Fogo De Chao Brazilian Steakhouse Review | Dallas, Texas

Not Sponsored: Hey Everybody! I vacationed for a week in Dallas (Uptown), Texas this Summer. I stayed at Hotel ZaZa Dallas (it's a boutique hotel) located in (the uptown area of) Dallas, Texas. During that time, I patronized several restaurants. I would like to review them for you, just in case you're thinking about visiting Dallas, Texas. There are a LOT of restaurants to choose from in the uptown area of Dallas. It's a lovely area. No matter where you stay in the world, I would encourage you to use Google Maps (Google Map your hotel), then click on restaurants to see what restaurants are nearby your hotel (vicinity). Use apps/websites like Yelp, OpenTable, Resy and Tripadvisor to review each restaurant. Using all of these free wonderful tools really helped me :)

Bread Winners Cafe and Bakery was another restaurant that was highly recommended while visiting Uptown Dallas. So I definitely made sure to put it on my list to visit. It's a lovely building that holds many surprises (more about that in a little bit). We were pleasantly and enthusiastically greeted when we arrived. I loved the two gentlemen that greeted us. As soon as you walk through the entrance, your eyes and mouth will drop looking at all of the beautiful cakes, pies, and assortment of pastries in the display cases before you. They look so delicious! After putting my eyeballs back in their socket and stuffing my tongue back in my mouth, one of the greeters gave us a beautiful tour of the restaurant. Every room in the restaurant has its own personality (theme rooms). You can dine inside, outside and there is even an open air courtyard within the building. That is where we chose to have breakfast. I loved the cobblestone flooring, airy space, assortment of succulent plants and little birds that hopped around (yes, there are the cutest little sparrows that hop around) in the area where we had breakfast. I took pictures and we sat and sat and sat (15-20 minutes). It wasn't that busy, but no one came and took our order. So I walked through some doors to a kitchen area and mentioned to a guy that no one has taken our order. He was very nice and said I will take your order. So he did and then we waited for our food. We just had a basic breakfast (bacon, eggs, potatoes and grits). I don't know, for some reason I think I was expecting more from their food. It was ok, but nothing where I would want to go back and the grits were different than what I'm use to (that happens). I did order a plate of pancakes with strawberries. He first brought out waffles, but had to take them back because I ordered pancakes. I will say, the pancakes were VERY GOOD! Lovely place. Lovely people that work there. The food ... hmmm! Order the pancakes and something else we didn't try or consider going for dinner.

Si Tapas Spanish Cuisine Restaurant Review | Dallas, Texas

Not Sponsored: Hey Everybody! I vacationed for a week in Dallas (Uptown), Texas this Summer. I stayed at Hotel ZaZa Dallas (it's a boutique hotel) located in (the uptown area of) Dallas, Texas. During that time, I patronized several restaurants. I would like to review them for you, just in case you're thinking about visiting Dallas, Texas. Use apps/websites like Yelp, OpenTable, Resy and Tripadvisor to review each restaurant. Using all of these free wonderful tools really helped me :)

I chose Si Tapas (this restaurant serves classical and contemporary Spanish cuisine), not only for its great reviews but because of the owner's (chef) touching story. Executive Chef Jose Luis Lopez credits his grandmother for teaching him to cook when he was just eight years old, "She always told me, 'you need to learn; this might help you one day.'" I thought that was so beautiful. So touching. I'm trying to patronize smaller businesses. They have wonderful stories and talent. When you visit Si Tapas, you feel as if you're visiting someone's home. They have a welcoming staff and our waitress was very accommodating. We ordered iced tea and you guys it was a delicious Pomegranate Green Tea by The Republic of Tea (you can order it online). It was refreshing and delicious. For a small restaurant, their menu is extensive (many pages long). For an appetizer we had the Tablos de quesos con jamon Iberico y lomo Iberico (Your choices of cheeses w/Iberico ham and Iberico cured pork loin). The assortment was delectable. The bread that came out with it, was served hot, tasty and delicious. They even brought us more. We had a second appetizer! I read so many great reviews regarding their garlic shrimp, that I had to try the dish. It was absolutely DELICIOUS! We then shared their Paella de Mariscos (Seafood Paella that serves two). Trust me, it is enough for two people! This was my first time trying paella (so I can't compare it to others), but it was tasty and delicious. They also serve a Paella Mixta (classic mixed seafood, chicken, and pork Paella) and a Paella Valenciana (classic vegetarian Paella). Their menu offers many options, from steak, to chicken, quail, lambchops and so much more. I was so full, I didn't get dessert. But they have many dessert options. Its a lovely restaurant. Very intimate. Delicious Food. Laid back setting. Highly recommended.

Meso Maya Comida Y Copas Review | Dallas, Texas

My first night in Dallas, I made reservations via Open Table at Meso Maya Comida Y Copas. Meso Maya Comida Y Copas serves authentic Mexican cuisine. I loved the aesthetics of Meso Maya both inside and outside. The architecture of the building has true Spanish style (beautiful ironwork, lanterns etc). The Spanish flooring and table settings inside gave an authentic feel. Although busy, it never gave off a cramped feel. I felt very comfortable and relaxed. Our waiter was very nice and accommodating. The restaurant gives you a complimentary bowl of tortillas and dipping sauce. Our appetizer was Chicharrones (berkshire pork jaw, tomatillo salsa verde, pickled red onions, cilantro, queso de rancho, served in housemade white corn tortillas). It was served piping hot in a Staub cast iron serving dish. We then had Carne Asada (wood fired marinated steak, homemade sweet corn tamal, crema mexicana, queso fresco, black beans) and Chuleta De Cerdo (fire roasted bone-in pork chop, elote con crema, sauteed house vegetables, pipian rojo sauce). BOTH were so delicious. Excellent cuts of meat, excellently prepared, seasoned and delicious. I enjoyed every bite! But if I had to pick a winner, I would HIGHLY SUGGEST you order the Carne Asada. Now for dessert! THIS IS A MUST YOU GUYS! THIS IS A MUST! The cake below is called Pastel de Chocolate (its moist oaxacan dark chocolate cake, with fresh corn ice cream - you don't taste the corn, with warm chocolate rum sauce). It is so good!!! I enjoyed every bite. It was so good, I even ordered a cup of decaf coffee with mine (and their coffee is so smooth and delicious). Meso Maya is fun, relaxing and the food is delicious. The dress is nice casual. You don't have to hassle with parking, because there is a huge parking lot in the rear that allows for 2 hour free parking while you dine. Just park and cross the street. Someone drives around the lot, makes a note of what time you parked and the 2 hour time begins. Two hours gives you ample time to eat. There are 2 other restaurants behind Meso Maya (see my gif below). One is called El Fenix Mexican Restaurant and the other is called Taqueria La Ventana. Both looked FUN. When I go back, I definitely want to revisit this area. Meso Maya has locations throughout Texas. I hope this review helps you in your decision-making :)

A Splendid Time Trying Splendid Spoon

Disclosure: I received a box of Splendid Spoon for review. I was not paid. All opinions are honest and 100% my own.

PR Sample: Hey Everybody! I was asked if I would like to try Splendid Spoon. Of course I said YES, because trying things is what I LOVE to do. Splendid Spoon was founded in 2011. They are out of New York and are a home meal delivery service. You may be asking yourself, how is this home meal delivery service DIFFERENT from others!?! Well, I'll give you several answers to that question! Their meals are VEGAN. They're also PLANT-BASED. They're GLUTEN-FREE. The meals contain NO ADDED SUGARS, are HEART HEALTHY, PROTEIN PACKED and are UNPROCESSED. ALL MEALS ARE READY-TO-EAT (that means NO COOKING)! YOU GET TO PICK WHAT YOU WANT AND HOW OFTEN YOU WANT TO RECEIVE A BOX! Why am I shouting? I'm just a little excited. Let me share my experience!

The first thing I noticed upon receiving Splendid Spoon was the packaging. I'm a detail girl! I notice the details. Packaging and presentation are everything (to me)! The food was packaged so nicely! The box was heavy-duty, sturdy and held all its contents. The box contained dry ice, so the food remained cold. The box contained two layers of food items: soups & shots (top) and then smoothies (bottom). Everything was in tact. Nothing was crushed. Nothing spilled. No disasters! Hallelujah! There was even a typed label that outlined all the contents in the box. I also loved the outside of the box. Each panel displayed the companies name, website, social media handles, and I loved the colorful bowl and spoon. It was just a joy to look at and open. I view everything as an experience. I got excited!!!

What to try first? I started with Splendid Spoon's Recovery Shot! Splendid Spoon describes it as "an invigorating juice blend formulated to enhance exercise recovery, promote performance, & alleviate muscle soreness." It's also blood-sugar friendly. It contains a lot of different kind of juices! Watermelon Juice (helps relieve muscle soreness), cherry juice (keeps muscles in fighting condition), beets (improves blood flow and reduces inflammation) and a host of other juices. I've been exercising! I've been on my bike and walking on the treadmill. I'm not going to lie. I often feel depleted upon finishing. I tried a Recovery Shot after working out and I felt a difference (something water wasn't doing). This is not watered down Watermelon juice. This has a KICK! You can taste the ginger, beets, lemon! It's an excellent pick me up! Splendid Spoon also has DIGESTION, DETOX and WELLNESS SHOTS! Shots are also offered in BUNDLES.

My mom, boyfriend and I got together and had a Splendid Spoon lunch. I wanted to hear their opinions on the different food I received. They started with the Recovery Shot and loved it. My boyfriend even said, they should make them BIGGER. He really enjoyed the Recovery Shot. To test the soups (Green Tomatillo Chili Soup), noodle (Vegan Meatballs and Marinara Noodles) and grain bowls (Kimchi Fried Quinoa Grain Bowl) I received, I prepared a salad to compliment them. Preparation was super-easy. You just keep these in the freezer. I let them defrost for several hours. Plop them in a bowl and either heat them 2-4 minutes in the microwave or heat them in a pot (add a little water). You're literally heating and eating. We all thought everything was so FRESH! They tasted delicious and were enjoyable to eat. Each bowl is 2 servings. TWO! We could only eat 1/2 of what was in our bowl. We were all full. So portion wise, you could eat 1 serving for lunch and save the other serving for dinner or the weekend (just freeze that portion). Our favorites were the Meatballs and Marinara Noodles and Kimchi Fried Quinoa Grain Bowl. Nutritional Facts are available on their website. There are 32 Soup & Grain Bowl options. There are 8 Noodle Bowl options. There are 7 Light Soup options. What's nice is YOU get to choose what you want when putting your box together.

And lastly, SMOOTHIES! Splendid Spoon offers 16 options in Smoothies. These are 16 fl oz and contain 2 servings. My favorites were the POWER GREENS and RASPBERRY CACAO SMOOTHIE! With Power Greens, what an AWESOME way to get your vegetables. It contains Kale (loaded with antioxidants and Vitamin C), Banana (packed with potassium to regulate blood sugar), Spirulina (jumpstarts endurance) and other great things. The Raspberry Cacao Smoothie has Raspberry (packs a punch of essential vitamins and minerals), Cacao (improves blood flow to your brain - boy do I need that HaHaHa), Coconut (clears skin and keeps hair shiny) and more great things. I don't always have time to juice, so this is a great way to drink healthy. So you guys, those are my thoughts about Splendid Spoon! I hope my review helps you in your shopping experience.
