Makeup Revolution London Conceal & Define Full Coverage Concealer & Contour Review and Swatches

I kept hearing Makeup Revolution's NEW Conceal & Define Full Coverage Concealer and Contour ($7) was a dupe for Tarte's Shape Tape Concealer ($27). That's a HUGE cost savings! So, I found my shade (C10) and gave it a whirl. I loved the wand. It's short, so application is precise. The formula is super creamy. It laid well on the skin. It's a very nice consistency and covered areas evenly. As I finished applying this concealer, it changed on my DRY SKIN before I could even put setting powder on. It went from a creamy consistency to a powdery consistency.  It creased under my eyes. It settled in my fine lines and emphasized those lines. Not a good look. Not a good look. So I said to myself, I can't use this under my eyes. What about the rest of my face? You guys know that I recently had a bad breakout because of a product. Well this concealer emphasized those problems as well. So what I want you to know, is this concealer will emphasize problems! I also wouldn't recommend this for dry or mature skin. Dry skin need hydration, so I would love for Makeup Revolution to develop a hydrating concealer. I think this concealer would work better for Oily/Combination Skin Types. Some people have had luck with it. For $7 it's worth a try! As much as concealers cost nowadays, it's worth the try. This concealer is suppose to be long lasting. You're also suppose to be able to contour with it. This formula is just not compatible with my skin type. Have you heard anything about this concealer?

Tarte Shape Tape Hydrating & Matte Foundation in Medium Neutral Review and Swatches

I really wanted Tarte's NEW Shape Tape Foundation to work. I LOVE Tarte's Shape Tape Concealer in Medium. The concealer is so good, I use it as foundation sometimes. When Tarte stated they were coming out with a matching foundation, I just knew it was going to be a win-win situation. I purchased this foundation both in the MATTE and HYDRATING formulas and neither worked for me. First major problem was COLOR. I've tried Tarte's Colored Clay Foundcealer in Medium. It looked really good. I've tried their Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation in Medium Tan Honey. It looked good. I didn't have luck with their Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation in Medium Tan Sand. And I definitely didn't have any luck with the Tarte Empowered Hybrid Gel Foundation in Medium Neutral. Do you notice a pattern here? Every foundation I've tried from them, has been in a different shade. So when I went to purchase these, I started swatching using Medium Tan Honey, since I had success with it before. Well, it was too dark for me. I tried a couple of other shades (swatched) and all became too dark on me. So I settled on Medium Neutral. It looked good in the store, but as I tested this outside and started taking pictures my face & neck just didn't compliment one another. It made me look ashy, grey-ish and just dead. Not as dead as that Rimmel London foundation! LOL But this foundation did nothing to uplift me. I've been looking at other WOC apply this foundation and either they're looking ashy like me, orange or darker skin tones are looking too red. That's a problem! Tarte really needs to step back and put some proper research into their Medium to Darker skin tone selections. Secondly, I didn't like the formula. It settled into my fine lines. It looked powdery. It broke apart throughout the day. I'm just really shocked by all of this, because all Tarte had to do was bottle up the concealer and come out with an array of shades. Do you guys like the background picture I used for my pictures? The crayola crayons as photographed by photographer Adam Hillman (Glamour Magazine, April 2018). Do you get the message? LOL This should've been a walk in the park for Tarte. Look at my picture below and look at my NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation picture. Look at my FACE Atelier Ultra Skin Foundation picture. Look at my Too Faced Born This Way Foundation picture. My head & neck look the same. Not here! One of my blog buddies, Tanya of Leopard Lace and Cheesecake, also reviewed this foundation. Read her review and perspective. Notice from my hand swatches BOTH are medium neutral, but both look different. This is across the board. Some tips! Swatch this on your neck/chest. Let it dry down. Walk outside and take a picture to see how it looks. What comes out the bottle, is not how it will appear on your face. I don't think this formula is for mature women. The coverage to me seems more medium coverage. If you have dry skin, go with the hydrating formula. But I also found I needed to powder my face after application. A little too much shine on my nose, cheeks and forehead. I could've given this a Bittersweet rating, but there's just too much that's wrong. Back it goes!

Colgate® Optic White® Platinum™ Stain-Less White™ Toothpaste and Colgate® 360® Advanced Optic White® Manual Toothbrush Review

PR Sample: Colgate-Palmolive sent me full-size samples of both Colgate's NEW Optic White Platinum Stain-Less White Toothpaste (formulated with hydrogen peroxide for deep set stain removal) and their NEW Colgate 360 Advanced Optic White Manual Toothbrush for review purposes. THANK YOU COLGATE PALMOLIVE! I've been testing both for about two weeks now and below are my thoughts on each product. Let me know in my comment section if you've tried this toothpaste and/or toothbrush. If not, what are you using to keep your lovely SMILE pearly white!

Colgate Optic White Platinum Stain-Less White Toothpaste ($4.99-5.99) - Sweet
(formulated with hydrogen peroxide for deep set stain removal)
This toothpaste is a new addition to the Colgate Optic White Platinum family. Immediately what caught my eye, were the words STAIN-LESS and REMOVES DARK STAINS like coffee, wine and soda. We all want and strive for white teeth. Dentist can do the job, but what about in-between those dental visits (and our bad habits). It's either toothpaste, dental strips or trays! This toothpaste contains hydrogen peroxide for deep-set stain removal. It's enamel safe for daily use. It's gluten free. It also contains anti-cavity fluoride protection. It boasts that this toothpaste starts working in 3 days. I found that to be true. Each time I used this toothpaste, my teeth looked better and better. I loved the cool mint flavor. I never experienced any irritation or sensitivity. I felt this toothpaste was better than just regular toothpaste. It definitely felt more powerful but not irritating. Will this remove deep, set in stains? No. Only a professional can remove those, but it's great for in-between care. With daily use, you can see results with the visible eye. I did. I must admit, the first week I used this toothpaste with a new Colgate toothbrush I had just purchased and opened. That toothbrush has ONE spiral bristle and I thought it worked great. When I looked at it in comparison with the one they sent me below, there was a MAJOR DIFFERENCE! Let me talk about the toothbrush COLGATE-PALMOLIVE sent me!

Colgate 360 Advanced Optic White Manual Toothbrush $3.99 1-pack; $6.99 2-pack - Sweet
This toothbrush puts all toothbrushes to shame. It has FOUR spiral polishing bristles. Mine only had one! LOL These bristles help remove surface stains from teeth, for a naturally white smile. It has a cheek and tongue cleaner to remove bacteria from teeth, tongue, cheeks and gums. It also has an ergonomic handle (fit comfortably in your hand), finger grips (help the toothbrush stay in place, reduce slipping and for more precise maneuvering as you brush your teeth). So what I'm trying to tell you is a toothbrush is AS IMPORTANT as proper toothpaste. The toothbrush I used the first week was ok, but when I switched to the one they sent I saw even better results. These are sold individually, but it would also be great if Colgate sold them as a starter kit or packed together. They compliment one another. They're more effective together. Now I just wish Colgate would make a talking toothbrush. Wouldn't that be neat! Kim, brush a little longer. Kim, you need to brush this area better. Etc. Or even better, detect potential problems! Overall, I was impressed with my results. I highly recommend adding both of these into  your daily routine. Look for them at mass food and drugstores. Dr. Dennis Gross All In One Cleanser With Toner, C+ Collagen Brighten & Firm Vitamin C Serum, Ferulic + Retinol Anti-Aging Moisturizer and Ferulic + Retinol Eye Cream Review

I need YOUR HELP today! Let me know in the comments section what your skin type is and what your experience has been with RETINOL and/or FERULIC ACID. My skin (dry. sensitive) reacted horribly (see picture here) to this skincare which contains BOTH. My skin felt dry, flaky, irritated and I broke out really bad around my chin area. I didn't know anything about FERULIC ACID, but I found this article and it specifically says, "as long as you don't have extremely sensitive skin or an allergy to ferulic acid, it's a great ingredient for slowing the hands of time." WELP! Ferulic acid is not my friend. LMAO I didn't know that! I've never tried any Retinol products. I just recently purchased a kit by Murad that has some retinol products, but I have to wait until my face heals up from this to see if it was the ferulic + retinol or just the ferulic that was the problem. I SUPER LOVE Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Ultra Gentle Daily Peels. I will continue to buy them, because they are THAT GOOD! So I wanted to try his skincare. I went to his website and you can click on your skin problem (dry, oily etc) and it will suggest products. Under Dry Skin, there are several options (hyaluronic - which I probably should've chosen, C+ Collagen, and ferulic + retinol). The Ferulic + Retinol is not listed under Sensitive Skin options, but it is listed under Dry Skin options. I don't think it should be under either. Let me explain what I experienced below.

Dr. Dennis Gross All In One Cleanser With Toner
Honestly, Dr. Dennis Gross has only one main cleanser. There's a bar soap option, but I've never had great experiences with soap over a long period of time with dry skin. The other "cleanser" is more to remove makeup. This All In One Cleanser states its for all skin types. I knew I was in trouble when the directions said "massage into dry face. 10 seconds for DRY SKIN. 30 seconds for OILY SKIN". I've used a lot of cleansers in my lifetime, and I've never had to time any of them. Have you? To me, this just tells me this stuff is too strong, but the company is too lazy to make separate formulas. I don't want to have to time anything! I followed the 10 second rule. The cleanser felt good on my face, but after washing it off and patting dry, my skin felt dry. Not parched, but way too stripped. So if the cleanser doesn't work for me? Yeah. On the front of the box it says YOU HAVE: Dry or Sensitive Skin. YOU WANT: Clean, Makeup Free, Toned and Hydrated Skin. My skin was clean, makeup free and toned, but not hydrated. I think this would work better for Oily & Combination Skin Types.

Dr. Dennis Gross C+ Collagen Brighten & Firm Vitamin C Serum
So then I added the serum to my face.  It says on the front of the box. You Have: Dull Complexion, wrinkles, uneven tone and texture. You Want: Smooth and taut skin, radiant luminosity. I don't think this product was a problem for me. This brown honey (non-sticky) colored looking serum is packed with Vitamin C, Collagen Amino Acids and propietary energy complex. Its suppose to improve imperfections like dullness, dark spots, rough texture and expression lines. It's gotten great reviews. It's pressurized in the bottle, so everything is fresh. They do have a Sunburn Alert, because it contains AHA's (increase sensitivity). I've used a Vitamin A serum and loved it by Mad Hippie (it even had retinol in it, and I experienced no problems). I really liked Murad's Essential C Night Moisture (it had Vitamin A, C and E). This vitamin C Serum is along the consistency and in my estimate even more powerful than Drunk Elephant's C-Firma Day Serum. But it's not sticky like Drunk Elephant's C Firma Day Serum.

Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic + Retinol Anti-Aging Moisturizer
Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic + Retinol Eye Cream
Here's where things got bad! After the serum, I applied the moisturizer and eye cream. That's when my skin felt itchy, irritated and I started getting pilings. Then overnight my chin broke out really bad. I said, this is a reaction. So I stopped. I've only used this skincare one time. I returned it, because it's really expensive.

Final thoughts: I would go back and order the hyaluronic acid or C+ Collagen products but the cleanser doesn't work for me. If the cleanser doesn't work, why would I try the other products? I still love his peeling pads. I don't think these are bad products, but my dry/sensitive skin can't handle these. I also wouldn't recommend these for dry/sensitive types. Other skin types may love these! Therefore I'm not giving any of these a grade. I just wanted to share my experience and get some feedback from others (that's what I love about blogging). I will try the Murad retinol products, once my skin gets back in order. It's important for me to know if retinol is an overall problem for me or was it the ferulic acid?

After applying all FOUR products, I experienced PILING (just as you see on my hand, but on my face)
