Colgate Total Advanced Health Mouthwash Review

Sponsored: I was asked if I would like to try Colgate's NEW Total Advanced Health Mouthwash. Sure, I said! I couldn't imagine what was so DIFFERENT about it! I've tried minty, whitening, antiseptic etc...YEAH, all kinds of mouthwash! Plus, I LOVE Colgate toothpaste! This mouthwash is separated into two parts (blue & green)! You SHAKE THE BOTTLE! You SWISH IT IN YOUR MOUTH! You SPIT IT OUT! Then you SEE THE BACTERIA (they will be blue in color) that was IN YOUR MOUTH ... IN YOUR SINK! This mouthwash removes 24X MORE BACTERIA than regular mouthwash! My mommy bloggers may attest to this, but aren't there "kid" toothpastes & mouthwash that change colors or something to see if kids are brushing thoroughly? I always thought that was cool and why didn't adults have those options. But anyway...

LET ME TELL YOU THE GOOD! Your mouth will feel SUPER MINTY FRESH & CLEAN! Your TEETH & GUMS WILL FEEL CLEAN! The more you use this, the LESS BACTERIA you will see at the bottom of your sink. This will also give you a very good indication if your toothbrush is doing a good job or not.

LET ME TELL YOU THE BAD! It doesn't say ANYWHERE in the description, but this mouthwash reminds me of OIL PULLING. Is everyone familiar? You take a spoonful of Coconut Oil. Put it in your mouth. Swish it around for as long as you can and then SPIT. I've never had a problem with Coconut Oil (some people do). I don't have a problem with this mouthwash when it's in my mouth. I swish it around and YOU CAN FEEL the product getting rid of gunk (that's great!). NEVER INGEST THIS! SPIT IT OUT! I DID!!! But despite my best efforts, some of the product did get ingested (remnants/after taste). I've used this several times, and each time I personally get an upset tummy for a couple of hours. I think it's the oiliness of the product! I could use another mouthwash, to counteract that but isn't that defeating the purpose? :( Also, when you spit ... expect the bottom of your sink to be OILY! YOU SEE THE OIL! YOU CAN FEEL THE OIL! I also don't like the cap! It's flimsy and doesn't close properly! The bottle gets oily! So despite the SUPER CLEAN & MINTY feeling my mouth gets from this product, I can't recommend it to my readers. An upset stomach, oily sink & oily bottle is a no-go for me! I'll stick to regular mouthwash and oil pulling. I can't go through all of this. If you want to read similar sentiments, check out the ratings & reviews on their website.

  1. Yikes! The concept sounds great, Kim, but yeah....the upset stomach if you ingest a bit of a bit means that's a no- go to the family. Thanks for the honest review as always:)
Have a good one, my dear!

  2. Oh it sounded so fun and promising as the start Kim! I hate anything that leaves a bad aftertaste so even if it didn't give me an upset stomach I don't think I'd like this!

Hope you are having a great week :)

  3. Yuck! This product sounds unpleasant. The concept is great though! With my sensitive stomach I am sure it would be an issue with me too.

  4. Wow. I tend not to deviate too much from mouthwash that I like, but I really never imagined that there was a mouthwash out there that would be so different - and have so many potentially negative side effects! What a shame, since it sounds like overall it works well :(

  5. I would like the super clean feeling, but not the oily sink or upset stomach! I thought it was bad to put oil down drains, but maybe that's just coconut oil? Does oil pulling work well for you Kim? I've tried it a few times but my mouth gets so tired of swishing lol!

  6. The concept of this product sounded so promising but your experience with it sounds less than ideal Kim. I mean who wants a mouthwash that leaves you with an upset stomach and a mess. Thank you for your honest review!

  10. That stinks that it gets so oily and leaves you with an upset stomach because otherwise, it seems promising and I love when you can see instant results like that. It does sound a lot like oil pulling, which I haven't done in a while and you've just reminded me, haha. Thanks for sharing your honest thoughts on this one, as always, I appreciate it! I hope you're having a great week so far, my friend!
