Shea Shea Bakery Cake Batter Lip Scrub Review

Not Sponsored: Today is part two of my series on Shea Shea Bakery. I reviewed their banana pudding and sugar cookie candle yesterday. I ordered one of their lip scrubs. There are several flavors to choose from (bubblegum, spearmint, lemon and cake batter) on their website. They're only $3 and you receive .25oz (they are small)... but again they're only $3. I ordered cake batter. It came in a really nice jar. Cute label with the companies logo, name of the lip scrub, ingredients and directions. The lip scrub smelled really good. Its ivory in color and has blue, pink & orange candy-colored sprinkles mixed within. The lip scrub was moist. I've tried many lip scrubs. With lip scrubs, you always want one with excellent consistency. You want the lip scrub to exfoliate your lips and also provide moisture to your lips. It's a fine balance. I first tasted the lip scrub. It tastes just like cake batter. It's also sweet. It had a nice taste. When I applied this lip scrub to my lips, it was a little pasty (like the granules were weighted down with possibly too much flavoring oil). I was kind of shocked about this because it wasn't oily. The scrub exfoliated my lips, I initially felt some moisture but my lips didn't feel totally moisturized after using this scrub. The whole experience was just ok. I always ask myself after trying a product, would I purchase it again. For me, no. Although its very inexpensive and looks cute, it just doesn't get the job done for me. I prefer Sara Happ, Half Caked's Suga Suga, LUSH and Good Earth Beauty.
