Lipstick Queen Frog Prince Collection Review & Swatches

The goal of Lipstick Queen's Frog Prince Collection is to find YOUR PERFECT PINK! The formula "reacts" with your body chemistry to produce the perfect shade of pink for YOU. My perfect pink? Yes, please! Because I have purchased many WRONG ones! HaHaHa Lipstick Queen actually came out with the Frog Prince lipstick over a year ago. I wanted it, but I was like nah...it's too gimmicky! Well this year, Lipstick Queen added a lip gloss & blush to the collection. I raised an eyebrow! I was seriously doubtful, BUT curiosity got the best of me and so I purchased the entire collection the beginning of Summer from ULTA. I'm always doubting Lipstick Queen, but I have no reason to! I've loved everything I've purchased from the brand. I Love Let Them Eat Cake! I Love Have Paris! So would this collection be prince charming, a frog or a toad with warts? Let's find out!

Lipstick Queen Frog Prince Lipstick

When I was a little girl, I remember MOOD lipsticks & rings! The lipsticks would change to some form of pink or red, depending on your body chemistry. They were green just like this lipstick! When I first swatched this lipstick, a few choice words came out of my mouth and my blood began to boil. HaHaHa But it was at the point of my blood boiling that the lipstick began to get darker. I was like oooh, we have something here. It turned a pretty mauve-y purplish pink. It's funny, because I'm just finding out this year that purple & brownish pinks look good on me. I wish this would've come out when I first started blogging! This lipstick is so creamy & moisturizing! It feels awesome on the lips. It's like gloss without the stick or tackiness. I also love the outer packaging! There's a beautiful Frog Prince scene on the package.

Lipstick Queen Frog Prince Lip Gloss

Now the lip gloss! It comes out the tube GREEN! It applies GREEN! When I swatched it on my hand it had problems. I was like, when is this sh@t going to turn! LOL I could see it turning light pink, but then it just stopped. I'm like WTF!?! So I applied it to my lips! It was GREEN! But after a minute or two, the PINK STARTED POPPIN through! Again, it turned a lovely berry, purplish pinkish shade on me! So from what I can tell, the lip gloss gives you more BOLD color than the lipstick! But honestly I love both. I've never tried a Lipstick Queen lip gloss before. It's very nice. When you initially apply it, the lip gloss has some stick to it, but as it works into your lips that goes away. It covers and spreads well on the lips. And the color pay-off is fabulous. Just look at my lips! LOL I love the packaging for this lip gloss! How chic is the tube the lip gloss is in? Can you imagine taking it out of your purse, applying it to your lips, while out with your friends? It sparkles, but the lip gloss is pure color (no sparkle or glitter) Another beautiful Frog Prince scene can be found on the outer package.

Lipstick Queen Frog Prince Cream Blush

The last thing in the collection is a cream blush. Now with this, you don't have to wait. As soon as my finger touched the blush, it turned a bright pink. I was hoping that would NOT be the color on my cheeks! LOL On the back of my hand, not so much color! LOL So when I applied it to my cheeks, it gave me a beautiful just kissed, blush glow. I highly recommend the blush, because it compliments both the lipstick & lip gloss. The blush is tiny, but you don't need much. I applied it with my fingers in small circular motions.

Lipstick Queen Frog Prince Collection is Supersweet

I'm very surprised & pleased with this collection! I really wasn't expecting much.  I purchased it for the packaging and for some kicks & giggles! Glad curiosity got the best of me! Definitely a 'Happily Ever After' ending ;) Lipstick Queen continues to impress me!

  1. I want to get my hands on the Lipstick Queen Frog Prince collection, yet, as you stated, it is hardly a new concept. The mood lipsticks etc, they were all super cheap. Now another higher end brand is marketing it, suddenly it is fresh and expensive! ugh

  4. I remember lipsticks like this from when I was a little girl - they seemed so fascinating back then but I admit I find them a bit gimmicky now. Still, all of the shades that they turned on you do suit you really well!

  5. I am curious about lipstick queen products. It is green and it changes colour with the body chemistry, I wonder how it really works. I don't think it is heat related otherwise think that when it is cold outside your cheeks&lips would turn green ha ha (silly thoughts). Having your perfect pink colour must be cool, I should check them out :D

  12. Wow what a fascinating collection! The greens turned into lovely pinks on you Kim, I wonder how it does it?! It's worth buying for sure, you got some great colours out of it. My sister has colour changing nail polish, and I've worn it a few times, but I'd never heard of colour changing makeup before.

  14. Wow, this is so crazy and I would never think the colors could turn from green to really pretty shades! I can see why you were mad at first haha. I love the shades, especially the gloss. I've never heard of this brand and while I don't know if I'd buy it, I could see it being a really fun gift. Love the packaging too!

  15. Now I want this entire collection, haha! I remember MOOD rings too as a kid and I used to get so pissed that they'd never really reflect my actual mood. I've been seeing MOOD inspired makeup products begin to pop up and I'm just loving the whole 90s comeback! I love the packaging as well and the colors they change to are all really pretty. Thanks so much for sharing, beauty, I'll have to keep my eye out for these the next time I'm at ULTA. I hope you have a great weekend ahead!

  21. Hi Kim, this product looks amazing. It's green but turns out pink. It's genius. You look great!

  22. They all look really good on you! I have seem some people that apply the lipstick and green still picks through a little bit. I would love to try it, I have way too many problems trying to find my right shade of pink, but I'm kind of scared it will turn out in a color I don't like, haha. Great review!

  28. I absolutely love the idea of this collection. I remember reading the fairytale and watching the movie when I was a child. The lipstick is amazing and I love that shade of pink it produced on you. That blush looks so scary to use. I would love to use that as a party trick and make some people super worried when I whip it out :-D. Love this blog post Kim.

  33. You always share a brand that i have no knowledge of - I love this!
The thought of wearing lipstick that is at first green is very appealing to me.
My brother's wife is actually doing her pHD in a particular frog preservation I think she might fancy this!
