Oh Lollipop! Benefit Lollitint Review

I went to my local Ulta store about 2 weeks ago to purchase Benefit's Lollitint ($30 USD), but they hadn't unpacked it yet. I wanted to tell them, I would happily unpack it for them. HaHaHa I eagerly wanted to try it, because it mimics the Pantone Color for 2014, which is Radiant Orchid and I have nothing like it in my beauty stash. I went back to ULTA Friday, and they had 1 left! I grabbed the last box, lifted it in the air and said "It's mine! It's all mine!" HaHaHa ;) I also received 20% off, because they had a Friends & Family Event. So it paid for me to wait ;)

Sweet-Bittersweet-NotSweet
supersweet(run & buy it) sweet(really good,buy it) bittersweet(ok, issues)not sweet(not good,don't buy this stuff)
Benefit's Lollitint is Sweet

Benefit's Lollitint is the NEWest in a series of Benefit Tints (Bene Tint, Posie Tint, Cha Cha Tint and Lolli Tint). It's a light purple, liquid, lip & cheek stain. I swatched all the colors for you, so you could see the difference. All of them pretty much have the same consistency, except for Bene Tint. It's more liquidity and as you can see from my hand bleeds into fine lines. If you would like to see my review on Cha Cha Tint, click HERE (excuse my skin, gosh it's come a long way! HaHaHa)

Let's talk about the application of Benefit's Lollitint. It's tricky. Don't let the light color fool you! It's powerful and you don't need much. Too much and YOU WILL look like a clown. Dot & blend. Dot & blend. Look in the mirror and see how it's going. This is a STAIN and it STAYS ON! It STAYS on your cheeks, lips and may I add fingertips. HaHaHa It will LAUGH at your makeup remover! So be ready to have blush-colored cheeks for at least 2 days. What I did below, was add Lolli Tint to my bare face AND THEN applied my foundation (Urban Decay). As you can see it showed THROUGH my foundation (which gave me the look I was looking for). It did better underneath my foundation, than on top of it. I then applied the Lollitint to my lips. It showed up very nicely. It's a lovely purple. Surprisingly, it was a lot darker on my lips. I loved the overall look. It's FRESH! The color is very soft when applied correctly. So technique is crucial.

I had to show you the display at my local store (GIF on left) (it's a mirror & crystal...it's nice), but while I was on instagram I came across THIS cute Benefit Lollitint display (instagram picture credit: summmer21). Asian stores have the cutest displays! Balloons, Carnival & Hearts! There's even a heart on top of the Lollitint box. Why can't we have displays & packaging like that? LOL >.<  Have you tried any of Benefit's Tint's? If so share your experience or story.

  20. I have tried one of their lip and cheek stains that I received in a Birchbox last year but I wasn't really impressed with it and did not think the color suited my complexion. I do however LOVE the way the lollitint looks on you, the color is gorgeous!

I have to agree the packaging and display in the instagram photo is WAY cuter! :)

  43. Another great review Kim! I've always liked the classic BeneTint but it's so powerful that I have to have enough time to apply it properly - it's not for everyday wear, at least not for me, and it sounds like Lolli Tint is the same. I love the colour on you, though. Thanks so much for your sweet comment today, it meant a lot.

  62. Oh gosh. I love how you include candy (lollipops and chocolates) in your pictures to go with the product. So delicious and cute. I have to say I like Bene Tint more than Lolli Tint. I haven't embraced lip color other than bright and deep reds yet.

  65. Stains are so tricky to apply! They dry super quick and it's hard to take them off your finger tips. Does anybody know another way to apply them? Anyway, I like Lollitint on you, while I'm afraid it would look ghastly on my pale face. I would love to try the Cha Cha tint instead. Big hugs gorgeous!
