The Catch Seafood Restaurant

Not Sponsored: Hey Everybody! Let me tell you how The Catch Seafood Restaurant caught my eye. I had just finished writing a review on Carmo: A Tropical Cafe & Bar, when I went to Yelp to verify some information. A number of restaurants that begin with the letter C were listed and The Catch Seafood Restaurant was one of them. When I looked at their profile picture, I said wow their seafood looks really good. So I clicked on their profile and literally every dish (that people posted on Yelp) looked absolutely delicious. From that point, I knew I had to pay them a visit.

The Catch Seafood Restaurant is family and locally owned. It's nestled between a few other stores off of Cleary Avenue in Metairie, Louisiana. What's great about this restaurant's location is that it sits back, so there is some privacy. It's truly a hidden gem and seafood treasure trove. I love the warm feeling you receive when you enter the restaurant. I was immediately acknowledged. They followed all covid-19 requirements. You could only sit at tables that had flowers on them (social distancing) and you had to wear a mask. The staff followed the same protocol. I loved the messages on display throughout the restaurant. There was a sign that said, relax ... refresh ... renew. There was another sign that said, live ... love ... lake. Various anchors, seashells, pelicans (the state bird of Louisiana) and such were scattered throughout the restaurant. As you exit, there was a catch ya later sign. It all fit in with the type of restaurant it is, which is seafood. You truly feel at home when you're there. Its very comfy & cozy! Now, let me tell you about the food!

I'll start with the menu! There are so many delicious things to choose from under each category: Appetizers, Soups, Salads, Poboys & Sandwiches, Fried Platters, Entrees, Sides, Wines, Beverages, Bottled Beer, Canned Sodas and Dessert. It was really hard to choose. You will want everything. Instead of stuffing yourself, plan on visiting this restaurant more than once. You will be back. Also, it's listed on Uber Eats! I've already listed it as one of my favorites.

For an appetizer, I ordered their Seafood Gumbo. Just as the description states, it has a dark roux, shrimp, jumbo lump crab meat, crawfish tails and a scoop of rice. You can choose your "heat" (how spicy) from none to really spicy. I chose none, because I'm not a big spice girl (no pun intended - loved the Spice Girls). You can also add extra seafood (another helping), for which I did. You guys, their seafood gumbo is so good. The seafood was super fresh, the roux was delicious and with the extra seafood ... it's a meal. I was so full after eating mine, I didn't know where (my stomach) I was going to put the entree I ordered. Compliments to the chef! I love your gumbo!

For my entree, I ordered their Seafood Pasta Nantua and a caesar salad. The pasta contains jumbo crab meat, shrimp, crawfish tails, and angel hair pasta in a rich creamy sauce. It was heavenly! Again the seafood was fresh and the pasta & sauce was flavorful. The difference between this pasta and other seafood pastas I've had at other restaurants is I found this to be so hearty. You're usually given more pasta than seafood. You're often "fishing" for a shrimp or crawfish! Not here! With every bite there's seafood, which makes it even more delicious. I could only eat a couple of bites. I ended up taking the majority home with me. Let me tell you how much pasta I had left. My mom had two servings and so did I. If there's one thing about The Catch Seafood Restaurant, they give you generous portions of food.

Below is their Blacked Redfish Filet. It's a blackened filet topped with a creamy lemon butter sauce. It came with a side salad and side of your choice (onion strings). I placed an order to-go for my mom. I was so impressed with their gumbo, that I ordered a bowl for her. I also got her a Shrimp Po Boy sandwich. I forgot to take a picture, but it was so delicious! A Po Boy sandwich is really good when both the bread and the seafood is good. The bread they used truly tasted like homemade and the shrimp was perfectly seasoned.

I can't speak highly enough of The Catch Seafood Restaurant. Stop in for some really good food. Bring a friend. Bring your family. Don't be in a rush. Don't have other appointments. They take time and really prepare your food well. Enjoy and savor each bite. I'll definitely be stopping in again and like I mentioned above, I have favorited them on UberEats.

Keep up the great work The Catch!
