Rituals Lao Tze Cooling Foot Balm, Qing Fa Cooling Foot Scrub, Pink Sand Nail Lacquer Review & Swatches

Rituals sent me some of their hand & feet products to review. I reviewed their Sakura Sugar Body Scrub & Spring Foaming Shower Oil last month and I'm still smitten with both. Below are my thoughts on their Lao Tze Cooling Foot Balm, Qing Fa Cooling Foot Scrub and Pink Sand Nail Lacquer.

Sweet-Bittersweet-NotSweet
supersweet(run & buy it) sweet(really good,buy it) bittersweet(ok, issues)not sweet(not good,don't buy this stuff)

Rituals Qing Fa Cooling Foot Scrub $16 - Sweet

This foot scrub felt really good to my feet. You can see the micro-beads and they provide just the right amount of exfoliation. Sometimes with foot scrubs, formulas can be too harsh and abrasive. That's not the case with this one. I also like the fact that it's not greasy or oily. It exfoliates your feet and the product washes away cleanly. This foot scrub is light green in color, contains Chinese Mint & Yi Yi Ren, and to my nose has a light minty-menthol scent. My feet felt very soft afterwards. The only thing that kept me from giving it a supersweet rating was I didn't detect a cooling sensation. But other than that, this stuff is great. My feet are HAPPY :) This scrub also feels more tailored to feet. I was just using regular body scrub on my feet before (Soap & Glory Breakfast Scrub), which is super awesome but this feels better on my mootsie tootsies :)

Rituals Lao Tze Cooling Foot Balm $15 - Supersweet

I REALLY like this foot balm. It smells like peppermint! It smells like AUTHENTIC peppermint! It's a thick white cream that's very moisturizing, but WILL NOT leave your feet greasy or oily. I also like the fact that it's fast absorbing and cool when applied. It left my feet feeling very soft. I'm also going to use this on my legs (knees down). Before trying this, I was just using regular lotion. I've tried Burt's Bees Peppermint Foot Lotion which was good, but I'm finding that products that are tailored for feet work better than regular body lotions. They seem richer and seem to penetrate the skin better. Does that make sense? Anyone else feel that way? Maybe the peppermint has gone to my brain >.<

Rituals Pink Sand Nail Polish Lacquer $8 - Bittersweet

Beautiful color! It's a pinky-beige neutral, that' s perfect for Summer. It also has a nice shine to it. The problem I had with this nail lacquer was it's performance. It's not fast drying on it's own. You need to allocate a good 15-20 minutes for this particular shade to really dry (or risk smudging/dents) or use some fast drying drops (not sure what it's officially called). I would also suggest using a top/bottom coat or a chip-free coating (Rituals has one HERE), because I started seeing wear at the tips around the 3rd day (just with the nail polish alone). I applied 2 coats to my nails below.

  4. I love Rituals, they're a great brand and I don't think they get enough hype around their products! I used one of their shaving foams in the past that was also a shower gel and that remains a firm favourite! It left skin super soft and smelt amazing! :)

  6. These sounds nice Kim! That's good that the balm soaks in and doesn't feel oily, I hate it when products do that!

  8. I have tried Rituals products before and I really like them! Bummer about the nail polish though, I am picky with nail polish, lol. I hope that you are having a great week, Kim!

  9. nice reviews! sucks about the nail lacquer taking too long to dry, it is a beautiful color, i would totally wear that kind of shade to the lab so when it chips its not as noticeable :)

  10. It's been years since I've thought about using foot specific products - when I lived in a cold climate they were practically a neccessity but these days the humidity and regular body lotion give me all I need. I do miss that peppermint smell, though!

  13. Anything "cooling" on my skin sounds fabulous--especially on the feet! Too bad about the nail polish. I've tried several types that took forever to dry and there is always smudge involved. Nice color, though. T. http://tickledpinkwoman.blogspot.com

  16. I've never heard of this line before, glad to hear that the foot scrub and foot balm is nice. Like you, I've used body scrub for the foot, but that's about it. I'll need to give this a try because my feet really needs it :)

  21. Shame that polish takes so long to dry as it looks like such a nice colour!

I agree on giving it a poorer rating because of the dry time too. I'm finding I don't have time for any polishes that need 2 coats now with baby, haha! I barely have time for 1 coat! ;)

The peppermint lotion sounds great! I used to have one - it was by Mary Kay - great in summer as I really felt it cooling my legs with the peppermint! I think I actually finished it as I liked it so much - I rarely manage to use up an entire tub if things!

So excited to have won the giveaway too, yey!

  26. Last weekend I was standing at front of rituals stand in shop and was thinking which bodyscrub you tried. And couldn't remember. Now I will. I'm always up to good foot creams. Didn't know that they have nail polishes as well.

  27. These sound gorgeous. Never tried this brand before, but I like the sound of it. Shame about the nail polish though. I'm not one who likes to wait around for my nails to dry, so I'd most likely get annoyed with that. Marvellous review :) Have a great day Kim!! x
