Tarte Colored Clay Foundcealer 2-in-1 Foundation & Concealer, Review, Swatches and Video

Foundation and concealer (together) in a tube? How convenient! One less step for me to do! Plus, I saw a before and after pic on instagram of a girl who had some major skin issues and her face looked flawless afterwards. So I purchased (not sponsored), Tarte's Colored Clay 2-in-1 Foundcealer Foundation and Concealer in MEDIUM. This foundation also comes with a double-ended brush (shown below). This particular foundation was easier to apply, than the 12 hr amazonian clay full coverage foundation (but it was a tad darker). The coverage was the same...FLAWLESS! This time I didn't use a moisturizer and only used the Tarte Clean Slate Poreless 12 Hour Perfecting Primer (less glow). This color (medium) worked for me, but I have a BUT! This can only be purchased on QVC! Say Whaaat? I checked Tarte's website and it 's not there...nor Sephora....nor Ulta etc. So that's a bummer! The second thing is, it only comes in SIX SHADES you guys! SIX SHADES! YOU KNOW it's not going to work out for everybody. And a third thing (snicker)! I applied the MEDIUM pressed powder (in the video) after applying the MEDIUM foundation and the powder is darker than the foundation. Both are MEDIUMS! They're suppose to blend together! It's fine if you want to use the pressed powder as a bronzer with this foundation...but to match up...they won't. That's it for me! Excellent formula Tarte, but HELLO, please add more shades and more options to buy. I still give you a Sweet rating, because it worked hella-good for me (but it won't for everybody).

  1. Oooh I've never heard of this before, probably cause they only sell it on QVC. It's kind of a bummer cause I know I would be more likely to buy it from Ulta or Sephora. That being said, it sounds like an awesome product! I have a tarte foundation in my daily rotation and I like it's coverage. This one sounds even better. Thanks for bringing it into my radar :)

  5. Oh that sounds like a great product Kim! just such a shame like you said that it's not easily available or available in many shades. I would love the ability to skip the concealer step in the morning - every minute counts, haha!

  9. I like that it's a 2 in 1 product, it's both a concealer and a foundation so it's one less product to use for lazy people like me. But it's strange that you can only buy it from QVC and not elsewhere. I wish makeup brands would release more shades, 6 shades is ridiculously little option. :-/

  10. Love the video! I always have trouble finding a match to my skin for foundation. Especially if the brand is known to not have a variety of colors. I think Benefit is definitely one that lacks variety.

  11. I absolutely love the foundation on your skin. It almost looks as if you don't have on anything. I will say, I always wonder if those 2 in 1 foundation and concealers work, and this post has answer that question. Beautiful Kim.

  13. Whoa! Kim you look flawless! I really want to try this, but I am so pale that most of the lighter shades still make me look orange. I have to use translucent powder, lol! I hope all is well with you! xoxoxoxox

  29. This sounds like a wonderful foundation if you can get a good color match. I wish it was available in a store, so I could go and get a color that matches exactly. Hopefully, they'll release it elsewhere soon!

  30. This looks so nice on you Kim! Too bad you can't get this at ulta or sephora too! And I like products that are two in one with foundations and concealers!

  32. Tarte has great packaging. Not sure if this is what it is, but it looks like a slice of petrified wood that I have. I LOVE fossils, minerals, and rocks in general so yeah. Me like. They should totally expand their shade range on this though.
