Benefit Cosmetics: Sweet or Not Product Review

Hey Everybody!
Happy Friday!

On Instagram, I told you guys I was going to "take it off" today. Well, I hope you didn't think I was going to do a striptease or something! HaHaHa What I did take off was my makeup and bared a clean face with imperfections & all for this review.

About two weeks ago, you guys requested that I do a Sweet or Not Review of Benefit. I always try to keep a promise. I decided to pick some items from their "We're Kicking Some Class" makeup campaign. It's a really cute campaign, because all of the makeup is housed in a package shaped like a book. It even opens up like a book and has a mirror! How cool! I wish beauty was THIS fun back in the day. Benefit always makes it FUN! HaHaHa

I purchased their "How To Look The Best At Everything" makeup book in Medium and the "Go TropiCORAL" book (this book also comes in Feelin' Dandy and  Sugarlicious). As of NOW, both are exclusively at Sephora. So here's my review! Hope you like it! Check it out!

Ok, you guys know my rating scale!

SWEET - BITTERSWEET - NOT SWEET

How To Look The Best At Everything $30
Contains: POREfessional, Hello Flawless Oxygen WOW, Boi-ing, Hello Flawless Powder
*if purchased separately, it would cost $118

My Final Word: SWEET! The only thing that was REALLY OFF was the foundation color. This kit only comes in Light, Medium and Dark (and as you know, one shade does not fit all). The Medium was too light for me and the Dark definitely would've been TOO dark.

My suggestion to you is to buy the kit closest to your skin tone. If the foundation doesn't work, at least you'll know whether to go lighter or darker. It's cheaper to buy the kit and another foundation (benefit offers a number of foundation shades), then each product separately. If you have a Sephora near you, go to the store to test the various shades out (that's always the BEST option) The primer is great. The concealer is excellent! The finishing powder is great.

Now It's Time To Add Color!!!

Go TropiCORAL $28
Contains: ChaCha Tint, High Beam, Coralista, Coralista Lip Gloss
*if purchased separately, it would cost $99

My Final Word: SWEET! This box (and other variations listed above) is a must buy. It gives you a very soft, tropical, glowy look. Again, I just wish I had the correct foundation. HaHaHa It's been years since I've tried Benefit! I tried them when they first started. I must say I'm very impressed by the quality. None of the makeup was heavy and it provided excellent coverage. I would definitely buy from them again.

*no extra light, touch-ups or photo-enhancing were used in any of these pictures for this review.

Did this Sweet or Not Product Review Help? Thoughts?
I thought the best way to show you was through pics and step by step,
even though I'm putting myself out there. hahaha

  1. I like their products, they do feel great on the skin. I think too, the tones they come in don't always suit the different shades of skin. I have to blend the light and dark together to get the right shade that I need. But, then I just stopped using it as I could buy something cheaper that comes out in the exact shade that I need, haha. But, they are fabulous and I do enjoy the boxes and capsules the products come in :)) Have a great weekend doll xx

  2. Kim you look lovely! In the last photo you have such a pretty, warm glow. I always admire the fun and quirky packaging on Benefit products but I haven't really tried very much. I must investigate the Coralista lip gloss - gorgeous shade.

  3. That seems like a great deal! And I love the names of the kits!:D Also it's so much easier to get a set of make-up at once instead of buying all the products seperately.

Too bad we don't have Sephore here, from what I've read on blogs it seems like an awesome store! :o

I haven't tried their foundation sets as yet, but it looks really great through your review. The cha cha tint and blush is stunning on you, you look beau-ti-ful! I want to get me these boxes too!

  18. Kim you are the best! I've recently visited Sephora and spent half an hour in front of Benefit's stand, but didn't notice these kits. Next week I'm gong back and have a look. I have one question: are these products "dermo-friendly"?So far the only foundation which my skin appreciated was Bare Minerals, but I'd like to try something different! A big big hug

  30. Hey Kim, your names for your ratings are adorable. Love how you stick with a theme and I actually bought my first benefit product and it was that oxygen glo foundation you have featured here because I wanted something lightweight in China and I really liked it! I think you look great with and without (you have beautiful skin) but these definitely look like products I'd try! I love how your so honest too and make a note about no extra lighting, etc. PS, your striptease comment at the beginning made me laugh :)

  35. I've always think Benefit is a vintage brand. The packaging and their pictures are all so old-school and so pretty!
I love their blushers! It last the whole day for me and it's vibrant. The only downside for me is that I think it's abit pricey.
