Nutrafol Women's Balance Hair Growth Vitamins Review

Not Sponsored: When it comes to hair growth issues, Nutrafol is usually the brand name that comes up in conversation. It's synonymous with the topic. I believe at one point, you could only get it from a doctor. Then it became available through a subscription. When I jumped on the bandwagon, was when it became available through Sephora.

Why did I want to try Nutrafol? I used a shampoo years ago that dried out my hair (and I already have really dry hair). A relaxer was placed atop it and a lot of my hair came out. My scalp was damaged and it was a mess of a situation. I still don't have long or shoulder length hair, despite my best efforts. I'm happy to say, a tea tree shampoo helped heal my scalp. I have found two really good shampoos and conditioners that help moisturize my hair (read here and here). But I felt I needed something else to help my hair grow.

So that brings me to trying hair supplements. I have tried Sugarbear hair vitamins with no luck. I have tried HUM Hair Sweet Hair vitamins with a little better luck. The best Biotin supplements I've tried have been Neocell Biotin Bursts. They really helped fill in my hair. Another really good Biotin supplement I've tried is GNC's Ultra NourishHair (which I will review this week). I used Ultra NourishHair long before having this hair catastrophe. HaHaHa The supplements kept my hair strong. My hair didn't break. They also made my hair feel super-soft. Excellent hair vitamins. But I've been on my head to try Nutrafol. It's suppose to be the best.

Nutrafol offers hair growth vitamins for both men and women. When you click on women, they offer four types of hair growth vitamins: Women (ages 18-44), Women's Vegan (18-44), Women's Balance (Women 45+) and Postpartum (Women in the first year post childbirth). The first bottle I purchased was the Nutrafol Women's Balance (for women ages 45+), because I am 51. I don't look it, but trust me I am. It's formulated and optimized for hormonal changes, such as menopause. You're given a month's supply of pills (30 days). You take 4 pills at a time, in a day, with a meal. The shelf-life for these pills is 2 years (24 mos). In order to see a difference, they ask you to use the pills at least 6 mos.

My results (no pictures, but you can trust me). I purchased one bottle of this and used it for one month. I saw a difference at the very end of using these vitamins. The hairs along my edges started growing and sparse areas began filling in. My hair felt stronger. I saw hair filling in ... NOT long in length ... but just growing from the scalp and filling in. On Nutrafol's website, the benefits are listed as follows: visibly thicker hair volume, fuller scalp coverage, and softer, shinier, strong health growth. I experienced all of this, EXCEPT the softer and shinier part. Another thing that I want to mention, is that the pills are big. You need a full glass of water to get them down. I have never had a problem, swallowing a pill of any kind until these. They are really hard to swallow. Nutrafol Women's Balance works well, but if you look at my pictures from Neocell Biotin Bursts (linked above 3rd paragraph) (and this is not a plug for them, I'm just letting you know what I've tried .... what works and doesn't), those biotin supplements filled in my hair and they're much cheaper! So Nutrafol Women's Balance, WORKS ... but don't expect to see a lot in the first month. You will really need to take them for about 3-6 months to see a difference. Personally, I don't think I'm going that route. I'm going back to the Neocell Biotin Bursts and GNC Ultra NourishHair. It just comes down to money and what I feel are better results with those two brands.

I tried one bottle of Nutrafol Women's Balance and then I tried one bottle of Nutrafol's Women formula. So read that review next!

Nutrafol Women's Balance Hair Grown Vitamins are Sweet (but don't expect huge results with one bottle; you must use it 3-6 months; try cheaper versions before investing)
