Tarte Cosmetics Double Duty Beauties Discovery Set Review and Swatches

I'm excited to talk to you today about the Tarte Double Duty Beauties Discovery Set ($36) I purchased at ULTA. You can purchase all of these items individually, but they would add up to $101. HaHaHa So it's safe to say, this is an excellent deal. I reviewed Tarte's Peachy Glow Blush & Glow Palette. I really liked it and wanted to try another shade. Well this set gives you Pink Champagne Glow! What I like about it, is it's a grown up pink! It's very pigmented. A little goes a very long way and it agrees with my complexion. When I first started blogging, I picked all the wrong pinks and ended up throwing a lot away. So on one side is the blush and the other side is a champagne shade highlighter. It's really pretty. I really like these Tarte blush/highlighter duos. I may get more. There seems to be a Rose Gold and also Coral option. I've always been a fan of Tarte blushes. Let me tell you what SURPRISED ME! Their Maneater Mascara! Anyone ready to sing Maneater by Darryl Hall & John Oates LOL. I always dismissed it because of its kitschy name & packaging. But this mascara is absolutely amazing! It separates your lashes. Coats them in black. Your lashes still bend after applying it. No sticking of lashes together or clumping. Do you see my lashes? UD Perversion was my go to mascara but I think I'll be switching to this one. LOL I am that impressed! Next is the Tarte Lip Architect. It's a double ended lip liner and lipstick. In this set they give you Delightful! It must be an exclusive color, because I don't see where you can buy it individually, but there are other similar shades. It's creamy. It stays put. It doesn't crack or feel dry. I love it. The last product in this set is Tarte's new perfume: Sweet Tarte Fragrance Rollerball. The notes are as follows: Top: orange, mandarin, passion fruit & berry Heart: passion fruit, lychee, gardenia & vanilla Base: vanilla, cedarwood, sandalwood & musk. This was the only product I wasn't crazy about in the set. It's not bad, but it's just blah! I can't even describe it. It's just a super soft perfume that dissipates quickly. LOL But I still give this set a Supersweet rating.

  3. Oh I'm going to have to give that mascara a try Kim! I still love the single Tarte blush I have left after winning a few in a giveaway you did once, it's my go-to blush and while they didn't all survive toddler attacks, I am nearly through to the end of the one I have left so I need to replace it - will keep an eye out for this set when I do! :)

Hope you are having a nice week so far! :)

  4. What a great set, Kim! I haven't bought anything from Tarte in awhile, so I've been really missing out. This would make such a nice gift to boot...well, except for the rollerball:P

  12. I love discovery sets because they offer the chance to try a lot of different products without the commitment of paying the full price or having to try to use a full product if it turns out not to work for you. These shades all look gorgeous on you Kim, and I agree - the right shade of pink is hard to find, but once you know the shades that suit you, a good pink can be a wonderful thing.

  15. I love the fact that every time I visit your blog, there is a new post to read Kim!! It is such an amazing deal and I am so jealous that you get to try great brands in great prices!! I wish they were available here but if they were, I know they would be soooooo expensive (as all products are) :)

  17. The split pan reminded me of Becca split pans! I didn't mind Tarte but after that shit they pulled on IG, I'm no longer supporting them.

  19. This set is really an amazing value Kim! And the products created such a polished and pretty look on you! I've decided to ban Tarte after they reposted that racist meme. As an Asian I found it extremely offensive and I'm done. O_o

  20. Ha ! I would have dismissed the Man eater mascara for the name too !
Have you tried Mr BIG my Lancome ? I had my makeup done this weekend for a wedding and I expected so much more length than what I got..

  22. Wow those colours are really beautiful on you. I've never thought much about blush. I've been using Orgasm by NARS for years and never really looked at other blushes since. I've never really given shades much though but now I'm thinking I really should. Blush can really uplift any look so I'm selling myself short here hahaha!
