2017 Oscar Red Carpet

Hey everybody! What an Oscar night, huh! I haven't seen ANY of the movies (don't throw any popcorn at me hahaha), so I can't pass judgement. Have you seen them? Any favorites? I was very impressed with the fashion on the red carpet. Nicole Kidman got it right! I didn't like her choices for the last two award shows, but her Armani Prive gown looked absolutely superb on her. Less is more Nicole! Less is more! Another stunner was the Atelier Versace Couture gown worn by Halle Berry. That dress was gorgeous! Her hair (wig), not so much (in my opinion).  I think less at the top (wig) would've made a difference. I also loved the gown worn by Matt Dillon's wife Luciana Barroso. She looked regal. I could not find the designer! I'll be back on the blog Wednesday, with an in depth Pixi review.

Nicole Kidman (Armani Prive), Emma Stone (Givenchy Haute Couture), Hailee Steinfeld (Ralph & Russo),
Olivia Culpo (Marchesa) Luciana Barroso (?)

Salma Hayek (Alexander McQueen), Taraji P. Henson (Alberta Ferretti), Alicia Vikander (Louis Vuitton),
Halle Berry (Atelier Versace Couture), Kirsten Dunst (Dior Haute Couture)

Priyanka Chopra (Ralph & Russo), Naomie Harris (Calvin Klein), Viola Davis (Armani),
Michelle Williams (Louis Vuitton), Sofia Carson (Monique Lhuillier)

MAC Betty Boop Red Lipstick Review & Swatches

I almost didn't get this lipstick, but I'm SO GLAD I did! Everyone kept saying there was no special packaging! Even beauty enthusiasts that received it for free. I was a little confused & on the fence about this, because sometimes companies only send specially packaged makeup (outside container) to beauty enthusiasts to review; and when regular consumers buy the product they don't get all of the extras. I didn't know if the box was extra or not! I took a chance and ordered this lipstick. The lipstick itself doesn't have special packaging, but the outside carton (box) the lipstick comes in does. Hello! Hallo! Outside packaging IS PACKAGING! HaHaHa My little beauty room has a Betty Boop shelf! Don't worry, I haven't showcased it yet. I did get a lovely mirror for it over the holidays, but I have to get my contractor to put up some more shelves (for all the eye shadow palettes I have accumulated collected tee hee) and order some more acrylic makeup containers. It will get done. I refuse to show it until everything is together (but it will be soon). But anyway, this Betty Boop box will display perfectly on my Betty Boop shelf (see a sneak peak below...remember the Jean Paul Gaultier Betty Boop perfume I got last year). So about the lipstick! It's a creamy, blue toned red. The formula is really nice. I usually detest blue reds, but this one has proven to be very lovely. I love it! Do you already have this red in your lipstick collection? Yes. Probably. Highly Likely. So you don't need it! But if you love Betty Boop or just want a lipstick with the name Betty Boop Red on the bottom, you should get it. Vain, yes. But I think some missed out on this due to everyone saying no special packaging! Everyone IS hoping MAC will come out with a MAC x Betty Boop COLLECTION ... WITH SPECIAL PACKAGING! It would be so popular. I do think they're coming out with a Beauty & The Beast Collection, but I haven't seen anything so far. If you have, please let me know :) This lipstick was issued on Valentine's Day! And I'm happy to tell you, MAC Betty Boop Red Lipstick ($17) is still available on MAC's website if interested.

OFRA Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick: Miami Fever, Solano, Americano, Honolulu and Mina Review and Swatches

I love established makeup brands, but lately I've been (and many others have been) trying a lot of Indie (not India) Brands. Indie Brands are smaller, lesser known makeup companies. They've become VERY POPULAR and there are MANY OF THEM! As a matter of fact, many of those well established makeup brands sometimes buy them (because they are such a threat). There are a lot of Indie brands out there! Are they all good? Of course not. But many do have really good products and ethics. OFRA Cosmetics has been on my beauty radar, so I wanted to try their liquid lipsticks. I caught a sale the end of last year and purchased six. I'm very impressed! The colors (pigmentation) are truly beautiful. The only one that was streaky was Mina (the darkest shade). The formula is also featherweight. They're very light on the lips. Now, these do dry down MATTE (do not expect them to be moisturizing). What I noticed though, is that they don't flake or crack once dried and most importantly do not look dry. They give you great color and look beautiful on the lips. Solano was the only metallic I purchased and I love it as well. Bottom line with OFRA, is that they create really good liquid lipsticks and they're PETA cruelty free. Just keep in mind, that with any matte formulated lipstick, your lips should be moisturized (because these don't provide any extra moisture). I also like that OFRA provides accurate lip swatches on their website. So it's easier to select a color & see how it looks on the lips. Have you tried any OFRA products? I have a highlighter from them I still have to review ... Rodeo Drive >.<

Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Sucre Review

Viva La Juicy Sucre is my FIRST Juicy Couture perfume and Sucre is the newest fragrance in the Juicy Couture perfume family library. The perfumes for Juicy Couture have always been outfitted in the cutest packaging and Sucre is no exception. The perfume bottle sits in a sturdy gold cupcake/candy wrapper holder (permanently attached). White icing drips from atop the perfume bottle. The bottle is then graced with a beautiful pink & white polka dot bow. Everything about it is super cute and I absolutely adore its sweet theme. Some words to describe Sucre are gentle, soft, sugary and sweet. That is the essence of this perfume. It's also light & airy. I can't picture this perfume being offensive to anybody. I sprayed it three times on my arm as I sit here typing this and I keep sniffing my arm. The fragrance notes are as follows: Top - Brazilian gardenia, mandarin, red currant; Mid - Orange flower, jasmine flower, peach nectar, almond cream; Dry Down - Cocoa bean, sandalwood, whipped cream, vanilla extract. This fragrance is perfect for Spring & Summer. Plus it will look cute on any vanity. The only reason, I don't give it a Supersweet rating is because of its lightness. Don't expect it to last all day. You are however left with a light sugary and marshmallow scent. As always, try this on in the store. Walk around and see how it changes. Everyone's chemistry is different. This perfume comes in 3 sizes (rollerball and two different perfume sizes). Brace yourself for the price! It is not cheap. I purchased mine from ULTA. I can't tell you about any of the other Juicy Couture perfumes. I must've not liked their very first one, because I remember trying it and stayed away. LOL I need to revisit them. My blog buddy Desle of Diva Desle blog reviewed Viva La Juicy Gold Couture and loved it. I'm not a big perfume person. When I was growing up, many perfumes were loud and I swore off of them. So many are so much better now. I'm slowly putting together a collection of favorites. Have a sweet day :)

I always love looking at packaging details & how companies market their products (parties, events)
If I knew marketing would be this much fun, I would've said forget Science LOL!
You can't help but love the cute theme of all these events & stores. It's a dessert paradise.
