Colourpop Yes, Please & Fem Rosa Eyeshadow Palettes Review and Swatches

Hey Guys! I thought I would take this week to review some purchases I made over the Thanksgiving holidays. There were some really good sales! Throughout the year I add to a wish list of things I want, but don't necessarily want to pay full price. Anyone else do this? I remain very impressed with the Colourpop Sand Collection I purchased earlier this year, so I wanted to explore more from Colourpop.

Colourpop Yes, Please! Eye Shadow Palette ($16 was on sale for $12.80) - Sweet

The Yes, Please! eyeshadow palette has sold out so many times! I think it has sold out and has been restocked at least THREE TIMES! I lost count. I already have the Urban Decay Naked Heat palette, but I loved the yellows & oranges that were offered in this palette. Every shade is really pigmented. I will definitely be creating some looks with this palette next year. Especially for Spring & Summer.

First Row L-R: Full-Zip: matte warm ivory Big Cocktails: matte orange Champs: matte pale peachy nude Bling: metallic rust

Second Row L-R: Louie: metallic duochrome red with a gold flip Butter Cake: metallic pale yellow gold Spoiled: matte brick red Gno: matte burnt orange

Third Row L-R: Mischief: matte warm yellow Note to Self: matte warm caramel Chauffeur: metallic duochrome bright orange with a gold flip French Kiss: matte medium chocolate brown

Colourpop Fem Rosa Eyeshadow Palette ($16 was on sale for $12.80) - Bittersweet

Fem Rosa is another popular palette, that was created by Colourpop in collaboration with Karreuche Tran. I thought the colors were so pretty and different from what I have in my own collection. The first two rows swatch really good. The last row which contains mattes proved to be a little more difficult. They didn't seem as pigmented. I'll have to see how that row applies to the eyes. I'll keep you posted. This palette is limited edition but still offered on Colourpop's website. The "collection" says sold out, but if you click on it and then this palette ... it's still there.

If you have any of these palettes, I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

  1. I haven't tried much from ColourPop to be honest except eyeliner and lip products. I know many are huge fans of the brand though.

  2. I've only tried lip products from ColourPop and I've had mixed results. Some I love, some I love a lot less. It seems like their eyeshadows are similar, and, considering the very reasonable price point, I think that's to be expected and even, really, okay. The shades of both of these palettes look lovely and I feel like even if the second is imperfect, you'll get a lot of use from both.

  3. I'm totally with you on wanting to try certain things but not at full price Kim. I have not tried anything from Colorpop but I am excited that the brand is now at Sephora and I look forward to sampling their products in-store at some point. It's too bad that some of the shades in the Fem Rosa weren't that pigmented. The colors in that one are gorgeous!

  4. Both of these palettes are so pretty Kim! I’ve had my eye on the yes please palette!! That’s a shame about the mattes in the fem Rosa palette. I hope they apply to the eyes better!! Now I have my eye on the colourpop palette collab with Kathleen lights! It looks beautiful, but I’m sure it’s already been sold out lol!

  5. Oh both palettes are so pretty Kim, especially that second one. It's not good that the shades aren't as impressive as the first set though, what a let down!

Hope you are having a great start to the week and all your Christmas preparation is going well! I'm hoping to wrap some more presents today!

  7. I don't know why but I don't reach for either of these palettes. The Yes Please definitely is more for summer in my opinion. I def used it more back then. I love the rose colors in the Fem Rose but I don't feel like I can create a complete look without a matte brow shade! The newer palettes def have more color schemes that I would use on a regular basis.
