Mad Hippie Advanced Skin Care Creamy Cleanser + Vitamin A Serum Review and Swatches

Sponsored: I was contacted by a PR representative, the first week of December, and asked if I would like to try Mad Hippie advanced skin care products. I recognized the packaging from social media (instagram), but I knew little about the brand. They are a natural skin care product brand. They are cruelty free, GMO free and Vegan. The packaging they use is BPA free and can be recycled. Plus $1 of every web sale is donated to wildlife conservation. So as a company, I loved their philosophy. But how do their products perform? I told the representative I needed AT LEAST 3 weeks to try these products! This is skincare we're talking about! She said no problem and sent the products right away. I've been using these Mad Hippie products since the beginning of December and below are my thoughts...

Sweet-Bittersweet-NotSweet
supersweet(run & buy it) sweet(really good,buy it) bittersweet(ok, issues)not sweet(not good,don't buy this stuff)

Mad Hippie Creamy Cleanser ($15.99) - Supersweet

This is an AWESOME cleanser! It's creamy. It has a natural scent. It cleanses the skin thoroughly and washes away cleanly. You don't feel any residue left on your face. Usually when your skin is THAT CLEAN (squeaky clean), you expect some dryness or even redness. NOT with this cleanser! My skin never felt dry or irritated. It felt supple. My skin felt great! For anyone that doesn't know me, I have DRY/SENSITIVE SKIN. I definitely agree with the company, in that this cleanser would work for normal to dry skin types. I didn't experience any break-outs while using this cleanser and the two pimples that occurred AFTER I stopped using my favorite skincare for a month (but before starting Mad Hippie), quickly started healing. This is definitely a blemish buster, but without the irritation or drying out of other parts of your skin. I put this cleanser right up there with one of my absolute favorites REN Skincare. Since using Mad Hippie, my skin has felt clean, soft, supple, moisturized, plumper and calm. I highly recommend it. That says a lot coming from me, because my skin either loves something or hates it. This cleanser has 5 actives in it: jojoba, green tea, macadamia oil & orchid extract. It removes free radicals & impurities while moisturizing & healing. Any time you can see your pores (LOL) that is CLEAN!

Mad Hippie Vitamin A Serum ($32.99) - Supersweet

The next product that was sent to me was their Vitamin A Serum! I've tried serums that were nice, but never found one that I SUPER LOVE (until now)! A lot of serums that I tried, had a stickiness to them. I had really grown accustomed to thinking all serums were sticky! HaHaHa Well not this one! No stickiness here! This serum is light and quickly absorbs into the skin. I apply it in sections! My forehead. My cheeks. My chin. I applied and then rubbed it in. Usually I loathe droppers, because many do not work (they do not suck up the liquid in the bottle). But this one works beautifully! Plus it dispenses the product correctly! It dispenses drop by drop! You guys know not all droppers are equal! LOL This serum is truly a treat for the skin. It has 10 actives, with retinyl retinoate & coffee berry. Once you apply, you wait 10 minutes and then follow with a moisturizer. My face does seem plumper. Fine lines & dark areas do seem lighter in appearance. I'm very pleased and will definitely purchase this product on my own.

You guys have seen pictures of me recently through my blog posts! I've been using makeup that helps you glow, but a lot of it (glow) I contribute to using these two products for the past month. Mad Hippie suggests using products 30-90 days before seeing results. Well I can tell you that is the truth. I've seen results in just 30 days. I'm very interested in trying their other products, and of course letting you know the results on A Very Sweet Blog. Reviewing more skincare products is one of my goals for 2017.

And I'm even more excited that the two products you tried worked out so well for you since we have similar skin types. That Vitamin A Serum sounds fantastic and it's great that you saw visible results in just 30 days. Now we know your secret to looking extra glowy ;p

  4. I've seen Mad Hippie at my local Whole Foods but have always been a bit put off by the idea of buying beauty products at a grocery store. Clearly I need to think again, because this line sounds awesome! Thanks for a great review, Kim.

  7. I saw your short reviews on both products through InstaStories and I quickly hop over to have a read. I need to check the cleansing milk, to know that it's in the same league with your all time favourite REN is a testament by itself on how good it is.

  10. YAY, they're sold at Whole Foods!!! I'll definitely be giving them a try. My current cleanser is finishing up, which I wasn't too crazy about, so I am willing to try something new and the fact that it's also good at treating pimples, from your experience, makes me want to try because I have blemish prone skin. Thanks so much for sharing, beauty, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend ahead!

  15. What a lovely cheerful packaging! Mad Hippie sounds like a nice brand. You're right that we need a bit more time to make a review of skin products, because it usually takes a while before we can tell with certainty what it did for our skin. It seems your experience with these two products was great! It is always fantastic when we find skin products that make a difference and make our skin look and feel better.

This creamy cleaner seems lovely. I love creamy cleaners, I think they work well for mixed (dry- oily) skin...and naturally they are also good for normal and dry skin. All 5 ingredients sound perfect, I bet they work well together. Jojoba oil is always good.

The Vitamin A serum also sounds great! Good to hear that this dropper works properly- sometimes droppers are tricky to use. It is also great that it absorb quickly and easily. Interesting that you applied it in sections- but actually that makes sense.

    Happy Epiphany!

  16. Oh my, I've been so lazy cleaning my face and putting on serum lately. I don't know if it's because of the weather. I really hate winter, Kim. Lol! I'm so glad you tried these products. It sounds really good! Btw, thank you once again for your gifts! I ate almost the whole box of chocolates :)
