Yves Saint Laurent Mon Paris Perfume Review

I purchased a lot of perfumes this month: Viktor & Rolf Bon Bon, Carolina Herrera Good Girl, and Juicy Couture Gold & Noir. My little perfume collection has grown. My favorites out of this group have been Viktor & Rolf, Carolina Herrera and now Yves Saint Lauren Mon Paris. When Mon Paris first came out, I instantly fell in love with the bottle. The shape of the bottle feels so good in the hands. It has some weight to it, but is easy to hold. Although mainly smooth (except at the top),  it feels like an expensive white diamond. Another lovely feature is its signature Yves Saint Laurent black bow! You always see it on YSL designs (on the runway), so I like that they incorporated it on the perfume bottle. The scent is absolutely fabulous! The notes are as follows: (Top) Strawberry, Raspberry, Bergamot, Calone (Middle/Heart) Pear, Orange Flower, Jasmin Sambac, White Peony, Datura (Base) Patchouli, White Musk, Ambrox, Cedarwood, Crystal Moss. The only way I can describe it, is that it smells like luscious juicy fruit (not the gum you guys! not the gum. LOL) & sparkling champagne. It's so delightful! I smile every time I take a whiff. I super love this and unlike other fragrances, it doesn't change on you. I love this so, that I'm putting it right up there with my absolute favorite perfume Wish by Lollia. So do take a sniff, the next time you're shopping :) It's offered in an array of sizes and is priced from $29 - $124. I'm glad I added this one to my collection. Have you tried it? Have a great day!

Nudestix Nudies All Over Face Color Matte in Deep Maple, Eh Review and Swatches

Nudestix has been on my beauty radar for awhile. For some reason, every time I see the word Nudestix I think of Nutella. I equate everything with food ;) Yes, even beauty products! Nudestix is the brainchild of two daughters (Ally & Taylor) and their mom (Jenny). The brand believes in NATURAL, NO FUSS, NUDE LOOKS that don't take much time. Their products are Vegan Friendly & Cruelty Free. Their products are also formulated without parabens, sulfates & phthalates. Those things alone are awesome! They came out with these multi-functional makeup sticks last year (you can use them on your lips, cheeks and eyes), but it took me until this year to purchase one. Why? I don't know about you, but I've had some less than stellar multi-functional makeup sticks! Either they work great as a lipstick, but not great for eyes or lips. Or they are too dry for my skin. The list of problems can go on! I was worried about Nudestix being the same way! WELL THEY ARE NOT AND I AM HOOKED! I haven't been this excited about a product in a long time :D The stick is CREAMY! The color is PIGMENTED! Despite that it says it's matte, IT DOESN'T FEEL MATTE! As a lipstick, just look at the sheen on my lips! It's not dry or cake-y! I dabbed some on my cheeks and it blended beautifully. It gives such a natural flush to the cheeks. I put some on my eyelids. To myself, I was mumbling it was going to be too overwhelming for the eyes. It was not! Again, it gave a beautiful touch of color to them. I am so PLEASED with this product! It's expensive! It's $30, but I can see myself using this every single day. On one end of the stick, is the product. I purchased mine in Deep Maple, Eh (brown). There are 5 shades in total. The stick twists up! I have it fully twisted in the large picture below. On the other end is a brush (you use to blend the product). It's very soft and does a great job blending the product out. This stick comes in a tin and the lid of the tin has a mirror. So this is great for on-the-go. If you've been hesitant about trying these, don't be! I definitely want to purchase more and try some other products. When I do, I'll definitely share them on the blog. Have you tried anything from Nudestix?

Cocoa & Contour: Kat Von D Shade Light, Lorac Pro Contour, Too Faced Cocoa Contour, Marc Jacobs Contour and ISH Contour Review and Swatches

Last year I reviewed 99% of my makeup collection! Well here's the last 1%... the rest of my contour palettes! I've reviewed a number of contour palettes. Some of my favorites have been the Too Faced Sweet Peach Glow Highlighting Palette, Tarteist Pro Glow Highlight & Contour Palette, Smashbox Lighting Theory Palette, Mally Shimmer Shape & Glow, and Tarte Makeup By Shayla Contour Palette. Other palettes in my collection that I also use to contour with are the Becca Cosmetics Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette, Becca Sunchaser Palette, and Bobbi Brown Face & Bronzing Duo. The palettes below are ones I purchased (ISH was gifted) when contouring first became HOT! I never reviewed them. They're still available for purchase. Are they still worth buying? Let me share my thoughts. Please share yours.

Kat Von D Shade + Light Contour Palette ($49) - Supersweet
I understand why everyone raved about Kat Von D's Shade Light Contour Palette. It's really good. This is the powder version. There's now both a cream & powder version (that you can customize). Her website offers 3 contour shades and 3 highlight shades. Pick and choose what works for you! All 6 shades worked for me and gave me a natural looking contour. They really blend well and define the face beautifully. I'm interested in trying her cream contour.

Lorac Pro Contour Palette ($45) - Sweet
Another really good contour palette is Lorac's Pro Contour Palette. 3 highlighters and 3 contour shades are also offered in this palette, but all the shades didn't work for me. I used the medium contour and both the beige & shimmer highlight in my look below. So I think for many, you'll only use 1/2 of this palette. It's really pigmented and comes with a great brush & mirror, but again the shade choices limit you.

Too Faced Cocoa Contour ($42) - Supersweet
This contour palette really surprised me! I didn't expect a lot from it, but it's really good! Too Faced gives you 3 contour shades and 1 highlight shade, but I use the light contour under my eyes and as a highlight. So I pretty much have 2 contour shades and 2 highlighters with this palette. I found the shades easy to blend with my makeup. It comes with a great mirror and brush. For anyone that doesn't want a heavy duty contour, but just wants to do some shading this is great. It's a great everyday contour palette.

ISH Contour Kit Light/Medium ($32) - Sweet
This was gifted to me! Thank you Rowena of Rolala Loves Blog! And what a great little palette. It contains a highlighter, blush, bronzer and contour shade. As a contour it's very lightweight. Great for everyday! The real razamataz is the highlighter, blush and bronzer. It gives you a wonderful glow and shockingly that pink blush looked good on me.

Marc Jacobs #Instamarc Mirage Filter 40 Contour ($49) - Bittersweet
Overall, I haven't had much luck with Marc Jacobs makeup EXCEPT FOR HIS LIPSTICKS! Love them! When I swatched this I knew I was doomed. LOL There are actually 3 of these you can choose from. Maybe I picked the wrong one. LOL This one didn't work for my skin tone. It just kind of blended in and didn't contour at all. Oh well :S It's a very classy palette. Sleek in design. Great mirror. I would definitely swatch this before buying. It didn't do anything for me.
