1. Get to know the teachers at your child’s school. One of the best ways to help your children with their learning is to be on board with the people who are with them throughout the day. Their teacher is your best bet and they will be happy to talk with you about their learning, any difficulties and any issues.
2. Consider their friendship groups. Children are different around their friends compared to being around you, and that’s okay - they have their own personality. However, it can help you to know who they are spending their time with and the influences that are on them while you’re not around. Each school has different staff from the teachers, too, so it can help to know who’s on your side.
3. Consider their academic achievements. How is your child doing at school? Are they sociable and happy or are they having issues keeping up with the rest of the class? These are things that you need to know and you need to know how your child is doing academically so that you know how to support them when they’re at home with you. 5. Bring the school in on the concerns. If you are in any way worried, bring in the head teachers and the support staff on your concerns. You need to know if your kids are having trouble learning and the school needs to know if there are issues with learning at home, too.
