradox. You start to see big results very quickly, but you also feel the most pain. This is because our bodies are not used to the sort of rigorous physical wear and tear that we’re asking of ourselves in the gym. If you’re focussing on cardio, running and aerobics will put a lot of pressure on your shins. This can cause inflammation in your anterior tibialis muscle. However, you can quickly lower the flaring of shin splints with CBD. You’ll find CBD for sale in many different flavors. Vanilla, strawberry, hazelnut, bubblegum, etc. You don’t have to have oil drops in your coffee, instead, you can enjoy a CBD cookie or gummies candy. Long recovery processes are one of the main reasons why we don’t like working out. Take a few of these and you’ll be able to hit the gym more often and feel less pain.

Going it alone
You’re already fighting a few confidence issues and battling through pain, so when you see everyone else has a gym buddy, you feel like the odd one out. Going it alone is something many people find difficult, especially when they’re in a public place and trying to get fit. Let’s be honest, we’re a little weak in the beginning, so the workouts we do won’t be too impressive. This makes us all feel a little self-conscious. So find yourself a friend who also has aspiring goals to become fitter and healthier. Going to the gym together would really boost your morale as you can both support each other in more ways than just working out. You’re less likely to feel body conscious when you’re in a group or with a friend at the gym.

Set weekly goals
Biting off more than you can chew is a common mistake all newcomers make. We don’t realize we’re doing too much too early and we essentially, overtrain and become fatigued. So it's important to set weekly goals. Don’t set a goal that’s months away, set small goals that will be incremental to achieving the overall goal.

No, you’re not always making excuses for why you don’t want to go to the gym. Some of these self-esteem issues do hold us back. But you have very flexible clothing options, and going with a friend would in itself solve many problems.
