I learned about Diptyque candles several years ago. I was given one as a gift and was very impressed. They're truly a delight and they smell really good. Diptyque has a number of scents, but since florals are the hot thing in fashion right now, I thought I would feature a couple of their lovely floral scents. Let's take a look...
Have you tried Diptyque candles? What are your thoughts?
Has anyone been to the Urban Retreat in Harrods?

You are right about the candle quality. I've bought a few cheap ones and don't think the vapours would be that good for you! One of my favourite Paris shopping moments includes accidentally spending £55 on a scented candle for the apartment we were staying in. I even lugged its half finished remains back to Brisbane. There was no way I was leaving that baby! On strict budget now until our trip in September so will just have to dream about quality scent candles! :)
ReplyDeleteHaha, I live in London, yet might go to Harrods once a year - at a push! Love Diptyque candles, Mimosa is one of my favourites and the smell is heavenly... Have a lovely weekend xo
ReplyDeleteI love candles, especially Diptyque! Gorgeous scents and packaging :)
ReplyDeleteI've never tried these candles but I love rose scented candles so I have to try these.
ReplyDeleteI would love for you to stop by my blog and enter my latest giveaway. I will be picking 3 winners.

I'm obsessed with Diptyque - when you have a small apartment and are married to a chef, candles are essential - otherwise, our place would constantly smell like a restaurant! All candles are definitely not created equal, and Diptyque are the best I've ever tried. The scents are just phenomenal! We live near one of their boutiques and I have to hold myself back from going in every time I go by; the other drawback to having a small apartment is that there is only room for a few candles at a time :)

i like the white flowers smell ;)

Hi Kim! They must smell heavenly! In particular I love the one with Freesia scent, one of my fav flower fragrance! Happy Friday dear, kisses! xo
ReplyDeleteHi Kim,
ReplyDeleteI adore the Diptique candles -think they were the first to make scented candles cool / the graphics are also fab. My favorite is Baies or Tubéreuse :)
Happy weekend love,

Oooh I would love to buy one of these one day! My current fave brand is yankee candle - they aren't cheap here, but they are worth it. I find when I buy the cheaper ones they don't smell as strongly, where a Yankee candle can fill the whole house beautifully (open plan too so it does well!).
ReplyDeleteI prefer food or fruit scents over floral ones :)
Away From Blue
Love candles and have tried loads! Diptique are one of my all time favourites:) Have a lovely weekend Kim!

Love Harrods, and yes also adore Diptique candles. These look nice Kim, I'm a fan of candles in general even the small travel ones are my favourite! xo/M
ReplyDeleteDiptyque candles are out of this world! The fragrance is incredible without being too overbearing too, but I guess it depends on which scent you go for!
ReplyDeleteThey also stock in Liberty's too... you'd love it there too Kim!
Happy Friday to ya!

I have never tried this brand, but I agree that not all candles are made with the same quality. Like you, I switch my candle scents for the season. Fresh smells and florals for spring and pumpkin spice for fall :) Have a great weekend girl! Heather
ReplyDeleteNot been to Harrods or tried this brand. I adore lighting candles--do it daily and the idea of an urban retreat sounds fab, tho'! :)
ReplyDeleteI love scented candles, but so far haven't tried these because I find them a bit expensive. I'd probably be more tempted if I actually got to the shop and smelled every single one, but so far I only admired them from afar and used other brands. :)
ReplyDeleteim a candle fanatic too.... I have tons of candles around the house..this a great post and going to check harrods now..thanks kim!
ReplyDeletei never known that there's a variety of candle out there ;-) i only knew the difference on the colors and the packaging.
ReplyDeleteI've never tried a Diptyque candle but have heard great things about them! I always assumed they're too expensive for me (are they pricey?). Gotta love candles!!
ReplyDeleteI've never tried one of these but I've heard they're amazing! My dogs make my apartment rather stinky so I light candles a lot, haha. Happy Friday, Kim!

If only I could sniff these through my monitor lol
ReplyDeleteInvesting in good candles is always a good idea.
ReplyDeleteI hate it when the scent only lasts 1 minute....
Kim, what a great post! I have come to really love candles. My aunt makes her own, which are really cool. I will have to look into these though, clean-burning candles are never a bad thing :)
ReplyDeleteOoh I love the packaging. And I love candles ..they make me so relaxed and help me when I'm stressed. Thanks for sharing these dear :).

I love Diptyque candles. Their scents are amazing. I would love to visit the Urban Retreat at Harrods if I ever get to London again.

I haven't tried them but I would love too. They look amazing.
ReplyDeleteI like these candles. The weird thing about me is I have a ton of candles in my home right now, but I never remember to burn them.

Hi Kim, I love love candles. These are definitely classic. Did I tell you the one time I burned my bathroom because I left the candle burning and I went to watch TV? Long story...the alarm went off, firemen came, the corner of my bathroom wall was burnt. It took me almost 3 months to fix my bathroom. Lol. Yeah, I'm kinda paranoid about burning candles now BUT I still burn them. Haha. Enjoy your weekend!

Kim, I have never heard of these candles. Are they new or just new to me?
ReplyDeleteYou, my sweet one, have a great weekend, too.
haven't tried this yet, but we can't light candles since we have 3 kitties who are really easily distracted :( My husband is making some candles that we can hang up or suspend high enough so the cats can't reach them :)

O yes, Diptyque candles are lovely -- they even look lovely. I used to be quite the candle burner, but ever since my father burned down the patio furniture with one, I've been a little less enthusiastic lol
ReplyDeleteI am quite clueless when it comes to candles, its interesting to find out more. I wonder how I would chose between all these scents, they sounds heavenly. I appreciate your lovely words, have a wonderful and warm weekend!
ReplyDeleteKim, this would be an ideal gift now approaching the mothers day :)
ReplyDeleteI'm sure they smell wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI remember I once made some gel candles when I was a kid! It was so much fun!

I've been seeing a lot of Diptyque candles lately.
ReplyDeleteI did not know that about candles, I presumed they were all made the same!
I thought Yankee candles were the best until I came across this brand! Who'd have thought these would last a lot longer than other candles?

these are on my forever wishlist :)
ReplyDeletethanks for all your sweet comments you've left. hope your weekend is stellar, kim!
I personally do not know enough about scented candles. My friend gave me one Crabtree & Evelyn one and I love the heavenly smell that I could not even bear to light the candle. It is always in its lovely gift wrap and I put it everywhere in my wardrobe compartments that needed some heavenly scent. When I finally decided to burn it, the smell wasn't even prominent at all. I guess I've "used up" all his smell before that.

Hey Kim..
ReplyDeleteThanks for this bit of info. I have trouble finding candles that smell really good while burning. I have tried cheap to expensive. I know I am not looking for the right things when purchasing them.

I have always wanted to try these candles just because they look so chic! But they are still out of my price range, those all sound so good though!
ReplyDelete-Jacqueline
You're oh-so-right, Kim, not all candles are the same and it's so disappointing to buy a candle and hardly be able to smell it. That recently happened when I bought a peach candle and the only time I could smell it was when it wasn't burning and I placed it to my nose! I'd love to try a Dyptique .. don't know why I haven't yet but I love to find candles that both smell good and have cleaner ingredients ... I'll be looking them up! xoxo ~S

Hey Kim, do you know what candles burn for a longer period? I do a lot of meditation and candles help me focus, but looking for something that could burn for a week!

ReplyDeleteI love lighting candles when I have a bubblebath, they are so soothing! The packaging on these candles is lovely, I will have to try one out!
ReplyDeleteI use to make artistic candles and I know there are so many parameters in making a nice candle. Diptique are the best.

ReplyDeleteHello Kim! As you know I LOVE these candles! I really dislike artificial scents and things like that those diptyque is perfect! I've been wanting the lavender fragrance lately because it smells like heaven but daffodil is my favorite scent for sure!

ReplyDeleteI've learned so much from this post. My Dad is a huge candle lover I will be sure to recommend this to him. Thanks for the tips!
Excellent post Kim - I adore Diptyque candles!
ReplyDeleteHiya doll!! Hope you've been well..am finally back, I have loads to catch up on, LOL!! Great to see your posts though, their always fun to read!! I hope you have a great weekend doll!! xx
ReplyDeleteOh I LOVE Dipytique candles. I've only recently started burning their candles, the downside for me is since no stores stock them over here I have to rely on internet descriptions when making purchases. I love how strong the fragrance is, even when you're not burning it the room still have a slight perfume to it. Before Dipytique I was burning Tocca candles. Their packaging is beautiful and their scents are heavenly too but now I find them nowhere near the same quality as Dipytique. Which is your favourite fragance Kim? Now I'm curious to try out gardenia.
