Beauty In Wonderland (In Milan)

Before I begin Paris Fashion Week, I wanted to show you an exhibit I came across while watching Milan Fashion Week called "Beauty In Wonderland". The sponsors for this exhibit were P&G and Vogue. It was initially a party and then a public exhibit.

This exhibit had an Alice In Wonderland & tea party feel to it. The paper dresses, floral headpieces and paper butterflies were most exquisite. I love paper art. I loved the inside of the exhibit, but ummm, doesn't the outside look a little movie insane asylum or mental institution? HaHaHaHa

Cate Blanchett and Blake Lively were some of the attendees. Cate wore Prabal Gurung and Blake wore Gucci right off the runway. However, the bottom didn't seem to fit her properly. At least to my eyes.

Below are some instagram pics of the event (there wasn't much coverage except on vogue.com). I also found a video which shows you details of everything. I thought it was really pretty, except for the outside. HaHaHa Just look at the lounge chairs and how the male mannequins are dressed outside. They could've done better than that! Enjoy & Have A Magical Wednesday! Working on Paris now :)

  2. I will never get tired of the Alice theme! I love it. That paper couture is amazing, too. Blake's trousers are unflattering. Imagine what those Gucci numbers would do to the rest of us 'mere mortals'. Xxx
    Appreciate you chronicling Paris FW!

  16. Gosh! I've never heard of this. I agree with the comment above. I would've loved to sneak into this party, as someone who's obsessed with the Tim Burton version of the Alice movie.
I'm not usually a big fan of Blake, but I think she rocked that outfit.

  20. Well thanks for instagram! lol! What beautiful shots! You are right about Blake's outfit, it looks like it does not sit on her hips right, maybe a little long on her?

  21. The outside of this exhibit really does look strange! But the inside is beautiful, very Alice in Wonderland-esque, so I guess that makes up for it :) And I did love Cate Blanchett's look, feathers are not easy to pull off but on her they totally work.

  23. Just wanted to say you're welcome!! A bit silly to focus on a top commenter thing, when it's just a tally, hahaha!! It wasn't a contest, the prize was fantastic blog posts, people are so silly these days!! You just keep making beautiful posts & never worry about those people, just keep sweeping them away as they come and give no thought to them...you do a marvellous job & your blog is my favourite place to come for a magazine like experience! It seriously is like a magazine - webzine like blog, I think. It's grand and I always enjoy it!! The people who stay and give you the back the same that you give them are the ones that you keep your focus on!! All the rest can take a long walk off a short pier and swim with nemo ;) hhahahah!!just keep swimmin' just keep swimmin', LOL! I know I'm making you laugh, so acting is a fool is ok with me, hahaha!! Love you too doll :))

  27. It does look rather magical and I love the purple glow in the first photo. I understand what you mean about those black pants too. The paper dresses are fabulous. They remind me of the ones we saw last year at a vintage show where college students had made amazing dresses out of wallpaper - you may remember the post. Hope your week is going well Kim.
