So what's NEW? Kylie now ships her lipsticks in black & white boxes with the dripping lipstick motif and her name. It includes a card with her signature lips, grill and a note on the back thanking everyone for buying her lip kits. Kylie stated the formula was NEW, which made me give her the side eye. You just launched 3 lipsticks and you're already changing the formula? I don't get that. I personally can't detect anything new she's done with these in comparison with the other three I tried. They feel the same to my lips. They still have that great frosted cupcake scent. Kylie never elaborated, so I can't tell you. Below are my thoughts on the colors and how they applied.
Mary Jo KI feel I wear reds pretty well. So I'm not surprised that this was my favorite out of the three. Mary Jo K is described as a true blue red. This comes off as a cherry red on me. I love that it's not messy. You KNOW how red lipstick can get! All over the place! It applies really well. Dries fast and it doesn't transfer. It stays in place! It's no fuss! So if you need a red lip and don't want to worry about it all day, this is the one for you. I had nothing like that in my collection.
Posie KNext is Posie K which is described as a dusty, mauve pink. I'm just now understanding what colors work for me (as it relates to beauty). I use to run from this kind of color before (I felt mauve meant OLD LOL), but I feel it compliments me. I'm also realizing pinks with purple tones compliment me more than just pink ones. Again, it applied well. All of her liquid lipsticks are mousse-y. Liquid lipsticks in general can be drying, but hers are not like the Sahara desert (but you will have to prep and moisturize your lips).
Koko KSo Koko K is named after Khloe Kardashian. I have to give it to Khloe! She's looking amazing and has transformed this year. She didn't know what to do with herself when the Kardashians first came out. She darkened her hair (trying to be like her sisters), which did nothing for her. Since she's been doing her own thing, she's lost weight...she looks much better as a blonde and her makeup & clothing is on point. Getting to this lipstick (LOL) I didn't expect it to do much for me. KoKo K is described as a pale, pinky nude. I don't usually do good with those, but I decided to throw caution to the wind and try it. LOL It was pretty decent! The coverage was great. It's usually not with pale lipsticks and it worked better with my coloring than I thought it would.
So overall, I was very pleased with her Valentine collection. I'll review 22 when I receive it in the mail. I just want to note, to be very light handed when using her lip pencils. The tip can break so easily. In my last review I mentioned they don't twist up and many of you asked if they can be sharpened. You can sharpen it, but there's not much tip to work with. But I'm not a big lip liner girl. Also, she relaunched SOME of the older shades when she came out with 22, but Mary Jo and True Brown K were not included. So I don't know where Kylie is going with this...I can't tell right now if some of the colors in the future maybe Limited Edition or not...All I can suggest is get what colors you want. Anything goes with this family! LOL
