Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Mousse Review

Not Sponsored: If you've been reading my blog for sometime, you will know that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Clinique's Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm. It's #1 on my skincare favorites list. So I was very excited to hear that Clinique came out with a Take The Day Off Facial Cleansing Mousse (Bloomingdales, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Sephora, Harrods, Selfridges, Kohl's, Target, QVC). Clinique says, " [this] Silky mousse cleanser removes makeup, sunscreen, oil, and other impurities for clean, refreshed skin." Sounds really good! Clinique also says its free of animal derived ingredients, drying alcohol, fragrance, gluten, oil, SLS, SLES, Parabens and Pthalates. Even better! Clinique says you can use this morning and/or night. It's also for Very dry to Oily skin types. You lather this stuff between your palms with warm water and gently massage it all over your face.

Now, let me share my thoughts. This cleansing mousse is really thick when it comes out the tube. YOU WILL NEED WARM WATER to get it going. Once you do, applying it to your face is a breeze. I really enjoyed slathering it on my face. I worked it in. It felt good. I removed the cleanser with a wet, warm washcloth. My face looked clean. It felt clean. I said Hmmm...Nice! But...but...but. After the moisture goes away, I was left with CLEAN...VERY CLEAN...SQUEAKY DRY SKIN. Not too tight, but a little tight. For everyone's information, I have DRY, SENSITIVE and REACTIVE SKIN. I DID NOT experience any redness or irritation, but my skin felt dry. So I will discontinue using this cleansing mousse. If you have dry or sensitive skin, I don't recommend this product. If you have normal skin, do a small test first. Oily skin types should not have a problem with this product. It's a great cleanser but just too much for dry skin types. The cleansing balm is much better and better at removing makeup. This is my experience, so I hope it helps you in making a decision whether or not to purchase this product.
