Challenge #12 - Get a DAILY dose of laughter! - One of the best ways to de-stress is to LAUGH. A simple SMILE can change your mood. Nowadays, I make sure I get a daily dose. I still read the comics section, in my local newspaper. I follow a local comedian on Twitter, who always cracks jokes about current events and what's going on locally in the city. Jacque, (a host) from QVC, is always posting funny sayings and pictures on instagram that make me giggle. I think the most important thing, is to surround yourself with positive people, as much as possible. Connect with people that will lift you UP and make you LAUGH & SMILE. Over the years, I cut a lot of people out of my life because they didn't make me feel good. They drained me with no outlook, no progressiveness, jealousy, negativity and superficiality. You can't expect EVERYday to be a good day, but when someone complains all the time, it becomes tiresome. If someone makes you cry more than smile, evaluate your relationship with them. Anyone that truly loves and cares about you, wants nothing but THE BEST for you :) They'll want to put a SMILE on your face (not a frown or tears). I hope I can make you SMILE and LAUGH today. Have a great Tuesday!
Lol sleepy with a 90% chance of naps. Sounds like my kind of weekend ;)

I love the Snoopy clippings, lol. It's true we all need laughter and a smile daily. Good comedy always makes me feel better. Have a wonderful week Kim! :)/Madison

ReplyDeleteThe Dragonfruit Diaries
This was exactly what I needed to see on my way into work after a four day weekend - thanks Kim!
ReplyDeleteHahaha these are so cuteee! Yes, I agree that smile is the best way to relax and de-stress. Some people are just not meant to be my friends and I avoid such people. I get my daily giggle from 9gag. I love this site!

Kim, you could not be more right. I agree with everything in this post and I just wish I had the balls to cut the negative people out! It is hard, though, when a friendship has last many years and you later realise that particular friend is weighing you down. It's difficult to just cut someone out like that. So for the moment, I am putting up with it and treating her as my 'special case', an exception if you will.
ReplyDeleteI do love British shows too; I just think America comes up with some great stories. I am also a great Downton Abbey fan; I'm planning a British television feature to rival against my American one, see what people think and how the shows fare! Hope you're having a lovely week. Rosemary x

ReplyDeleteHappy week. X
Aaaaaw...thanks for this post, Kim:) Great way to start my morning. (That Snoopy one is tooooo cute!)
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah....totally agree with what you wrote. If someone is such a negative force in your life, better to let them go.
Have a fab Tuesday, my dear.
You reminded me of a Nietzsche quote "It is impossible to suffer without making someone pay for it; every complaint already contains revenge'. I think it's very true... I think a bit of negativity in life isn't going to hurt, as long as it's centred and true, but that kind of constant negativity that feels poisonous for the mind should definitely be replaced with smiles and positivity otherwise it'll just make you ill... x
ReplyDeleteYou are so right Kim! Laughter is a great way to relax and become more physically and emotionally balanced. I am lucky in that my husband makes me laugh and keeps on doing so now (which is especially important since I'm so exhausted taking care of the little one these days!)

There's nothing like reading the comics section in the daily paper to start your day off on the right foot - it's something I haven't done for years and you've inspired me to get back to it!

I totally agree with you that the best way to reduce stress is just to laugh it off! :) In my life there are few people who will do practically anything to uplift my mood when I feel bad & I try to surround myself around them when I am feeling stressed or sad! :)
ReplyDelete& of course, comics do help as well! :)

Laughter is so important in our lives, I always read the comics too. :) And you are right, we should really get rid of people that brings us down in our life. Our life is too precious for us to surround ourselves with these kinds of people. I hope you've had a peaceful Easter, dear!
ReplyDeleteso true. I love to laugh and it will elevates my mood for sure! =)

Great post, Kim!! I totally agree. Life is too short to surround yourself with negative people. I had to do the same thing, including relatives. They were toxic to my life and hardly have any nice thing to say and I didn't want my kids to be exposed to that. It was hard to do, but life has been looking up ever since :)
ReplyDeleteheheh thanks for sharing Kim, so sweet and fun =)
ReplyDeleteThanks for this wonderful dose of laughter Kim, I needed it! Hope you had a wonderful Easter!
ReplyDeleteWell said, we don't need these negative people from our lives, spending time with them can only influence our thoughts and attitude more than we think :)

I like you, you better stay away from people who do not contribute anything good in our lives and just overwhelm us with a dose of pessimism, by the way I love Snoopie :3

Haha, I also think it is very important to think positive and always try to laugh, but sometimes it is hard to remember.

Kim, I couldn't agree more! I always feel so much better after a good laugh. When I saw that pic of Lumburg from Office Space, I had to smile (giggled, actually)--I adore that film--even thinking about it makes me laugh. Hugs, Sweetie! T. http://tickledpinkwoman.blogspot.com

Haha, I love the Peanuts cartoon of Snoopy! I always enjoy Peanuts, I grew up on everything Charlie Brown. Taking time to laugh every day is a wonderful idea! Did you know that if you manage to belly laugh for 30 minutes every day for a month, you will get a six pack? So you might not only make yourself happier, but healthier too!

I'm so happy for you that you have managed to cut negative people out of your life. I've also managed to cut some people out. Maybe we are still friends/acquaintance but nope, we don't have to meet every single occasion. I've got many other more valuable friends to meet on occasions for.
ReplyDeleteThe Snoopy comic is just too cute. I love it!
Kim,
ReplyDeleteI love your post! Believe it or not I just had this convo with my sister. We have this certain friend that constantly complains. I told my sister how does she expect God to bless her with more when she's not having faith in Him to get her out of her current situation. It's draining listening to someone complain all the time. Thanks for this post it was right on time.
