It's A Book! It's A Purse! It's a...

Book Purse! The shop owners at Etsy never cease to amaze me with their talents. While perusing the website I came across a shop called Novel Creations, that sells book purses.

The owner Karen, works at a used bookstore and she recycles the covers of books (that would otherwise be thrown out) into purses. I never thought about books having a shelf-life. She's sold like 854 (according to her site)!

Have you guys seen these? What do you think? Like? Don't Like? After doing a search, it seems they've been around since 2007 (probably longer)! LOL

I thought this shop was cute. It's called The Write Stuff Design
I love the way she incorporates outfits and shoes in hers.
I'm whimsical to the max and think they're lovely, but I don't know if I could practically carry one. Could you?

  1. They are awesome! You couldn't carry much in them though. You'd have to have a back up purse or just be going out on the town.

  2. i've been a huge fan of book and magazine purses forever! i remember 10 years ago, i was looking on ebay for a magazine clutch.. and they were all so pricey. nowadays, it's much more affordable. the hello kitty one is so cute! i think i'd like a handle-less version better... so a clutch sort of thing... :)

hope you are well, and have a great day!

  24. This is so cute! I've never seen anything like it! Like you, I never thought that books would have a shelf life, but I know that the library here in my city has a day each year where they just give tons of books away! I guess it has to do with meeting the demand at the time when popular books come out.. and overtime they just have too many and need to reduce their collection. Sounds familiar.. like my makeup LOL

  29. I love the idea of the book purse, a vendor at our local farmer's market makes them with the gold gilded classic books and they are just so lovely and clever. I'm not sure I'd carry one because there's no closure at the top but I think they are so fun.

  42. Kim! I REALLY love these purses. But I do agree with you that they would be difficult to use practically. I think a nice long shoulder/cross body chain would be perfect instead of a top handle. The LC Alice's Adventure's in Wonderland would be my next purchase!Thank you so much for the comment. I need to stay in better contact with you. Do you ever get over extended when it comes to blogging? Happy to be visiting!
