Ooh La La Brands: S'mores Cocoa Review

I love hot cocoa. Especially for the holidays. I want it to be rich, chocolatey and smooth! I always look for those three things when it comes to hot chocolate. You may remember, I reviewed Ooh La La Brands (Candy) Pumpkin Pie Coffee around Thanksgiving. I though it was very good. Well, I also ordered their S'mores Cocoa, which I'll be reviewing today. For me, it's ok. I used 3 tablespoons in the teacup below and it still wasn't rich enough for me. I used 6-7 tablespoons in one coffee mug. Again, it wasn't rich enough. I didn't try this with milk, but water always seemed to overpower it. I only got 5 cups out of this package. The package is REALLY cute, but it's not filled with cocoa. It's just not a powerful hot chocolate. I should've tried it with milk but I don't think that would've made a big difference. Where it was lacking with cocoa, it wasn't with marshmallow. I could definitely taste marshmallow. Overall, it just seemed a little weak and artificial to me. So this gets a Bittersweet rating from me (see below). You can check out their other flavors HERE. I have another tea & coffee made by them, that I'll review in January and February. Are you a hot cocoa girl or guy? I love mine with marshmallows :)

  5. Aww, shame it didn't taste as chocolate as you wanted! I can't imagine having a hot chocolate that wasn't sweet and chocolatey enough, I don't think it would be very yummy.

Good you could taste the marshmallow though! :)

  8. I love thick , boiling hot, rich in taste and sugar cocoa, with some red pepper in it. It gives me fuel in the coldest days and warms my soul. I've never tried it with marshmallows, but I think it wouldn't do for me!
Maybe later I'll do myself a cuppa!!

  13. That is disappointing that it wasn't that chocolatey. I usually just buy the store brand hot chocolate and put some marshmallows in it!

  31. Just the other week I had to finally ask an American friend of mine what s'mores are! I really had no clue as we don't' have them over here. After she explained it, I just went "Yum!". The combination with hot chocolate sounds so good and so right in winter, but it has to be good quality hot chocolate with a bit of whipped cream on top ;-) xo

  33. What a pain that it wasn't rich and chocolatey enough. I'm absolutely starving and dying for hot chocolate now after seeing your beautiful photos though. My fav is Republica fair trade drinking chocolate from my supermarket. It's rich and decadent with two teaspoons in hot milk. Hope you can find one like that. I just hope one day I can take pics like yours! :D sparkle2day.com
