Tarte Tarteist PRO Glow Highlight & Contour Palette Review & Swatches

I purchased Tarte's Tarteist PRO Glow Highlight & Contour Palette over the Christmas holidays from ULTA. I've had a chance to play with it a bit and wanted to share my thoughts. I LOVE IT! The GLOW trend has been going strong for several years now and it doesn't look like it's slowing down. This palette gives you FOUR HIGLIGHT shades: lit (champagne highlight), strobe (pearl highlight), fire (bronze highlight) and stunner (opalescent highlight). So you have a lot of highlight options! Then Tarte gives you both a CREAM & POWDER CONTOUR. Shade is the cream contour. Sculpt is the powder contour. Shade looks very intimidating in the palette (it looks so dark), but as you can see from the swatch on my hand, it's very close in color to Sculpt. I used Sculpt to contour my face below. I lightly contoured my nose, forehead and around the perimeter of my face. I used a beautyblender to blend it out around my nose. I used a brush to blend it out around my forehead and other parts of my face. In the first two pictures, I used Lit on my nose, forehead, under my eyebrows and cupids bow.  I used strobe on my cheeks. In the second set of pictures, I used fire on my nose, forehead, under my eyebrows and cupids bow. I used stunner on my cheeks and under my eyes. The key to all of this is applying & blending things out. Where do you want THE GLOW to go!?! HaHaHa It truly gives you a HEALTHY LOOKING glow! The packaging for this palette is square. It has that NARS packaging feel. It's beautiful when its NEW, but expect smudges on the cover & everywhere. There are two mirrors on each side as you open it. They're not that functional, because you can only see sections of your face at a time (even if you turn it horizontally). But they did make use of space. It also seems perfect to travel with. I loved my Tarte x Makeup By Shayla Contour Palette! This gives me another option. Tarte has come out with a truckload of new products! Even stuff for when you work out! This girl is not fallin for the HYPE this year! LOL I threw away too many Rainforest of the Sea products last year. OH! There is a smaller Tarteist Pro Glow To Go Highlight & Contour Palette, but the shades are a little different. On my lips I'm wearing Too Faced Melted Chocolate in Metallic Chocolate Diamonds.

  1. Oh what a lovely set Kim! I've been loving Tarte ever since I won one of your blog giveaways! We went into Sephora just the other day and I laughed as I recognised so many brands - because of your blog! My plan is to go back when it's less busy and have them help me pick out another of the Tarte blushes after toddler T got rid of my favourite one by dropping it in the toilet, oops!

Thanks so so much for your sweet comment on my blog! I've enjoyed getting to know you through your blog too, you are the nicest person and I'm so happy with how your blog has grown - you're someone I greatly admire and I'm so appreciative of our blog friendship!

Hope you are having a wonderful start to the year and the first week of 2017 is going well!

  5. I love the look of highlighters but never quite know how to go about using them, so I tend to shy away. I have a similar palette and seeing how beautiful these shades are on you, I think I need to open it up (and get searching YouTube for some advise on how to use them properly!) Great review, Kim :)

  6. Tarte has been launching way too many products and it turned me off just like Urban Decay. I can't keep up anymore so I just ignore. This palette is beautiful but the only reason why I didn't pick it up is the fact cream and powder products are together and they get messy over time. :-(

  7. The palette sounds amazing. I've never used cream contour in my life but I wonder if I should give it a shot. I feel like I could get the hang of it!

  10. This is a very pretty contour/highlight palette. I'm glad you are happy with it! I tried the whole contouring thing and just have gotten so lazy over the years lol.

  11. I really need to take highlighting and contouring lessons from you Kim. I'm especially rubbish at the whole contour thing. Maybe I need a palette like this to motivate me to learn how to do it properly! You did a great job with it. Your glow looks so healthy, natural and lit from within :)

  13. All of these highlights are gorgeous and look beautiful on you! I've tried highlighters that have that rose gold look that didn't work for me at all, but telling by the swatch of that rosier shade on you, I think it would work well for me. I hate when I buy a quad and can't use all the colors, lol. I'll have to swatch this the next time I'm at Sephora! Thanks so much for sharing, beautiful!

  16. As a person who used to be intimidated by contouring and highlighting, I have become quite a fan as of late. I've not used this palette but it seems to be a pretty lovely one judging by your review overall. Wishing you a Happy New Year!

  17. I almost picked this up recently, but I'm not hugely into highlighters like everyone else seems to be. LOL! But I do love me a good healthy glow...so this sounds like a great palette. Looking lovely as always, Kim!

  20. Super sweet !??? Wow - this must really be an amazing product. I have read about Tarte but have yet to purchase any of their products. They're not sold here and I feel I already have too many stuff in my make up drawer...
