Tarte Cosmetics Stunner & Sparkler Highlighters Review and Swatches

Happy Saturday! Two more highlighter reviews (this weekend) you guys! I purchased stunner (opalescent) and sparkler (rose gold) by Tarte Cosmetics, because I loved their exposed highlighter which is an antique gold. Stunner and Sparkler are beautiful swatched, but there's definitely something you should know. Stunner is SUPER, FROSTY THE SNOWMAN! ICE ICE BABY! I can only see myself wearing this in the winter as a blush topper and maybe a little down the nose. It will look better on lighter skin tones. Sparkler is a rose gold. You may remember Becca's Rose Gold on me! I'm finding that rose gold has a tendency to blend into my skin tone. The Sparkler shade below has a bit of glimmer n' shimmer, so that is the only reason why it stands out on my skin. I'll have to pair it with some blushes, that I have in my collection. I give these a bittersweet rating, because they're limited to the type of skin tone you have...but I also feel you can do better with color choices from other brands in these shades. Highlighters can really be tricky! One does not fit all. One more highlighter review tomorrow. You can see all the highlighters and illuminators in my collection by clicking on the link.

  1. Great post babe...and I love Tarte products...xx, NEHA

  2. Ooooh these look so pretty! I love both shades! That's too bad that they are limited on which skin tones can wear them though! I love the way stunner looks!

  3. Tarte is so hard to get hold of in the UK and I'm dying to try their blushers. These look really nice and pigmented - I especially love the look of sparkler

  4. Great, honest review. I am sure there are tones out there that these look amazing on. These have quite a shimmer!

  5. "Ice ice baby"....LOLZ. You kill me with these reviews sometimes, Kim:D Your reviews never fail to entertain! Hehe...anyhoo, thanks for the reviews as always. Always refreshing to see honest reviews by you, my friend.
    Have a lovely weekend!

  6. These highlighters look beautiful, I love Tarte and think their products are always of avery high quality.

    Thanks for sharing!

  7. As a form of layering over more colourful blushes, these highlighters look lovely! Ahh, your blog always makes me want to buy one million and one 'sparkly' things haha ;)

  8. Wow - I never realised how hard highlighters could be to find until you started these reviews, Kim! I've been very lucky with highlighters so far, but I haven't had many over the years. It's obvious there is a much wider variety of products out there than there used to be, which of course means that there are more products that may not work for everyone. I've heard lots of good things about Tarte but never much about their highlighters, so I think I'll give them a pass for now.

  9. Such a shame it's a bittersweet product. We can't get Tarte easily in Britain, so never tried their products...

  10. I remember how much you loved the Tarte Exposed Highlighter Kim! These both look lovely as well. It's so true that highlighters can be quite specific to one's skintone and also the amount of sparkle everyone is comfortable may vary as well.

  11. They look like they'd be beautiful on other skintones though, no? i've never tried a highlighter from Tarte before!

  12. Too bad it didn't work out for you! These look so pretty in the pan though x

  13. I have Stunner and it's def not as white on me. However, once I am tan it may end up looking the same way. Sorry these didnt work for you!

  14. Sorry to hear these shades did not work well... and honestly just having it for the tip of your nose is a waste of product !
