KKW x Kylie Cosmetics Lip Set Collection Review, Swatches, Demo and Video

Not Sponsored: Many years ago, Pottery Barn came out with a bedding collection that was a lovely mix of red and brown. A couple of years ago, Chanel makeup came out with a beautiful winter collection that was made up of reds & browns. I never thought red & brown would work together, but they really do look good. When I first eyed this KKW x Kylie Lip Set ($42) on social media, the brownish-reds and bronze shades really caught my eye. I immediately thought of cocoa, Christmas and winter. I thought, what a great collection for the winter months. I knew I wanted to purchase this set. You receive four lip products in this set: a gloss, a velvet and two mattes. The product is housed in a frosted tube. Each has a doe foot applicator (except for the gloss, which has a brush) and the cap is a super dark brown (almost black cap). The name for each is on the bottom. Main Bae is a bronzed copper gloss. I love bronze-y colors. I use my NYX Wrath Wicked Lipstick all the time, but I don't have a bronze gloss in my makeup collection. This is a darker bronze color. It reminds me of a sparkling chocolate. Over the past couple of years, I've been drawn to rose & mauve shades. Never thought that would happen. But they're pretty. I really love the velvet formula of Twinning. It's considered a Rosy Terracotta. It looks really good on the lips. The last two, which are mattes, are Double Trouble (Red Chestnut) and Soul Sister (Brick Red). Most DARK SHADES compliment me and I am loving these two (on me). These both dry down matte. Wasn't sure how that was going to work out, but they feel really good on the lips. Where the gloss & velvet formulas will move on the lips, the matte formula stays put. With Double Trouble and Soul Sister you have to take your time and apply them! Once they dry down, they STAY PUT! LOL So you have to be careful with application, especially staying inside your lip line. Many people expressed interest in this collection. It's still available. I think Kylie missed the mark by not making this a full collection. I would've definitely purchased an eyeshadow palette and blush. It would've been so complimentary to this lip set. This was part 2 of a collaboration with her sister Kim Kardashian. I didn't buy much from Kylie this year. Only some lipsticks when Kylie collaborated with her BFF Jordyn. One more thing, THESE ARE SCENTED LIKE CANDY & FROSTING! They smell delicious. If you would like to see these in action, stop by & watch my video. Overall, they did a great job with this set. They hit the mark with these colors.
