LAFCO New York Daffodil Guest Room Candle, Sea & Dune Reparative Hand Cream and Nourishing Body Cream and Champagne Nourishing Body Cream Review

Sponsored: I was sent a selection of LAFCO New York home fragrance & body products to review. In my last review, I didn't particularly care for their Chamomile-Lavender scent. They kindly understood and wanted to give me an opportunity to try some of their other selections. After explaining, that I loved CLEAN/FRESH scents, they sent me an assortment of products in different scents to try from their collection. I want to thank them for this second opportunity, because I was curious about their other scents. Plus, their products are very high end and can be found in some of the best stores. I've had a chance to test each and below are my thoughts.

LAFCO New York Daffodil Guest Room Candle ($60) - Sweet

The first thing that will impress you about this candle is its casing. It's hand blown (very beautiful) and can be re-purposed when you finish the candle. It's also a clean burning candle. It's composed of clean burning soy based wax and has a 100% cotton non-chemically treated wick. This candle is hand poured and has a 90 hour burning time. The scent of the candle is very light. I really didn't know what to expect, because I've seen Daffodils, but I've never smelled them. In my experience Tulips don't give off much of a scent. Strawberry leaves are very "earthy". So when I started burning the candle, I didn't smell a lot. I burned it in my kitchen, and what this candle does is leaves the room smelling FRESH! It's like an AIR NEUTRALIZER! I fried chicken and prepared an entire meal, while this candle was burning and after I was finished ... I didn't smell any food odors. My kitchen just had a clean scent. I was very impressed. You don't get any black smoke from this candle. For such a large candle and only one wick it burns SLOWLY & EVENLY. Overall, this is a great candle if you want a room in your house to smell FRESH & CLEAN. It's very grown up & sophisticated.

FRAGRANCE: Fresh white floral: Rare, pure White Daffodil is the inspiration for this intensely fresh blend that intoxicates the senses with hints of delicate Water Lily, sheer Jasmine and aromatic green Violet Leaf. Earthy Oakmoss and velvet Musk evoke a subtle, sensual finish.

LAFCO New York Sea & Dune Reparative Hand Cream ($32)

and Nourishing Body Cream ($35) - Sweet

Do you love ALL the elements of the beach? I'm talking the sand, shells, grass, salty sea water and fresh air! Some kind of way, LAFCO has captured & bottled up ALL of these elements. The scent is very authentic. It's also very soft. Both the hand cream & body cream are lightweight. They absorb into the skin very quickly (at least with my dry skin). This is a great Spring & Summertime scent. Very fresh!

FRAGRANCE: Fresh, airy and natural; the scent of sea grass, sand, summer sky and the ocean.

LAFCO New York Champagne Nourishing Body Cream ($35) - Sweet

When you initially pour champagne, you get a little foam & bubbly. Well, that's what this scent is! It's that little fresh, sparkly, effervescent, tickle your nose scent! It's very uplifting, fresh & light.  I can see this body cream being used year round.

FRAGRANCE: Clean and sparkling; with notes of ginger, grapefruit, lemon, and raspberry.

  1. This line sounds perfect for spring and summer! I love that reusable candle holder, so pretty and I love that it's yellow, so cheerful and perfect for seasonal decor, too. I also love the sound of the creams, they indeed sound light and refreshing, once again, making it perfect for the season. Thanks for sharing, beautiful, and I hope you're having a great day so far!

  3. I'm glad to hear that these scents were better Kim! The candle looks super pretty and even better that that the holder can be repurposed after the candle burs out. I love using my old Diptyque jars for storage :) And there's nothing than beachy smells in the home during the warmer months when you can't or don't want to go to the beach.

  5. Oh it's so nice that they let you try more scents! Especially that candle! ALthough I like scented candles that fill up a room, this is so pretty I'd probably light it anyway, what a beautiful glass!

Hope you are having a lovely week Kim.

  8. I think I need that daffodil candle in my life, Kim! Being married to a chef, our home almost always has some kind of food odour, despite my best efforts to keep things smelling fresh - there are just so many things cooking at our place all the time! I'm definitely going to hunt this one down and hope it works as well for me as it did for you.

  11. How nice of them to send you another range to reconsider, and how much nicer that you ended up loving them. Personally I prefer fresh scents and I have a dedicated neutralizing candle that I burn after cooking fatty foods.

  14. That candle seems great! Lately I've taken to boiling lemons in water to get rid of the smell of cooking in my kitchen and it works...but this candle sounds even better. It is great that it burns evenly and slowly. It us even better that it neutralizes smells. Usually, I find the fragrance of candles a bit too much, but this one seems like something I could actually like. In my experience daffodils don't have much of a fragrance, that is why I like to pair them with other flowers when I make floral arrangements. So, if this candle is like that- I'm fine with that. The hand cream and the body cream both sound lovely.
